June 20, 2025: The 34th Convocation of Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology was held on June 14, 2025, in the Institution Auditorium, with the blessings of Founder Chancellor Honorable  Dr. Jeppiaar. The convocation will be presided by honorable Chancellor Dr. Mariazeena Johnson, presided over the event in the presence of President Dr. Marie Johnson. Vice President Ms. Maria Bernadette Arul Selvan, Vice President Mr. J. Arul Selvan, and Vice President Ms. Maria Catherine Johnson.

Honorary Doctorate (Honoris Causa) will be presented to Mr. Atlee Kumar is a prominent Indian film director, screen writer & Producer. He produced many box office hit movies, establishing him as a director with a keen sense of commercial filmmaking and grand storytelling.

During this momentous occasion, a remarkable total of 4221 undergraduate students, 817 postgraduate students, and 79 Ph.D. scholars proudly received their degrees. April 7, 2025: Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology, Chennai & Sriperumbudur campus proudly commemorated Excellence Day 2025 on 5th April, 2025 at the Sathyabama Campus. A remarkable total of 3508 undergraduate students, 644 postgraduate students, and 122 Ph.D. scholars proudly received their degrees. Among these graduates, 45 exceptional students were recognized with gold medals, celebrating their exemplary academic performances and dedication to their studies.

For the academic year 2023-24, the institution hosted 417 companies to campus for recruitment, leading to a substantial 3,053 job offers for the students. Aug 6, 2024: On August 5, 2024, the Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology proudly received a distinguished delegation led by New Mexico Governor Dr. Michelle Lujan Grisham. This visit is a key step towards increasing international engagement and expanding educational and technological ties.

Welcome Ceremony and Introduction: At 1:00 PM, Vice Presidents Ms. Maria Bernadette Tamilrasi, Mr. J. Arul Selvan, Ms. Maria Catherine Jayapriya, and other dignitaries from Sathyabama University greeted the delegation at the "Sathyabama Centre for Advanced Studies" building entrance. The delegation then went to Chancellor Dr. Mariazeena Johnson's office for a formal introduction.

Lunch: Lunch was served in the Dining Hall, giving delegates a sample of the local hospitality and food.

Cultural Welcome: After the welcome address and introductions, students performed the Indian National Anthem and a traditional Bharatnatyam dance performance, setting a lively tone for the visit. The cultural welcome took place in the Board Room.

MOU Signing: Sathyabama University and the State of New Mexico signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to collaborate on future education and research in sustainable energy, artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity. This was followed by a group photo shoot.

Business Meeting: The group then met with a private space technology company in the Board Room. The visit ended around 3:30 p.m. when the delegation left Sathyabama. This event is a potential step towards building international relations and exploring new opportunities for collaboration in education and technology.

Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology Organises a National Workshop on Blue Biotechnology, sponsored by the Ministry of Earth Sciences

July 5, 2024: The National Facility for Coastal and Marine Research, a centralised hub developed at the Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology, is a pioneering project and the first of its type in the country for developing blue biotechnology research, encouraging interdisciplinary collaboration. The facility was dedicated by Hon'ble Chancellor Dr. MARIAZEENA JOHNSON to students and young researchers, with technical support from the Ministry of Earth Sciences (MoES). 

As a mark of the beginning, the National Facility organizes the National Workshop on Blue Biotechnology on 5-6th July 2024, sponsored by MoES which would pave the way for innovative solutions and sustainable practices in blue biotechnology. The Programme is presided by Dr. MARIAZEENA JOHNSON, Hon'ble Chancellor, Dr. MARIE JOHNSON, President, Ms. MARIA BERNADETTE TAMILARASI, Mr. J. The NFCMR hosts a key National Workshop on Blue Biotechnology to meet India's essential demand for new marine biotechnology solutions. With its wide coastline and rich marine biodiversity, India has enormous potential to lead in this field, promoting sustainable development through environmental conservation, improved marine resources, and economic prosperity. The session addresses the most recent advances and prospects in blue biotechnology. In line with the Sustainable Development Goals and the objectives of the UN Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development, the NFCMR, in collaboration with the Ministry of Earth Sciences, reaffirms its commitment to advancing marine research and fostering innovative solutions for sustainable ocean resource management.

May 8, 2024: Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology launched the ANBU initiative on May 5, 2024, under the leadership of Dr Mariazeena Johnson, the Chancellor. This season marked a historic milestone for Sathyabama, with the highest-ever CTC of 45.59 LPA offered to engineering students, symbolizing a monumental achievement for the institution. Furthermore, the institute experienced a substantial year-on-year increase in the average CTC, reaching 5.40 LPA, reflecting the caliber of talent nurtured within the campus. Categorization of the Deemed^to be University under UGC [Categorization of Universities (only) for Grant of Graded Autonomy] Regulations, 2018

November, 20: The institution has been flourishing under the guidance of founder Chancellor Dr. Jeppiaar for the past three and a half decades. With the intention of producing skilled and ethical technical manpower for the nation, Dr. Jeppiaar's vision for education has been ingrained into our system. As a result, we are today progressing forward, overcoming obstacles and achieving numerous milestones on this humble yet successful journey.

In 2023, we achieved a significant milestone when the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) awarded the Institution an "A++" grade. I am also delighted to share that UGC has granted Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology the status of Category-I Deemed to be University in accordance with the provisions of the UGC (categorization of Universities for Grant of Graded Autonomy) Regulations, 2018.

August 16, 2023: Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology held its 32nd Convocation on 14th August 2023, at 10 A.M. at the institution auditorium. The main visitors at the event were university chancellor Mariazeena Johnson and TG Sitharam, chairman of the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). Sitharam awarded degrees to 3,504 graduates, 551 postgraduates, nine students of Diploma in Pharmacy and 104 PhD scholars during the convocation. 47 received gold medals for their performance in academics in various fields.

May 24, 2023: Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology, Deemed to be University is accredited with an "A++" Grade (3rd Cycle) by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). A duly constituted NAAC Peer Team Visited the Institution for Onsite Evaluation. The Standing Committee of NAAC approved and declared the result on 19th May 2023. Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology Issues Offer Letters to 91.18% of Students in the Achievers Day Celebrations

May 13, 2023: Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology celebrated “Sathyabama  Excellence Day’2023” at their Institute premises. The ceremonial function was presided by Dr Mariazeena Johnson- Chancellor and Dr Marie Johnson President, Vice Presidents J Arul Selvan & Maria Bernadette Tamilarasi, and Maria Catherine Jayapriya, honouring and appreciating the achievers with accolades. More than 300 distinguished recruiters participated in the campus recruitment for the current final-year batch, and as of this writing, 2823 offers had been made.  91.18% of the enrolled pupils have already been assigned. The university heard the annual CTC granted to its students was increased when the average CTC rose to 5.20 LPA. This year, the CTC reached a peak of 53 LPA. Additionally, Students at Sathyabama saw a substantial increase in the number of Dream. The students are being hired by Super Dream and Elite firms. This has created a fantastic platform for the ensuing batches as their pool of recruiters expands each.

The college is totally worth the money and time in my opinion.

Placements: I am pursuing the Electronics and Communication batch (2023-2027). Three placement opportunities are very good for the course especially for students who are strong in their technical and communication skills. SDE is the top role offered in my college as a graduate.

Placements: 80% of students are placed. Honda R&D, NxtWave, Infosys, and TVS are among the top recruiters. More than 600+ students are recruited overall. The highest package is 12 LPA, and the lowest is 3.5 LPA. However, students usually practice regularly for placements. Many students are also placed in internships.

Placements: In my department, almost 85% of students are placed. The average package offered is 6 LPA. The top recruitment company in my department is Stryker, which is a core biomedical instrumentation company. My department has more than 250 students enrolled in this course.

There are good placements, infrastructure, and facilities.

Placements: 90 percent of the students got placed from the course of biotechnology. The highest package is 20 LPA and there are also the lowest and average packages offered in the course of biotechnology. There are Bioneemtec and other companies recruiting. The top roles offered are in research.

Really good placements and curriculum.

Placements: Around 90% of my classmates got placed. One of my classmates got the highest CTC of 12 LPA, and I got placed with 3 LPA, which is the lowest among all. Most of them got around 5 LPA. Most of the students got placed in TCS & Accenture. In our class, all the students got internships in companies like HPE, Shell, Zoho, etc. We got plenty of opportunities through college placements. Some of them got HR Trainee roles, Business Analyst, Management Trainee, etc.

The fees for the online MBA course at Sathyabama University is INR 90,000 for the academic year 2026. The aforementioned Sathyabama University fees is charged on per annum basis in two instalments of INR 45,000 each.
