Steps for SASTRA University Admission Process 2025
SASTRA Deemed University accepts the scores of various national-level entrance exams for admission to its UG and PG courses. Tho who qualified for UGC-NET (including JRF) / UGC-CSIR NET (including JRF) / GATE / UPSC or any other recognised competitive exam are exempted from the entrance test but have to appear for a compulsory interview round. A step-by-step process of admission for all courses at SASTRA University is as follows:
- Students must check out the course-specific eligibility criteria.
- The application process for all courses' admission at SASTRA University is completely online. Candidates can find the application form on the official website of the university.
- Submit the application fee. The application fee of the university differs from one course to another.
- Submit all the required documents.
- After or before application, candidates are required to appear for the course-specific entrance exam. If shortlisted in the same, candidates will receive a call. Those who wish to confirm admission can pay the admission fee and confirm their seat.

Admission to SASTRA Chennai (Deemed to be University) is entrance-based. Some of the national-level exams accepted are CUET/JEE Main/XAT, CAT, CMAT, etc. It is also crucial that the aspirants meet the course-specific minimum eligibility criteria. As per the official website, 2265 seats are available across all 32 BTech specialisations. These specialisations include Aerospace Engineering, CSE, ECE, Mechanical, Robotics & Artificial Intelligence and Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering, among others. Other than these courses, SASTRA University also offers two specialisations under 5-year integrated M.Tech programme, namely Biotechnology and Medical Nanotechnology. Admission to BTech is possible at SASTRA Deemed University via two methods:
- 50% of the seats are filled based on JEE Main scores and normalised marks of Class 12. JEE Main scores and Class 12 scores are given equal weightage.
- Only Class 12 scores are required for admission to 50% of the remaining seats.

SASTRA University MBA admission is based on a national-level entrance exams followed by a Personal Interview (PI) conducted by the university. In order to be eligible for this programme, students must have completed their Class 12 and undergraduate degree in the relevant stream. The entrance exams considered for admission, include CAT, XAT, AIMAT, CMAT and AIMCAT. Those with a valid score in one of the afore-mentioned exams are eligible. The application process of SASTRA University was conducted in both online and offline modes. However, starting the academic year 2022, the procedure has shifted completely to online mode. Aspirants seeking admission can visit the official website of the deemed university, apply online and pay the application fee. Further, they have to go through the selection rounds and counselling process and then confirm their seat on payment of the admission tuition fee. The application fee for SASTRA is INR 6,000.
Candidates are allotted a seat during TANCET counselling based on the following reservation criteria:

- Backward Classes (BC): 26.5%
- Most Backward Class and Identified Communities: 20%
- SC (Arunthathiyar): 3%
- Scheduled Caste: 15%
