The selection criteria for B.Tech. In Computer Science and Engineering change each year based on the cutoff percentiles in the JEE Mains examination and the number of seats available. Yes, candidates pursuing BA Hons at SMVDU can do an MBA after the completion of the UG degree programme. However, it depends on the course opted by candidates in graduation and how it will benefit them while doing their MBA. SMVDU admission process are both entrance and merit-based followed by counselling. SMVDU accepts the admission on the basis of CUET exam for most of the UG & PG courses.  For few courses such as BTech, MBA, M.Tech admission are based on JEE/CAT/MAT/GATE/CCMT. 

Aspirants who wish to take admission to the BA Hons programme offered by Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University must appear for an entrance examination. The University accepts the scores of CUET UG conducted by the NTA. Therefore, Class 12 marks are not enough for SMVDU BA Hons course admission. It is just the minimum eligibility criteria.

Candidates who wish to take admission to the BSc Hons programme offered at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University are required to appear for an entrance examination. The University and its affiliated colleges accepts the scores of CUET UG. Therefore, Class 12 marks are not enough for SMVDU BSc Hons course admission.

SMVDU offers a full-time, three-year/ four-year (including research)/ five-year integrated BA Hons programme at the UG level. SMVDU BA Hons seats are alloted to candidates based on their performance and scores obtained by them in the CUET UG. The total SMVDU BA Hons seat intake for the integrated BA Hons plus MA programme across both specialisations is 95.

Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University offers a three-year/ four-year (including research) and five-year integrated BA plus MA programmes. SMVDU BA Hons seats are alloted based on their performance of candidates in the CUET UG. Given below is specialisation-wise seat intake for the five-year integrated BA plus MA programme across both specialisations:

The total number of seats in B.Tech programme of SMVDU is 350.

These 350 are classified as :

110 for computer Science engeenering,  

90 for electronics and communication engeenering,  

60 for mechanical engineering,  

60 for civil engineering,  

And 30 for electrical engineering. 

SMVDU merit list is based on valid score of (CAT/MAT/Feb/May/CMAT 2024 along with score obtained in GD/PI in first phase. For vacant seats, score obtained in CUET (PG) 2024 by candidate along with score obtained in GD/PI will be considered. As per the latest information, the overall cut-off varies from 357-367 for the M.Tech courses at SMVDU.

To be spoken separately the expected cut-off for "computer and Science engeenering" is 357, 361 for "system engeenering" and 367 for "electronic and communication engeenering".

Yes, you can join Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University without MAT. If you had appeared in CAT or CMAT exam then you are eligible for merit based admission process for MBA program. If you had not appeared in above mentioned exams then you will have to give entrance exam conducted by University named SMVDUEE ( Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University Entrance Exam). After qualifying the above exams you will be called up for Group Discussion and Personal Interview.
