• During JoSAA/CSAB/CCMT Counselling: Yes, you can exit online via the unified portal before the final round finishes. Your seat acceptance fee will be reversed to your account by the counselling board after a minimal processing deduction of INR 1,500 to INR 5,000. 

• After Final Allotment & College Reporting: No, you cannot get an automatic reversal online. Under the strict "No Refund Policy" established by the Senate Committee on Academic Affairs (SCSA), if a candidate fails to physically report or cancels their seat after the final allocation rounds conclude, no institutional fees will be refunded to prevent empty seats throughout the batch duration. Only the refundable security caution deposits are paid back upon clearance.

The duplicate transaction amount will be refunded to your account. You must submit a formal application along with both payment receipts, bank statements showing the deductions, and your account details to the Faculty I/C (Accounts) or Academic Section of NIT Silchar. The institute verifies the transaction ledger with State Bank of India (SBI Collect) before processing the reversal. The settlement process typically takes 15 to 30 working days. 

Hostel and mess charges at NIT Silchar are billed separately from the main academic and tuition fee structure, rather than being included in the primary institutional fee total. They can be paid each semester through designated portals like SBI Collect or the Board of Hostel Management (BHM).

No. All payment gateway charges, transaction processing surcharges, or Goods and Services Tax (GST) levied by the banking partner (such as SBI Collect) are strictly non-refundable. These fees are collected directly by the banking service provider for transaction execution and are not received by the NIT Silchar treasury.
