JMI entrance exam counselling 2026 will begin after the test is conducted and result is declared. The exam body may inform examinees about the counselling schedule on their contact details as provided during the applications. The difficulty level of the JMI entrance examination is moderate so the cut off is usually not very high.

The JMI application fee will be refunded only if the transaction has failed. If a candidate successfully pays the fee, no refund will be given. So, students must check the eligibility criteria, application form, etc. before filling JMI application form.

Candidates have to apply online to appear in JMI Entrance Exam. The application forms are released on the official website of JMI. Candidates have to first create an account by filling their basic details and then fill the detailed application form, select their course, upload required documents and pay the application fee. The registration window usually remains open for a month.

In case two candidates get same score in the JMI Entrance Exam then a tie braking rule is applied. The tiebreak is done on the basis of date of birth i.e. the older in age candidate is given higher rank. For interview programmes, the candidate securing high marks in written component of entrance test, is given higher rank. If the marks in written component are also same, then date of birth criterion is used i.e. the older in age candidate is given higher rank. This tiebreak rule is applicable for all the programmes except BTech, BArch, BDS and courses where admission will be given through CUET. 

The JMI Entrance Exam cutoff marks are the minimum marks required to pass the test. These are published along with the declaration of the results. The cutoff marks vary from programme to programme. The cutoff marks for some programmes from past cycles of the exam are provided below. This will give aspirants an idea of the required score.

No, the counseling sessions are held on different days for all the programmes offered by Jamia Millia Islamia. Admission to all Undergraduate, Postgraduate, Post Graduate Diploma, Diploma and Certificate programs offered by the University is done through entrance test and counselling. University releases the subject-wise counselling schedule along with the result. To participate in the counselling, candidates have to reach the concerned department with all the required documents and admission fee. The seat is allotted to the candidate after the verification of documents and payment of the admission fee. Candidates must check the website of JMI from time to time to know the detailed schedule of counseling.

Students who will qualify JMI entrance exam will have to participate in its counselling process according to date and time mentioned in JMI counselling schedule. If a candidate fails to complete this process and pay admission fee on or before time, their seat will be given to another applicant.

Selected candidates are advised to complete their admission formalities when the schedule is released. Students are required to bring their Admit Card issued for the Entrance Test and attested copies of the following documents, along with the originals, at the time of admission.

No, interview is conducted only for some courses of Jamia Millia Islamia. Along with the declaration of result, JMI releases the detailed admission process. The university schedules the interview for certain courses such as Mass Media, Mass Communication and Acting. Shortlisted candidates are required to appear for the interview as per their serial number. After the interview is over a merit list is released and selected candidates are called for counselling. For rest of all Undergraduate, Postgraduate, Diploma, PG Diploma courses of the University, the shortlisted candidates in the written test are directly called for the counselling.

Candidates need to appear in the CUET UG exam to get admission in some of the undergraduate courses of Jamia Millia Islamia. These courses are: B.Tech, B.Arch B.A. (Hons) Persian, B.A. (Hons) Urdu, B.A. (Hons) (History), B.A. (Hons. ). French and Francophone Studies, B.A. (Hons. ). Spanish and Latin American Studies, B.A. (Hons) (Economics), B.Voc (Solar Energy) (Self Financed), B.Sc. (Hons) Physics B.Sc. (Hons) Chemistry B.Sc. (Hons) ( Applied) Mathematics), B.Sc. (Biotechnology).

JMI selection criteria includes shortlisting of candidates on the basis of scores obtained in JMI exam. For some courses candidates are required to also appear for Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI). The cut off for each course is released after the selection procedure is over and candidates are called for counselling and document verification. To get a refund by withdrawing admission at JMI, students have to submit an application to their faculty. The university allows admission withdawl for a limited time only. Once the admission withdrawl application is successfully processed, the applicant will get a refund after deduction (if any). The refund process at JMI usually takes three to four weeks.
