B.Tech. in Information Technology - Batch of 2027
Offered by Netaji Subhash Engineering College

Great college for admission.
Placements: Almost all students of our college from the CSE, IT, ECE, and Electrical branches got placed. Our top recruiters are TCS, Wipro, Cognizant, and Accenture. The average package is 4 LPA and the maximum package this year is 29 LPA from Juspay. Software engineer roles are offered the most by companies. Companies look for internships before recruiting students.
Infrastructure: The facilities and infrastructure of our department and college are top-notch. Our full campus has free Wi-Fi for everyone. The classes, labs, and library are equipped with good resources like good PCs, software, smart board, projector, AC, etc. Unfortunately our college has no hostel of its own but a lot of flats, PGs, and mess are available near the college for residing.
Faculty: The teachers of our department and college are very helpful, frank, and supportive. They are good scholars and researchers of their respective fields and always help students with any of their doubts. The curriculum which is taught in the course makes you industry-ready. The exams are also taken based on this curriculum. If one studies for 2 hours daily they can easily pass the exams with a good CGPA.
Other: The campus has the best minds from all over India. We have different clubs that organise different fests, events throughout the year, like cultural fest, teach fest, freshers, and sports events. If you're planning to take admission in this college go for it because you will make good memories and pass with flying colours.

Bad placements, small college grounds, no hostel life, lack of ACs, decent faculty, and campus.
Placements: This year (2026) the placement statistics are very low like 30-40 percent. I heard from my seniors that these placements were low-paying like 3 LPA-4 LPA on average. Many big MNCs and companies like Google, Microsoft, and Amazon claim that they haven't come here since 4 years. Only mass hiring companies like TCS come. The thing is NSEC comes under Techno India Group. All the placements of these colleges happen together so we are competing with good colleges like Techno Main Salt Lake for placements. In conclusion I would say placements are bad here.
Infrastructure: There are both positives and negatives to infrastructure. Positives are that we have a large number of classrooms, labs, and we have Wi-Fi, library, gym, and the canteen food is healthy. The negatives are our small college grounds, the gym I mentioned above is very small and basic level, and there are no hostels. Most classrooms don't have ACs. The thing is only the top floor of the office building accommodating the 4 classes O501 - O504 and labs has ACs installed. In the summer it's impossible to do classes most students don't come to attend classes. Although management has promised to install more ACs.
Faculty: The teachers are good here. The only thing bad about them is that 50 percent of teachers teach in Bengal and we have Bihar and Jharkhand students too here. I would say that the MAKAUT curriculum is old and outdated for the industry. The semester exams are unpredictable. This time it came easily for 1st year students but 25 percent of students still got backlogs in one or more than one subjects. Here the problem is not of teachers but of students. They don't attend classes the daily attendance is very poor like 15-20 out of 70 students in my section.
Other: Overall everything is decent and okay but if the placements go up after 2026 then this college can be a great place to come.

It is value-for-money college for studies.
Placements: The percentage of students placed in this course is around 98 percent. The highest package is around 28 LPA. The average package is around 8 LPA. Top recruiting companies that visit our college include TCS, Infosys, Deloitte, and EY. Around 80 percent of students get internships.
Infrastructure: All facilities are well maintained and work in very good condition. Wi-Fi, labs, classrooms, and library are all air-conditioned. Quality of facilities in the hostel is also very good compared to other colleges.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful. They are qualified and knowledgeable. Teaching quality is much better compared to previous years. The course curriculum is also very relevant. Teachers help students prepare for semester exams by providing modules and previous years' question papers.
Other: I chose this course because it has a bright future. Best things that it not only gives us knowledge and teaches us what we learn. It also helps us engage in other activities.

Honest review provided by a final year student.
Placements: About 45-50% students secured placement offers. The highest package offered was 8.1 LPA and the lowest was like 2.4 LPA. Top recruiters are Deloitte, Cognizant, HclTech etc. Not many students secured internship but many secured a permanent job offer. Top roles offered includes Software developed, Analyst, System engineer etc.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is available but speed is not up to mark. Classrooms and labs are maintained. Library has average collection of books. Hostel facility is not available. Food available in the canteen is average. Medical facilities are pretty avarage. There is no playground in college. Overall, sports infrastructure is poor. Infrastructure and facilities provided by the college are average and not up to mark.
Faculty: Teachers are qualified and knowledgeable but they are not helpful at all. Only few teachers are good. Teaching quality is below average. The course is curriculum relevant and it makes us industry ready. The semester exams are pretty much easy to clear as the college is autonomous now. 40 percent were the passing marks previously when it was under Makaut.
Other: I chose this course because it is one of the most demanding fields currently. It can provide knowledge about software. There are many places of improvements like faculty, infrastructure, facilities, etc. The college organizes cultural events and technical events. Regalia is the annual fest. Campus is not so much attractive and well maintained. I don't like it overall. College gives Svmcm scholarship to students. Extracurricular activities are not so much discussed in the college.

Insights about BCA in Techno India University.
Placements: In my batch in this course, only 38 percent of students were placed. The highest package was 6 LPA, the lowest package was 2.5 LPA, and the average package was 4 LPA. Top recruiting companies were EY, Wipro, TCS, Genpact, Cognizant and Corizo. The rarest of students got internships, but those who were placed in TCS, Cognizant and EY got training for 6 months. Top roles offered were Sales and Web developer.
Infrastructure: Techno India University had good lab facilities with a cooperative environment. The Wi-Fi connection was active in college hours only and was deactivated during the exams. The classroom ambience was clean and hygienic, with smart boards and projectors in each class.
Faculty: Techno India University had good faculty, frank teachers with PhD degrees, and they were quite knowledgeable. Teachers were helpful with doubt-clearing sessions, too. The curriculum was relevant as it teaches the courses needed for the future, including the necessary coding languages. It doesn't make the students industry-ready. Moderate semester exams with a 40% passing percentage.
Other: I chose this scope for the long-term scope and also to change my stream from commerce to science. This course taught you all the coding languages, and if you focused on your class, you were going to bring excellent outcomes. I would like them to improve the placement opportunities. Events, fests, sports, etc., were top-notch as the college supported all these extracurricular activities, which were worth having fun, and you will definitely gather a great friend group with a lot of connections.

Well, it is a good college for students who study.
Placements: 40–50% of students get placements in the college. The highest package is 8 LPA, and the lowest is 2.4 LPA in Computer Science. The top recruiting companies are Tata Consultancy Services, Wipro, and Wonder Boltz. Almost all students get internships if they have good academic records.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is old. Classrooms have AC and smart boards with Wi-Fi access. Labs are spacious. Hostel rooms are big. Wi-Fi is available, and the food quality is good.
Faculty: Faculty is good, and the syllabus is completed before exams. Class tests are conducted every week for better academic preparation. Teachers provide notes that are easy to understand, and extra classes or remedial sessions are arranged for weak students. Faculty members are good and understanding.

Experience with dramatics faculty at MAKAUT with average placement in 2021.
Placements: Almost 50–60% of students got placed in core jobs in positions like Site Engineer, Foundation Engineer, Design Engineer, Material Inspector, BIM Engineer, Transport Engineer, and others moved into PSU and state exams. In my placement session, the highest package was 13 LPA. It was offered by a construction company. The average was 4–5 LPA. The lowest salary was 2 LPA from a local builder. Top recruiting companies were Karmata Engineering, Tata Projects, Bentley Systems, Arpana Construction, Infosys, and Wipro. In this branch, internship chances were very low since there was no industry exposure available; that was the only negative in this university.
Infrastructure: I would say it was the best campus I had ever visited. There was a sports complex, cafeteria, gym, seminar hall, digital library with enough journals and research papers. Also, auditorium, and all classrooms were advanced with the availability of projectors and high-speed Wi-Fi connections. In hostels, there was a water purifier on each floor. CCTV surveillance over the building. Wi-Fi connectivity, a dining hall with an LCD TV, and indoor sports facilities as well. There were 3 options for room charges (1 bed – Rs. 60,000, 2 beds – Rs. 45,000, 3 beds – Rs. 30,000). The mess fee was the same for all, i.e., Rs. 38,000 per year. The food quality was much better than hotels.
Faculty: One thing that might dissatisfy other state students was faculty members. Students had to deal with faculty with care since internal marks were given by them. Apart from that, teachers also helped to conduct industrial visits, guest lectures, and were also helpful in practical classes. The pass percentage was 70% since exams were conducted strictly. The question paper was set quite tough to make students ready for PSUs. Essential topics like structure of concrete, materials, highway, and transportation were taught in both theory and labs to build basic concepts. Advanced subjects like CAD, hydraulic lab, strength management, and geotechnical labs were also included.
Other: This university accepted students through WBJEE and JEE exams. They also provided Swami Vivekananda merit-based scholarships of amount Rs. 60,000 and other NSP and government-funded scholarships. Fee exemptions were provided to economically weaker students, which was around 30% of the actual tuition fees. This institute had to focus on bringing more core job opportunities into campus with higher packages and also bring internship offers for better experience. Events and fests were conducted frequently within the campus. Annual sports was conducted by the university in which students from other colleges came to the campus and took part in the engineering cup. This university charged Rs. 60,000 for tuition fees.

Clean campus with very good faculty, but the placements are below average.
Placements: This year, the highest package was 7.73 LPA; the rest were all around 4 LPA, with only 24 students getting around 4 LPA; the rest of the people were not selected in CSE. Only 15 students got around 4 LPA, and the rest were given a lower salary or were not placed at all.
Infrastructure: The campus is quite big and very clean, both the academic block and the hostel. It's surrounded by trees and plants. The classrooms, the corridors of the academic block, and the hostels are very clean. There are strict rules for hostelers. But the food is below average in my opinion, both the hostel mess and the canteen food.
Faculty: All the teachers are very helpful, all are highly qualified, and they explain every subject thoroughly and always look after us. Teaching quality is very good. The pass percentage is average. Semester exams are at a moderate level. You can clear your doubts with every teacher whenever you like; they are very helpful.
