Satisfied with staff members.
Placements: About 20% of students have been placed in this course. The highest package is 15 LPA. The average package is 10 LPA, and the lowest package is 8 LPA. Top recruiting companies are consulting firms like Deloitte, Accenture, and KPMG, as well as Google, Apple, and Microsoft. All the students got internships. Top roles offered are market analysis and financial advisory.
Infrastructure: The university covers an area of 15 acres. The building is well-designed and maintained. The classrooms are designed with 4.0 teaching technology and also provide Wi-Fi facilities in every class and hall. The hostel also provides good facilities like fresh food, gym, Wi-Fi, etc.
Faculty: The teachers are supportive and qualified. The teaching quality is also good. The course curriculum is also relevant and makes the students ready to work in companies and industries. The semester exams are easy to pass, and the pass percentage is 40% in each subject.
Other: I opt for this course because I want to enhance my skills in marketing and chart analysis. The campus also organizes fests and extracurricular activities. The campus is crowded enough, and the surrounding is also a learning environment.

Good college as a NIT and good placement +.
Placements: In EE at NIT Silchar, around 87% of students got placed. The highest package this year is 44 LPA, offered by Amazon. While core placements are moderate, many students secured good roles in tech and software companies. EE graduates from NIT Silchar secure roles in power systems, embedded systems, automation, software development, data analysis, IT services, consulting, electronics design, and core electrical companies like L&T and Schneider.
Infrastructure: NIT Silchar EE department has decent labs and LAN access, but classrooms lack modern facilities, and teaching quality varies. However, hostel life is vibrant and enjoyable with good mess food, clean rooms, friendly environment, and making campus life memorable.
Faculty: NIT Silchar follows a semester system with continuous assessment through quizzes, mid and end-term exams. EE curriculum includes theory, labs, and projects. Teachers are knowledgeable but teaching quality varies across subjects. Relatively grading at NIT Silchar does exist, but its impact is limited some students report that although the institute uses relatively grading, the presence of high-performing peers (toppers) often makes the system functional similar to absolute grading. Here's how CGPA matters, to be eligible for branch change (if it's allowed), you generally need around 8.0+ CGPA, for popular branches like CSE/ECE, top students often score 8.8-9.1+.
Other: I chose EE at NIT Silchar for its core value, career scope, and NIT tag. Campus life is peaceful, and hostel life is enjoyable with LAN and friendly peers. Though academics can be tough and classrooms average. Overall, experience is enriching.

NIT Silchar has a large, green campus with average placements and a good atmosphere.
Placements: The college has a 92% placement rate across all branches with MNC companies. The average package is 15 LPA. Almost every student is given a chance to attend interviews, as many companies visit. However, students with backlogs are excluded. Apart from these students, most are placed.
Infrastructure: Classrooms are very large, and the hostel rooms are much better than those in other colleges. There are a total of 9 boys' hostels and 4 girls' hostels. The boys-to-girls ratio is also very good, with 85% of boys having a girl. The hostel facilities are excellent, and the food served is far better than in most IITs.
Faculty: Professors are very helpful and make attendance easy. They assist you with your projects, give very few assignments, and focus on practical knowledge. They prioritize students' progress and mental health, which is why there is no mandatory 75% attendance requirement if you have a valid reason.
Other: It is the best branch of NIT Silchar.

My review about this college.
Placements: Placement opportunities at NIT Silchar are one of the best among the colleges in North East India. Though other NITs provide excellent placement and job opportunities, NIT Silchar lags behind because of its geographical constraints. The companies visiting the college also provide internship opportunities. Companies like Lupin and Ranbaxy come for recruitment with an average package of around 5 LPA to 6 LPA, and the highest package is 65 LPA. After M.Sc. in Chemistry, you are eligible for a job in any pharmaceutical industry. Just send them your resume, pass the interview, and job done.
Infrastructure: College faculty is very good and interested in learning. The chemistry lab is also in campus, which is very clean, and there are many chemical products that help in learning more about it. Exams are also held on campus and are subjected to classes. There are 9 hostels for boys in this college and 3 hostels for girls. The hostel infrastructure is good. Mess facilities, TV room, sports room, and good spacious rooms are there. And it is also very cheap. There are single rooms, double rooms, and triple rooms. There are 10 hostels on our campus.
Faculty: Faculty of the college consists of Professors, Associate Professors, and Assistant Professors, with a minimum qualification of Ph.D. They are recruited after grounds of interview and are among the best in their field. The faculty of NIT Silchar is highly experienced, engaged in some good research work, and are student-friendly. They understand us. They always want to remain connected to students. Exams are held in semester system. Each semester is of six months. Exams are held twice in a year, and a project is given in the first three semesters to each student, which is guided by their faculty members.

My review about this college.
Placements: In terms of placement and job opportunities, we are ascending every year. Each year, we call around 150-200 companies to visit our campus. By the first half of the placement season, we managed to get around 60% of eligible candidates placed. Every year, we have some new companies added to our list of recruiters with some exciting offers, apart from our past recruiters. Some big companies like Brain and Company, Deloitte, KPMG, and Embibe have hired students from our college with an average package of 6 LPA to 8 LPA.
Infrastructure: Course is pretty good and has a lot of focus on practical learning. Every semester, there are 2-3 laboratories of 2 credits each. The institute has taken many research initiatives and has a separate research and innovation cell for these activities. I have opted for and been allotted a hostel since the first year. I got a hostel room which was initially for PG students, so the rooms are great. I got a double room in the 1st year. The rooms and facilities are excellent. Mess food is compensable. The water supply is also perfect, and bathrooms and toilets are cleaned daily.
Faculty: Faculty is very much qualified, 90% of professors, assistant professors, and associate professors are Ph.D. holders and have completed many research papers. They are well aware of the courses, and the course design is also very good. Every time I got study material easily. They are also very interactive; you can contact them anytime, anywhere. Overall, the teaching standard is good now. Faculty is helpful for every student in the issue of learning and they make us improve ourselves. The course duration is 2 years. Exams are conducted two times in a semester, and between those exams, there will be two minor class tests, mid-semister, class test, and end-semester exams.

A student perspective on NIT Silchar.
Placements: In 2022, the placement percentage was 99% but in 2023, it was 95%. It was not enough around 80%. This year, placements are good. Almost 90% of students got placed. In our course, 60% of students got placed. The average salary in our course is 15 LPA. The lowest is 8 LPA in my department. Top recruiting companies are Atlassian, Microsoft, Amazon, Make My Trip, etc. Till now, around 40% of my classmates got internships in companies like Microsoft, Accenture, Optum, Tech Mahindra, Cisco, and many more. Software SDE data, etc., roles are offered.
Infrastructure: Facilities and infrastructure in our college are good as I have completed almost 2 and half years. Wi-Fi works fine. In the lab, most of the desktops are not working. We cannot do most of the lab experiments. We have to do it on our laptops. If I say about hostel accommodation, it is a little difficult. 2nd and 3rd year students stay in the hostel. If you score less CGPA, there will be 3 students in each room instead of 2 students. The mess food is decent for me. The rest things are decent.
Faculty: Most of the faculty members are very helpful as per my knowledge. They are very knowledgeable with a lot of experience. The teaching quality is average for me. I didn't get everything in the class. I am a CSE student. All courses which are taught in the class make students ready for the industry. Semester exams are not so hard. If you practice, follow faculty members' notes, and read from where they teach, you can score well.
Other: It is near my home. I am very interested in studying CSE. Placements were also very good at that time. With time, the course curriculum changes with industry required. There are two tech and cultural fests which bring small happiness after a lot of hectic days. Very well-known artists visit the college. Our college provides scholarships from the side or you can apply outside.
