    Good faculty, place for knowledge.
Placements: During the second year of our M.Tech, almost half of us got the opportunity to go for internships. It is a really valuable experience, and what made it even better is how amazing and supportive all the faculty members are. They genuinely cared about us and guided us throughout, making sure we didn't feel overwhelmed and helping us balance both the internship work and academics. Because of their mentorship and the opportunities provided, we are able to develop the skills and confidence needed to succeed both academically and professionally.
Infrastructure: Hostel facilities for M. Tech students are honestly pretty good. We have 24/7 Wi-Fi in the hostel. One thing I really like is that M. Tech students get single rooms. Having your own space makes a big difference, it's peaceful, you can study whenever you want, and you don't have to worry about disturbing anyone. The rooms are clean, reasonably spacious, and regularly maintained.
Faculty: Faculty here are really good and supportive. Each student is assigned a guide, and we get to work under their guidance on a specific project or research topic. It's a great opportunity because you can delve deep into one area and actually gain hands-on experience. In the first year, we have regular evaluations like CT1, CT2, and semester exams for both semesters, which help us to stay on track with our studies. In the second year, instead of written exams, we mainly give project presentations for sem-3 and sem-4, which makes it more practical and research-oriented.
Other: In M.Tech, they mostly focus on advanced topics. Rather than just covering the basics again, they really encourage us to explore subjects in depth and build a strong understanding of the core concepts. The idea is to go beyond surface-level knowledge and actually become confident in specialized areas.

It is not a good college, I won't recommend it.
Placements: The placement coordinator is not working properly at all. He sends the data very late and does not contact many companies. When companies like Intel and Cadence came to drive, the coordinator didn't give a good response and told another drive is going on, so I don't want now. If you give this type of response to the company, they definitely won't give you a chance, so the placement coordinator should work good, not relying on the institute's fame. Every NIT is good if the management works properly.
Infrastructure: The food is not good. Only Bengali-style food is served, and the breakfast is not good. No food is provided during holidays, and there is no good service provided by them. They don't provide food for us during Dusshera vacation, and they charge Rs. 140 per day for food, but they do not provide food during holidays. That's not a good performance, and most of the food contains potatoes. I agree that this is Bengali culture, but they should provide more protein. I would not recommend.
Faculty: The faculty is good, but the content they provide is not good enough to secure good position in technology. Most of the time, we have to prepare for most of the subjects on our own. Some faculty don't even provide good PDFs at the time, they provide them at the end of the semester, and we can't score good marks on the midterm exams.
Other: I like instrumentation, so I chose this, and I got this seat according to my rank. I think they should improve the lab equipment and provide related things.

    Excellent faculty members and infrastructure.
Placements: The placement in our course was good but in comparison to other branches, it was not that good. The highest package offered in our course was 28 LPA. The average package was around 6 LPA-8 LPA. Top recruiting companies were Biocon, Serum Institute of India, etc. Top roles were neurologist, etc.
Infrastructure: The facilities and infrastructure available for our course were excellent. Wi-Fi campus, digital classrooms, and library were available in the college. The quality of facilities available in the hostel was also good. The quality of food was survival. Sports facilities were available in the college.
Faculty: The professors were helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. The teaching quality of our faculty members was great. Course curriculum was relevant. Students became industry-ready for the jobs. Semester examination of our college was little tough. Around 80%-90% passed in exam.

    Top institute of biotechnology.
Placements: Placement is very bad, especially for our department. Biotechnology core companies are very few; most placement is done for B.Tech students, especially CS-aligned branches. The highest CTC is 56 LPA, and we do not get that even in dreams. Our package starts at 4 LPA, and the highest is 11.2 LPA. Some people get jobs in some other field, not in biotechnology. Few go abroad for jobs, mostly in Austria. The college gives internships, and we can also try for internships; most companies easily give internships as we are NIT students.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is very big and near the city centre. In the first year, there are so many restrictions that we can not use gym and seniors ragging juniors is very common. There is a big library but not a hall for studying; other students come and disturb others. Classrooms are large and equipped with Wi-Fi, as is the library and hostel. Most hostels are very old and we have to live with 3 friends in a room up to the final year, which is a maximum of 2 people. Hostel food is very bad and not eatable but there is no other option. Our college medical unit is the worst and needs improvement.
Faculty: Attendance is a big issue; if attendance is less than 75%, your first grade is deducted. You may not like the teaching style of professors but you need to adjust to their methodology. All faculty are highly talented and qualified. The biotechnology course is demanding and we have NIT status. Our curriculum is the best in India, mostly practical-based. semester is very hard to pass. Many things, like practicals, assignments, vivas, major and minor projects, internal and external, all need to perform well .
Other: The college hostel and warden are very strict; we feel like we are stuck in jail; there is no freedom .

    It is an excellent college.
Placements: The placement cell at our college was so good. The previous year, students were eligible for campus placement. Top recruiting companies visited our campus. The salary package offered was 16 LPA and the lowest salary package offered was 8 LPA.
Infrastructure: The hostel facility at our college was so good. We had a huge hostel at our college. The hostel rooms were huge. Two students were living in one room. The hostel rooms were good. Purified drinking water was provided. The quality of food in the canteen was good.
Faculty: It was a good course. Our teachers were good and friendly with students. The teaching quality was good. All teachers were well qualified. Most of them were Ph.D. holders. Exams were held every semester.

Placements: Our college provided the best placements from reputed companies. The average salary package offered was 10 LPA. Students can also opt for a Ph.D. degree in the future. IT companies also recruited M.Tech students.
Infrastructure: Hostels were old but the rooms and the ground were big. It had a very good ambiance and greenery. It was easily accessible to classes. There were separate hostels for boys and girls with proper facilities. Mess was built inside the hostel.
Faculty: Exam pattern is easy, but the questions are challenging and based on real-life situations. The course curriculum provides more theoretical knowledge and helps them learn more profound insights into the subject.

General category and other State candidates face much higher cutoffs, while Home State or reserved categories can secure core branches.
