Established in the year 2008, Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU) is a public university in Kakinada that has both AICTE and UGC approval. It also has NAAC 'A+' accreditation. According to the NIRF Ranking 2024, JNTU Kakinada is ranked 101–150 in the Engineering Category. The college is situated in Andhra Pradesh's Kakinada, East Godavari District. The campus occupies 110 acres in total. It has three constituent colleges: University College of Engineering Kakinada, the University College of Engineering Vizianagaram, and the University College of Engineering Narasaraopet.

JNTU Kakinada (UCEK) The college of dreams.

Placements: Around 60 percent of students got placed. The highest package is 10 LPA, the lowest is 2 LPA, and the average is 3.8 LPA. Recruiting companies are Reliance, ONGC, and Tata Chemicals. Around 90 percent of students got placed in Coramandal and ONGC. Roles offered are chemical analyst, process engineer, production engineer, environment engineer, research and development engineer, etc.

Infrastructure: Our faculty are familiar to us and support us. Our classrooms are very clean and we have a separate block for our department. Our hostel food is good but sometimes it tastes different. We have sports and games held by our department every 2 months.

Faculty: Our teachers are very familiar with us and they are very qualified for that job. They have the knowledge which we really wanted and that really helps us to make our career more successful. Our course is relevant to our industrial roles. Our labs and practical knowledge that come from those labs really make us do industrial roles. Our semester exams are moderate and sometimes difficult. The pass percentage is about 55 percent. My college has experienced faculty.

Other: Because iam very interested in chemical and environment Our course is only to give jobs if you clear all papers I wish to spend more time on labs so that I get more practical knowledge Iam very big fan of my college events because it made more friends and give more memories to me.

Good placements and vibrant campus life.

Placements: Nearly 30 percent of students got placed in IT roles and nearly 35 of percent of students got placed in non-IT roles. Top recruiters are Accenture, TCS, Winwire Technologies. Mostly ASE roles were offered with an average of 4.5LPA. The highest package is 22LPA and the lowest is 3.2LPA.

Infrastructure: There is no cellular data in classes and labs only. Wi-Fi is available during labs and break. The library is good with a vibrant range of books and the collection is good. Hostel food is good but feels is slightly higher than private hostels. Every week there is one sports period in which individuals can play any sports based on their interest.

Faculty: Half the staff are experienced and highly qualified. The rest are Assistant professors. The college is good in terms of making students industry-ready by making some activities like CRT classes and online internship programs. Semester exams are neither easy nor too tough. Exam papers are made by keeping all students in mind.

Other: I chose CSE because of good placements and my interest towards Tech fields. Events are mostly once a month. Extracurricular activities are once a week. Scholarships are available for top students with good marks.

Placements: The placements in our college are very nice and worth joining. Companies like Cognizant, TCS, and others come for campus recruitment. Many students get internships in their 3rd year. The average package of students is 3 LPA.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is well designed and decent. Labs are very good. The hostel facility is decent, though there are some problems related to food and water. Maintenance is decent overall, and facilities are nice.

Dissatisfied because of minimal placements, but the campus is good.

Placements: 30% of students in my course get placements. Some students get placed in the software field and the remaining in the hardware field. Top recruiting companies like TCS, Oppo, Infosys, Bimazed, Delhi TVS, etc., recruit students. Roles like Software Developer are offered. The highest package is 7.5 LPA, and the lowest is 2 LPA. Around 2% of students get internships.

Infrastructure: Big classrooms with benches are available. Each class has 60–65 students. Fans and lights are good. The library is air-conditioned, and all types of textbooks are available. It is very peaceful and well maintained. Wi-Fi is available but only for laptops. The mess and canteen food are good. A medical room is also available, and a cricket match is held every year.

Faculty: The teaching faculty is very good. Our teachers teach well, clarify all our doubts, and give good guidance for exams. Weekly tests and assignments are conducted by them. This course curriculum is relevant. Our exams are moderate to hard. The pass percentage is 85%.

For taking admission to the courses offered at JNTUK, candidates need to visit the official website of the respective national-level entrance exams conducting bodies and fill out the application form in online mode. Candidates willing to take admission to JNTUKK need to apply for the desired course on the Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE) and pay the prescribed application/ exam fee. JNTUK Scholarships 2025

The university doesn’t provide any scholarships to the students. However, a portal JNTU World gives the list of scholarships given by the government and how can their students apply for them. The Government of Andhra Pradesh provides financial aid to BC, SC, ST, Minority, EBC, and Kapu students in the form of Reimbursement of Tuition Fees (RTF) and Maintenance costs (MTF). Some of the JNTU Kakinada scholarship programmes mentioned are as follows:

Minority Scholarships

Minority Scholarship mostly known as MOMA Scholarship is one of the most popular scholarship programs around the country.
This scholarship program is provided to the minority community students only. Every year 60000 minority group students benefit from this scholarship.
An amount of 30000 is given to the students directly to their account i.e. direct benefit transfer (DBT).

Telangana E-Pass Scholarship

The government provides post-matriculation scholarships to the students.
For the scholarship student must have a class X pass.
Post-matriculation studies include ITI, Polytechnic, professional, graduate, post-graduate, and PhD courses.
Candidates from backward Castes are eligible such as ST or SC with an Annual Income Less than 2 Lakhs.
Scholarship students have to maintain 75% of marks in each semester.
Students for part-time courses are not eligible for this position.
Scholarships are not provided to the students joining training courses.

JNTUK Infrastructure

Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Kakinada campus, is spread over 110 acres of land. The institute has a a library, auditorium, seminar/ conference halls, guest houses, hostels, canteen, internet and wifi, computer labs, bank & fire station. The following facilities are provided by the JNTU Kakinada:

Infrastructure: The college houses 40 lecture halls, four drawing halls, laboratories, a computer centre, and a seminar hall with a seating capacity of 150 people. Each department has its own library and seminar hall in its building. A Powerhouse with a 140 KV generator connected to all buildings, including hostels.

Hostels: The college presently has 4 hostel blocks, two for boys and two for girls. Hostels can accommodate about 820 boys and 575 girls. Hostels are provided with the best facilities for the daily needs of students.

Library: The college library consists of nearly 61,414 books, about 126 Journals, and 4000 online journals.

Sports and Recreation: The college has adequate facilities for sports and games. There are facilities for playing cricket, football, table tennis and other games. A running track is also available. There is a multi-gym on the campus.

Other facilities: Other facilities include an auditorium, guest house, bank, staff quarters, canteen, and medical facilities with qualified doctors and dispensing.
