 For a few courses, such as MA, BA, MLib, etc., admissions are completely based on merit in the last qualifying examination. Students must go through the Panjab University CHD-conducted/ national-level entrances and then appear for the university-level selection rounds for final admission at Panjab University.

The highest package offered to the Engineering batch 2025 was INR 24 LPA. On the other hand, the highest salary offered to the MBA students during Punjab University placements 2025 was also INR 24 LPA.  

UIET is ranked among the best 30 engineering colleges in India. It has a very high placement percentage with an average pay package of INR 8.72 LPA in the year 2023. Studies in Panjab University are at par with the leading Educational Institutes in our country. It was even the highest ranked Indian Institute for a while according to a survey by Times Higher education. Should have passed FA/F.Sc./ A level or equivalent examination with a minimum of 55% marks. Should have passed the Law Admission Test (LAT) with 50% passing marks and with a validity date for admission. Must have appeared in the PU Admission Test conducted by Punjab University. To be eligible for the three-year PU LLB course, a candidate must have completed graduation in any discipline from a recognised university with at least 45% aggregate marks or 40% marks for SC/ST candidates.

More than 100 companies took part in the Punjab University UIET placements 2025 and offered 356 job offers to the students. Some of the top recruiters include Samsung, Infosys, KPMG, Deloitte, Adobe, etc.

Panjab6 University cutoff 2023 for the BTech and the BArch courses is based on JEE Main ranks followed by the JAC Chandigarh Counselling. As per the Panjab University JEE Mains cutoff, the last round closing rank ranged between 2067 and 743884, among which Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch.) was the most competitive specialisation. The Round 1 and the Last Round closing ranks for BArch were the same at 2067 for the General Home State Quota students. During the Panjab University cutoff 2022, the Round 1 and the Last Round closing ranks were 4306 and 2067, respectively for the Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch.) course.
