Panjab University Course Admissions 2025: Registration, Eligibility, Last Date & Fees

Punjab University offers a four-year BE programme across eight specialisations along with an Integrated BE (Chemical) - MBA programme. Admission to both programmes is based on JEE Main. To add, the university also conducts and considers the scores of  PU LEET and PU MEET scores for lateral entry admissions. The minimum eligibility for BE and Integrated courses is Class 12 with PCM subjects from a recognised board as per JAC Chandigarh eligibility criteria. Yes, admission to the Bachelor of Engineering programmes at PU is based on candidates' performance in JEE Main exam followed by counselling conducted by JAC Chandigarh. As mentioned above, admission to BE at Panjab University is subject to a valid score in JEE Main exam followed by JAC Chandigarh Counselling. All the affiliated colleges of Panjab University offering BTech are part of JAC Chandigarh counselling. Hence, the selection criteria of PU BTech is completed via JAC Chandigarh Counselling. To add, the university also conducts and considers the scores of PU LEET and PU MEET scores for lateral entry admissions. Additionally, Panjab University conducts the PULEET exam for admission to the second year of BTech. However, for first-year BTech students, the university considers the scores of JEE Main followed by JAC counselling. The total fee for MBA ranges between INR 42,700 and INR 6.20 lakh. Other than the course fee, students are required to pay the registration fee for CAT or PU MET exam depending on their admission process The application fee is INR 3,250 at UBS and INR 2,175 (PU MET) for General category candidates.

In order to be eligible to pursue MBA from a PU-affiliated institute, students must have completed their UG degrees with at least 50% aggregate. However, those with a Diploma must have at least 60% aggregate in it and along with that have at least five years of research/ teaching/ professional experience. Final admission, however, is subject to a valid score in MET exam conducted by Panjab University for MBA admission followed by GD and PI. 85% of the total final selection weightage is allocated to the MET exam and the remaining 15% of admission chances are based on the performance of the candidates in GD and PI. Panjab6 University cutoff 2023 for the BTech and the BArch courses is based on JEE Main ranks followed by the JAC Chandigarh Counselling. As per the Panjab University JEE Mains cutoff, the last round closing rank ranged between 2067 and 743884, among which Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch.) was the most competitive specialisation. The Round 1 and the Last Round closing ranks for BArch were the same at 2067 for the General Home State Quota students. During the Panjab University cutoff 2022, the Round 1 and the Last Round closing ranks were 4306 and 2067, respectively for the Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch.) course.

For admission to the three-year LLB programme offered by Panjab University, candidates must appear for PU LLB Entrance Test and score well. Shortlisted students will have their names appear in the merit lists. Those with their names can pay the admission fee and confirm their seat in the university. Before entrance, candidates are required to meet the minimum eligibility criteria set by the university which is a pass in any bachelor’s/ master’s degree in stream with at least 45% aggregate from Panjab University or any other University recognised by the Bar Council of India and Panjab University. The applications are available online on the official website. The application fee for General category candidates is INR 2,395 and for SC, ST and PwD category students, it is INR 1,198.  

As per the internet, BA at PU is offered across Economics, History, Sociology and Psychology specialisation, among others. However, students must select the specialisation on the basis of their interest and past academic background and not on the basis of its popularity. The total tuition fee for BA LLB ranges betwen INR 3.23 Lacs and INR 5.27 lakh. This fee, however, is sourced from an unofficial sources. Hence, is indicative. Other than the course fee, students are required to pay the registration fee for the university-level entrance exam. Panjab University NEET PG Cutoff 2024 was released for admission to MD and MS courses offered by the institute. The round 1 closing ranks for the General AI category candidates closed between 119 and 47483. Yes, work experience is mandate for Admission to Executive MBA at Punjab University. Along with the work experience Candidates are required to have a Bachelors Degree in any stream with not less than 50% marks in aggregate from a recognized.

Panjab University cutoff for MBA course is based on CAT scores. Candidates who wish to apply for Panjab University admissions to MBA course, must have a valid scores in CAT exam. Candidates must also meet the overall as well as the sectional CAT cutoff. Going as per the past year trends, the overall Panjab University MBA cutoff has been consistent at 85 percentile, whereas for sectional cutoff it is 50 percentile each for General category students. Chandigarh University offers MBA and MBA Human Resource through UBS Chandigarh. For MBA HR, candidates must have 85 percentile each for overall as well as sectional cutoffs. 

Yes, University Business School accept PU-CET (PG) score for its Executive MBA course admission. Candidates have to take this entrance examination conducted by the Panjab University. The exam is conducted in offline mode. The duration of the entrance examination is 90 minutes.
