B.Tech. in Information and Communication Technology - Batch of 2026

A college with below-average placements, suitable only for students who just want to study all day.
Placements: Placements are not great. There is no proper assistance during placements. Placement training lasts only 8 days. It is not very helpful. They try to teach everything, but it is not effective. The placement training needs improvement and is not sufficient.
Infrastructure: There is no proper cricket ground and the maintenance is very poor. Gym infrastructure is not good. The equipment is outdated. Sports contests are not organized properly. Systems in labs are outdated. They are not updated periodically.
Faculty: Faculty members are very strict and are not supportive. Some of them are biased and do not prepare students for placements. Proper guidance for semester examinations is also not provided. There are three internal exams per semester, which are really unnecessary and time-consuming for students.
Other: Information and Communication Technology has some Electronics subjects, but they are of little use to students. Events and fests are organized very rarely and are not very engaging.

I am satisfied with the faculty members and placements.
Placements: 85% of students get placed in our course. The highest package is 40 LPA, and the lowest package ranges from 3-4 LPA. The average package is also offered in this course. Microsoft, Google, Wellfare, IBM, Infosys, and TVS are the recruiting companies with high packages. 50% of students got internships. IT is the top role offered in this course.
Infrastructure: There is Wi-Fi in every class of every block on the whole campus. Wi-Fi is also available in the hostel room. For every 5 to 6 rooms, there is Wi-Fi. The library is very huge, where nearly 2,000 students can study at the same time. Computers are also available in the library. Classrooms are very good. The food is above average. There are many grounds for games like football, basketball, volleyball, and cricket.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful and capable lecturers. Their teaching is good. The course curriculum is relevant to the job. They are preparing us well for placements, and they make us ready for the industry or company. Semester exams are very difficult compared to the mid-term exams.
Other: I chose this course because I can get into IT jobs. There are no events in our college, and only one fest is organised in the whole year.

It has really good infrastructure and education.
Placements: 80% of students get placed. The highest package offered is 30 LPA, and the average package offered is 12 LPA. The lowest package offered is 4 LPA. The top recruiting companies for our course are TCS, IBM, and HCL Technologies. In my course, both hardware and software jobs are possible, so the percentage of students getting internships is high. It is above 87%. The top roles offered are software developer, cybersecurity analyst, and data scientist.
Infrastructure: My college has everything. It has free Wi-Fi and all kinds of ICT labs, both ECE labs and CSE labs for my course. My college has a big library. My college mess and canteen are completely vegetarian. 24x7 doctor and medical shops are also available in my college. Cricket, football, basketball, and volleyball grounds are available. An indoor stadium for badminton and tennis is available.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful and interactive with us. Many of them are knowledgeable. All staff members are teaching for above 1st year are PhD holders. The course curriculum is very well-structured. In my college, semester exams are a little tough. The pass percentage is above 5 CGPA, and it is above 50%.
Other: The best thing about my course is that I can study both hardware and software fields. 3 major fests are conducted every year. Many workshops are also conducted.

Good infrastructure and average faculty but a very good place for getting placed with good packages.
Placements: Students who got more than 75% on boards and more than 80 percentile in JEE got placed in this course. The highest package was about 40 LPA and the lowest was 3 LPA. Mostly the computer science department students are recruited by companies like TCS, Cognizant, IBM, Wipro, and Microsoft. To enter into internship programs students must at least have an average of 7.5 CGPA.
Infrastructure: The holder buildings have a moderate infrastructure. The newly built ones are good. Wi-Fi connections in the classroom areas and library are really good when compared to inside hostels. I can say that after people enter college we can't fully depend on the faculty members, we should browse search for information, and learn by ourselves. Some faculty members are really good and guide you in all the ways possible for your benefit while some are not up to the satisfaction. I could say it's an average (overall) for the faculty section.
Faculty: Most of the teachers are very helpful and knowledgeable but still, there are some exceptions. Few don't teach much and are helpful. Exams conducted are pretty tough but if we solve most of the previous year's questions we can score well. Still, the marks depend on the faculty member who evaluates. Some give the correct marks for what we have written but some will not get satisfied with whatever we have written. Still, it's good to do our best.
Other: I first applied for CS AIDS but I got this course after the process. Extracurricular activities are okay. It's not given much importance compared with studies. Big events are conducted only once in the year. We can't enjoy much with the events facilities but we can be happy after completing our classes and going around the campus.

It is a good college to gain knowledge.
Placements: Around 100% of placements are provided in our college. The highest salary package offered is 12 LPA to 25 LPA and the lowest salary package is 1 LPA to 4 LPA. Top recruiting companies are Amazon and PayPal. Around 80% of students in our course get internships and others are preparing to go abroad for higher studies. Many students are doing research in ASK-1 and ASK-2.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is available in our college at an average speed. Labs and classrooms are well-ventilated but the benches are a little old. Library is beautiful with many resources. Each room is allotted for four students in the first year but students can choose rooms from the second year.
Faculty: Semester exams are easy but depend on the students. There is a large competition among first-year students. Teachers teach according to the syllabus. ICT is a new course that offers communication with IT companies.

Very good university at affordable cost with better environment and high placement percentage.
Placements: About 95% of students got placed. This year, the highest salary package offered is around 60 LPA. TCS, Wipro, and CTS are some recruiting companies. The lowest salary package offered is around 4 LPA and the average salary package offered is around 7 LPA. Around 25-30% of students get internships during their 3rd year.
Infrastructure: There is an excellent setup throughout the campus with a newly built library and lecture complex theatres. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the college. It has a highly clean environment and washrooms. Excellent food at an affordable cost is served both in the mess and canteen. Labs are a must to acquire practical knowledge so that students are well-trained.
Faculty: Teaching standards have been extremely good. The curriculum has been designed considering the current trend and future development. University exams are always of the highest quality. These exams make students more intelligent. The curriculum is designed in such a way that equal weightage has been given to internals and end-semester exams.

Review of SASTRA (Deemed to be University).
Placements: Almost 1500 students were placed during the 2021 placements drive. More than 500 students got multiple job offers. The highest salary package offered is 27 LPA. Their salary packages depend upon their coding skills. Top recruiting companies like Amazon, PayPal, CISCO, Oracle, IBM, etc., visited the SASTRA campus. On the SASTRA campus, most students know the basic skills of coding.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is good. The food quality is average. A Wi-Fi facility is available. Football ground, basket ground, and indoor stadiums for badminton are present. In the hostel, a Wi-Fi facility is not available. Hostel rooms are good enough. Classrooms are pleasant and make us feel better.
Faculty: Teachers in our college are helpful and well-experienced. Semester exams are difficult. The course curriculum makes you feel exhausted and we will get less time to work ourselves. Teaching quality is good and makes us understand quickly.

Sastra provides more placements compared to other colleges.
Placements: Above 80% of the students from our course got placed. The highest salary package offered was 20 LPA, while the lowest salary package offered was 4 LPA. The average salary package offered was 9.5 LPA. Top recruiting companies for our course are Infosys, Microsoft, TCS, Cognizant, Google and CTS. Top roles offered in our course are tech assistant, junior techie, etc.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is well-developed, and our college has an eco-friendly environment. There are various well equipped and fully renowned laboratories on our campus. Classrooms have a really friendly environment. Free Wi-Fi facility is available throughout the campus.
Faculty: Faculty members here are really good. Their teaching is very helpful to score high marks. They are knowledgeable to train the students because they have graduated from IITs. Most of them did M.Tech in world best universities, and many of them have published research paper. They are professionals.
Other: I am interested in both information and communication, so I chose this course. I wish that our college should provide more internships for students for a better understanding. Events, fest and extracurricular activities are organised here. Scholarships are also provided here.

Since only 30% of the seats is filled by stream 2, the competition for it is heavier. ICT has a strength of about 60 people per batch, so that would make you compete for the 20 seats. Getting above 97% will keep you in a safer side.
