MDU Rohtak BTech is a four-year degree course. This course is taught across six specialisations by the Department of Engineering & Technology. MDU Rohtak BTech Admission 2025: How to Apply?

To get admission to Maharshi Dayanand University, students must visit the college’s official website. The selection is done based on the JEE Main score followed by HSTES counselling. Mentioned below is the step-wise procedure for MDU Rohtak BTech course admission:

STEP 1: MDU Rohtak BTech Application Process 2025

The College provides a common registration process for all the courses. Students would be required to fill out the application form by following some required steps related to document uploading and paying an adequate amount of the application fee. Interested candidates can follow the steps mentioned below to register for the course and gain admission to MDU:

Step1.1: Registration on the MDU Application Portal (http://mduronline.in/) for online process

Step 1.2: Select the programme [check eligibility]

Step 1.3: If you choose to apply for the selected programme (do it after confirming your eligibility etc), the application form will appear on the screen. Fill up the details in the application form, which will have the following sections:

i. Applicant Details

ii. Upload a scanned image file of your Photograph and Signature [as specified in points 7 & 8 above]

iii. Academic details

iv. Scan Document Upload

Step 1.4: Final Review of details entered in the Application Form and if they are corrected then 'Confirm' the submission. Otherwise, edit the details before confirming submission.

STEP 2: Merit List

MDU Rohtak shortlists candidates based on the entrance exam. Selection is done based on applicants' JEE Main scores. Apart from this, it is also checked that the applicants have the required minimum educational qualifications. A merit list may also be released by the university to declare the names of the selected students.

The merit list students may have to take part in the counselling round. In this round, the document verification procedure is carried out. Placements: The highest package shown on Google is incorrect, the highest package from 2023 is not more than 15 LPA. Placements are only for the Bachelor of Technology in fire technology and safety. For Computer Science Engineering, there is a 20-30% placement rate, not more than that, and the average being 3-4 LPA.

Infrastructure: Mess food is not good. The playground is always full of water, which is used for clothing. The laundry man will tear your clothes when you give them for washing. The hostel is clean, but the light and water problems are permanent, the water that comes out of the bathroom is so dirty that if it mistakenly gets into your mouth, you will vomit.

Faculty: They increase their grades whenever they want. Now, college has become autonomous, so the syllabus is a little easier. Overall exam toughness level is quite low, you can easily pass, but the system in the lab is very old, i3 9th gen, which is lower than sail. In the name of extracurricular activities, there is nothing to do, even the ground and campus are so small.

Building and infrastructure are good. Study is also good with a good environment.

Placements: I am still not sure about the placement because my batch is the second batch in B.Tech. There is no batch of B.Tech that has graduated and been placed. HOD of our department has ensured that they will bring companies during placement, and the companies will be mostly that they bring for B.Sc. placement like Infosys, Cognizant, or nearby companies. The average package you can expect is 3 LPA - 4 LPA.

Infrastructure: Building facilities are good. They have Wi-Fi in every building but the point is that students do not have access to Wi-Fi. Classrooms are big enough. One building is newly built so it is still in the development phase. Sports facilities are also available, and they organize sports competitions. I don't know about hostel and mess facilities because I am a day scholar.

Faculty: Faculty members are good and knowledgeable. They are good and have pretty much experience for teaching but there is always an exception. The same is with me till now there is one teacher who is not good at teaching according to me but she is not in college anymore. Faculty take tests too periodically to test our knowledge. Semester exams are not very hard but not easy too.

Other: I chose this course because I have an interest in coding. I want to make a career in coding. For my course, I don't want to improve anything, and the way is pretty good. They should improve events, fests, or say they should do events and fests. They have done maybe 2 or 3 events so far in 1 year, and that is also so low energy vibe. There is one more thing you will get your fee off by some thousand on the basis of your 12th percentage.

It is an average college and not value for money. The food is bad and placements are a little fine.

Placements: A very low amount of students get placed by the university. There are very less amount of students get internships or placements from the university, so we need to do work on our own. We should also get internships on our own. Mostly, small companies visit the college, but this university is improving. If we want we can try for it.

Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is not working properly. The food is not that good and clean. The hostel is fine. Medical facilities are good. Sports are good. There is not that fair competition in games. It has very large playgrounds. It also has a swimming pool and gym. Overall, this college is not good. The mess food is bad. It does not give fruit to students. The library is so good, big, and comfortable place to study.

Faculty: Exam papers are slightly tough and subjects are interesting. There are no good teachers. They give real education. Teachers are bad and they do not take classes properly. They are not making us study in an interesting manner. Overall, it is a below-average college.

Placements: In our college, around 60% of students are placed in the B. Teach CST course. The highest package of our college is 40 LPA per annum, and the average package is around 12 to 15 LPA per annum. The lowest package that is offered in our college is around 7 to 8 LPA per annum.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure and facilities of our college are very good. We have AC labs and advanced computers with the latest technology, and the classrooms also have AC. All over the college, Wi-Fi is available for students at no cost. Our college also has a very good hostel and a great canteen.

Faculty: Teachers in our college are very helpful and supportive towards all students. They are very good at their work, and the qualifications of our college teachers are great. They have a lot of knowledge in their field, and our college makes the students industry-ready. Semester exams are not too hard and not too easy. If you study, then you will pass the exams.

Other: The college is good for all courses. Rather than B. Teach, management courses are also good. Our college organizes all kinds of events and celebrations. The campus is pretty crowded, giving good vibes.

The college is very big and students get change.

Placements: Approximately all the students in our college get placed. Many big companies come to our college to take students. Students from 7th semester are eligible to sit for placements. This year, the highest package offered in our college was 2.4 crores, and approximately 1,700 students got placed.

Infrastructure: Hostels are also good. We get electricity, hot and cold water, free Wi-Fi everywhere on the campus. We have guest houses for accommodation of parents or any relatives, it is paid and should be booked, food quality in mess is good, but not good like all.

Faculty: Faculty-to-student ratio is good, the faculty are very friendly, and they clarify each and every doubt of students. My favourite professors are Nirjhar Hang Sir and Amit Shaw Sir. Their explanation during the class is really awesome, and they are friendly with all the students.

A decent college with average placements, a supportive environment, but an outdated curriculum.

Placements: The placement scenario at my college is average, not too impressive but not completely disappointing either. The college does bring in some companies for campus recruitment, especially for branches like CSE and ECE. However, many companies offer internships or job roles with relatively modest salary packages, usually ranging between 3-5 LPA. Core companies for other branches visit less frequently, and students often have to look for off-campus opportunities.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure of my college is decent but has room for improvement. Classrooms are spacious and equipped with projectors. The library is well-stocked with books and digital resources. Labs have the necessary equipment, though maintenance can be better. Wi-Fi is available in both the campus and hostels, but the speed is often inconsistent. Hostel rooms are average with basic facilities, but cleanliness varies. The mess food is okay, neither too good nor too bad. The campus is green with open space for students to relax. Overall, the infrastructure meets basic needs but needs better upkeep and modern upgrades.

Faculty: Faculty members in my course are supportive, though the teaching quality varies. Some professors are experienced and explain concepts well. Other faculty members rely mostly on theory without practical examples. The course curriculum is based on university guidelines and covers core computer science subjects, but industry-relevant updates are a bit slow. Practical exposure through labs and projects is provided, but can be improved. Exams are mostly theory-based with a few internal assessments and lab evaluations. Overall, if students stay proactive, use online resources, and focus on skill-building, they can get the most out of the course despite the academic limitations.

Other: I am pursuing B.Tech in Computer Science (2024-2028). I chose this course due to my interest in coding and technology. The course covers important topics like programming, DSA, and DBMS. However, the course curriculum needs to be updated to match current industry trends. Practical exposure and internships should be improved. The campus has decent facilities and hosts occasional events and fests. The campus crowd is friendly, and basic public transport is available. Scholarships are provided based on merit and need. Extracurricular activities exist, but need more consistency. Overall, students have a decent experience if they are self-motivated and willing to go beyond the syllabus.
