SASTRA University Courses & Fees 2026: UG, PG, Doctorate, After 10th Courses

At the undergraduate level, this deemed University offers BTech across 30 specialisations along with Integrated MTech across two specialisations. Admission to all these courses is subject to JEE Main scores for 50% of the seats and is subject to Class 12 scores for the remaining 50% of the seats. Candidates seeking admission to the MBA programme at SASTRA University should possess a bachelor’s degree in any discipline and should have a valid scores in CAT/ XAT/ CMAT/ AIMCAT. Candidates based on their scores in any one of the aforementioned exam will be shortlisted for the Personal Interview (PI) round. Those who qualify for the PI round will be required to report to the admission cell at SASTRA University for document verification and fee payment leading to final seat allotment.

SASTRA University conducts an entrance exam for admission in MCA programme. The deemed-to-be university also considers graduation marks for final selection. Aspirants must pass a minimum of three-year bachelor's degree with Mathematics as a subject in Class 12 or qualifying degree to apply for MCA.

SASTRA University gives 50% weightage to Class 12 scores and 50% to CLAT scores in Phase-II. In Phase-I, admission is entirely based on scores of the aspirants in CLAT. In case the applicant has not appeared for CLAT, weighted score for 50% will become 0 but the Class 12 aggregate will be given 50% weightage to get the combined score in Phase-II.

SASTRA University offers courses at UG, PG and doctoral levels. The university offers courses across streams, such as Engineering, Management, Commerce, Law, Science, etc. at three campuses-Thanjavur, Kumbakonam and Chennai. The popular courses of the university include BTech, MBA, BA LLB (Hons), etc.

The total tuition fees for BA LLB (Hons) programme is INR 7 lakh at SASTRA University. Aspirants shortlisted for admission based on their CLAT and Class 12 scores have to pay the course fees to confirm their seat. 

Candidates have to pay INR 600 to apply for a course at SASTRA University. Aspirants can pay the fees via any of the online payment modes. Candidates must keep the fee receipt with them for future reference.

Candidate should not have completed 19 years as on August 1 of the admission year to apply at SASTRA University. Aspirants also need to meet the educational requirements i.e. Class 12 for UG and graduation for PG programmes.

The total tuition fees for MBA is INR 2.8 lakh at SASTRA University. Selected candidates have to confirm their seat in the university by paying the programme fees. Aspirants must pay the fees in the mode accepted by the university.

SASTRA University is also good for North Indian students. It is a reputed institute with strong academic and placements. While majority of the students are South India but it also welcomes North Indian students. It has disciplined culturewith heavy academic demands and rigid rules. 

Candidates are allotted a seat during TANCET counselling based on the following reservation criteria:

Students pursuing M.Tech from SASTRA University with GATE score can get 50% tuition fee waiver and stipend. Students must have necessary documents proving their merit to get the scholarship.

No, aspirants need to fill out only one application form for stream 1 and stream 2 BTech admissions at SASTRA University. Aspirants need to submit Class 12 or JEE Main score in the form for admission.

Aspirants can apply without Mathematics for BTech in Biotechnology, Bioinformatics and Bioengineering courses at SASTRA University. Candidates also do not require Mathematics for Integrated M.Tech in Biotechnology and Medical Nanotechnology courses. For all other BTech specialisations, Mathematics is a compulsory subject.

Aspirants with CLAT score have a good chance of getting admission in BA LLB (Hons) programme at SASTRA University. In case a students has not written CLAT in phase II, his or her CLAT score will be considered as 0 and rank will be calculated. Aspirants must also complete Class 12 from a recognised board in the first attempt with at least 60% aggregate with English as a subject for admission.
