Panjab University provides four year BSc Hons and Pharmacy programme in the following courses:

The PU CET UG exam pattern is as follows:

• Mode of exam: Computer-based test (CBT)
• Language of exam: English
• Number of sections: 4 (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biology)
• Number of questions per section: 60
• Type of questions: Multiple-choice questions
• Duration per section: 70 minutes
• Total marks: 120 marks per section
• Marking scheme: 2 marks for each correct answer, 0.5 marks deducted for each incorrect answer
• Negative marking: Yes

The total marks for PU CET UG 2026 will be 240 and their will be four sections physics, mathematics, chemistry and biology. Each marks per section is 60. Each correct answer will give uou +2 marks whereas each incorrect answer will give you -0.5 marks and there will be no penalty for the unattempted questions.

PU CET UG registration process has already released on November 14, 2025 and the end date will be December 14, 2025.

PU CET UG 2026 exam is expected to be held in the second week of May 2026, tenatatively at Chandigarh, Ludhiana, Muktsar, and Hoshiarpur exam centres in the offline mode for 70 minutes each section. Panjab University is a premier institution in India for education and research in the sciences, and its alumni are working in leading scientific and technological organizations in India and around the world.

In 2026, Punjab University will hold its PU CET UG exam for the 2026-2027 academic year. Currently, the official website has not posted any exam notice from the exam authorities. But based on trends from previous years, the exam authorities should be releasing the PU CET UG 2026-exam notice along with the exam admission process schedule in the fourth week of March 2026, at the earliest. Students who have completed their Class 12 exam who wish to get admission for the BSc (hons) and Pharmacy degrees offered by Punjab University can attend the PU CET UG 2026 exam.

Following is the requirements for a candidate who wish to appear for B Pharma Course :

50% Marks in 10+2 examination conducted by the respective
State/Central Government authorities recognised as equivalent to 10+2 examination by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) with English, Physics,  Chemistry and one of the following subject:-
Biology/ Biotechnology/ Mathematics

For PU CET (UG) provisional merit list will publish tentatively on March 2026.

 Documents required at the time of counseling:
(i) Physical Counseling Form (2 copies) to be downloaded from your login account.
(ii) Admission Form (2 copies) to be downloaded from your login account.
(iii)Admissions Fee (to be paid online only on Payment website through Net-Banking/Credit Card/Debit Card/UPI on the spot after getting admission). Candidates are required to create their account  for making online payment. Account on payonline.puchd.ac.in must be in the name of Candidate only.
(iv) Photograph
(v) Original documents and one copy of all documents are required on the spot.

For PU CET (UG) provisional merit list will publish tentatively on March 2026.

PU CET UG admit card will be released on December 23, 2025.

The main PU CET UG 2026 exam centres for the examination will be Ludhiana, Chandigarh, Muktsar, and Hoshiarpur. 

The official question paper will be available on the admissions portal of Panjab University, admissions.puchd.ac.in, a few days later than the exam is held. It will be published as a PDF file.

Candidates can check out the subject combination for the courses offered through PU CET UG 2025 examination:

 PU CET UG 2026 results will be announced in April 3, 2026 tentatively. Candidates who had participated for the PUCET UG 2026 exam can check their Panjab University result.

There is no specific passing marks for PU CET UG 2026 exam, students gets rank on the basis of their performance, and the merit list made.

• The candidates who have passed/appeared in 10+2 Examinations of Mahila Gram Vidyapith, Allahabad are ineligible to appear in the PU – CET (U.G.) Entrance Test, as this institution has been derecognised by Panjab University, Chandigarh. The examination conducted by the Board of Higher Secondary Education, Delhi, included in the booklet of recognised exams, has also been deleted from the Booklet. 
• The candidates having compartment in 10+2 examination held in March-2023 will not be eligible for admission in the course. The candidates who do not appear in PU – CET (U.G.) Entrance Test or who do not qualify PU – CET (U.G.) Entrance Test shall not be considered for the admission.

PU CET (PG) examination is typically accepted to be an easy to moderately challenging level of exam, and has a commonly practiced format consisting mainly of objective type question which are MCQs. Duration is 1 hour and 30 minutes. When preparing for exam candidates are advised to complete full syllabus for their subject as well as to have correct study material.
