Candidates are offered admission in MTech course of NIT Silchar based on their GATE scores. Aspirants also need to participate in the Centralized Counselling for MTech/MArch/MPlan process. The seats are allotted to candidates based on their rank. 

NIT Silchar 2025 cutoff has been released for admission to M.Tech courses. M.Tech CSE cutoff 2025 ranged from 602 to 526 for students belonging to the General AI category quota, according to the first and last round cutoff results. In 2024 and 2023, admissions to M.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering were closed at 448 and 386, respectively. Please note that this applies to the General AI category candidates; other categories might show different trends. 

The fees for NIT Silchar MTech course ranges from INR 1.4 lakh to INR 2.30 lakh. The duration if the course is for two years. Students who want NIT Silchar admissions need to fulfil the eligibility criteria. The eligibility criteria is that candidate should have passed graduation with a minimum of 60% aggregate. Students also need to clear the entrance exams which include GATE or CCMT.

Candidates need to be graduated with minimum 60% aggregate with BE/BTech from a recognised University to apply for MTech at NIT Silchar. The university from which the candidate obtained their UG degree must be recognised by the government or an appropriate regulatory body.

GATE CCMT R1 has been released for admission to the M.Tech courses. Candidates seeking admission to the NIT Silchar M.Tech course must secure a rank between 353 and 438 under the first cutoff list for the General category students.
