It is not as bad as people might think.

Placements: While the placement cell itself might not be the best, it doesn't hold back students from landing great offers. This year (2025 batch), 8 students from the ECE branch land PSU placements of 12.5–13 LPA. Previously as well, CSE students land jobs up to 37 LPA, and many score well in GATE exams and go abroad for further studies.

Infrastructure: Hostels are pretty good compared to other government institutions. Classrooms have the required facilities, although not all of them. The campus Wi-Fi works in certain areas but isn't very dependable. The mess food is also quite decent. Sports facilities are available and quite active.

Faculty: It is surprising at times to see how well-qualified some professors are, with some having studied at top universities around the world and others holding very high AIR rankings in national exams. Some teachers might not be very friendly, but overall, the majority are very helpful. Curriculum is also updated according to the latest NEP course structure. The exams are also quite easy.

Other: The campus is absolutely beautiful. The campus life is very vibrant with something or the other always happening. The only thing this university lacks is good fests. The events and fests could be a lot better, and there should be more focus on extracurriculars.

My experience at Tezpur University. Beautiful Campus, one of the best in India.

Placements: Placements in our college for B.Tech computer Science are average. The average placement is around 3 LPA-4 LPA and around 60% of students got on-campus placement. The highest placement is 12 LPA, and the minimum is 1.2 LPA. Companies like Wipro, Amazon, TCS, and Velocity often arrive for on-campus placements, so overall for B.Tech in computer science, placement is average at Tezpur University.

Infrastructure: Infrastructure of college and department is very good. Classrooms are well-built and structured. There are many labs with a maximum capacity of around 80 students at a time. AC rooms are also available, all around the university. Wi-Fi is available and with good connection, in every hostel, you will find Wi-Fi with good connectivity. There are 7 men and 8 women hostel in our university. Hostel rooms are well built and with good facilities. Mess food quality is very good and it is tasty. Canteen is also available in every hostel.

Faculty: Faculty members of our college are very friendly, helpful, and well-qualified. Some teachers studied at IIT and many big colleges in India, they are well knowledgeable in their fields. Course curriculum is very good, they make students ready for industry in their fields. There are 4 exams in every semester, 2 sessional, 1 mid term and then end term. Pass percentage is 30%, and the level of exam is moderate.

Other: B.Tech in computer science department is one of the best courses provided at Tezpur University, for this course, there are many facilities in the university. Placement is average, and faculty members have good qualifications. Placements could be better in the college, that is a must. Every year 2-3 fests are conducted. Campus surroundings are very beautiful as campus is surrounded by trees and full of greenery. There are facilities for all sports activities like football, basketball, cricket, badminton etc. And many other facilities for extracurricular activities.

Exploring Tezpur University .

Placements: The placements are good in the sense that every engineering department student above CGPA 7 is eligible for campus interviews, and many get selected. Even if not placed via campus interview, many opt for off-campus placement, which is easy to get as we are Tezpur University passouts.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure of Tezpur University is by far the best in the way. It is the 3rd most ranked university in the Northeast. Of course it has good hostels and playgrounds, swimming pool, yoga center, computer center, gym, central library, etc.

Faculty: The faculty members of the university are IIT passouts; some are Tezpur University passouts with good learning and mentorship for the students. Students are guided by professors, assistant professors, and research scholars. The exam is taken half yearly every year.

Really good infrastructure, facilities etc.

Placements: 70 to 80% of the students were placed in our course. The highest package offered in our course is 50 LPA, the lowest is 1 LPA and the average is 25 LPA. The top recruiting company is Apple. 100% of students got internships from our course. This is all the information about our batch and course.

Infrastructure: The facilities and infrastructure available for our course/department are very good there were smart classrooms where monitors are present and AC, fan, etc. The classroom also has AC, fan, etc. The library is very huge one of the largest libraries at Tezpur University.

Faculty: The teachers were helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. The teaching quality of the teachers was good. The course curriculum is relevant and it makes the students industry-ready. Firstly there were 4 exams in every semester 1,2, mid and end term. The semester exams in the colleges are difficult rated 8.5 out of 10.

Tezpur University's B.Tech Review .

Placements: 30-40% of students get placed here. The highest placement is 12 LPA. The lowest and average placements, I have no idea about, but you can check in Tezpur University's liked page. Companies like BEL, Amul, Ag Software, Oil, Larsen and Turbo, etc., visit here. Students find internships by themselves. Offers like GET, SDE, Consultancy are offered.

Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is a bit slow but manageable. Projectors, desks, and benches are proper, and labs are good, filled with necessary equipment. The infrastructure is very good. The hostels are average, the canteen is there for packaged foods, and the mess food is average. The hostels are not very clean but manageable. The health center is there, so no need to worry. You can enjoy all sports and games here.

Faculty: Teachers are qualified enough. The course curriculum is pretty relevant and includes everything other colleges have. Semester exams are difficult towards the end but still manageable if you have done well in sessional and mid-semester exams. There are 2 sessional exams, 1 mid-semester exam, and 1 end-semester exam, totaling 150 marks.

Other: I chose CSE because it's the booming industry. Placements could have been better here, okay. Fests like Insignis, Tecxetra, etc., are there. Scholarships are provided for those in need.

It is a central university, and its infrastructure is very good and clean.

Placements: At least 50% of the students got placements through on-campus and off-campus placements. The average salary package offered is 8 LPA. Lots of companies visit for campus placements in our university. Our university is also known for its research work done by students while pursuing their degrees.

Infrastructure: Infrastructure is very good. We have a large campus and a library, and departments are also very good. We get free access to Wi-Fi connections on the whole campus. We have a huge playground inside our campus. Hostels are very good, and good quality food is served.

Faculty: Teachers are very helpful, well-qualified and knowledgeable. Their teaching style is also very good. They teach us in such a way that we learn everything related to our present and also about the future. They gave us a good experience.

Other: I have chosen this course because I always wanted to become a computer science engineer, and I got the opportunity to join this college.

The campus is green and clean.

Placements: Placements for our senior batch was better than our batch. The highest salary package offered was 24 LPA. Placements for our batch was not good. Many students opted for offline interviews due to lack of campus placements. Companies that visited during our time are Quaqua, Zaloni, etc. A pool campus was also held in AEC for all the students of the North East region.

Infrastructure: Infrastructure is probably the best among all the universities of India. It has the modern architecture of buildings along with the green campus filled with trees, and ponds will surely attract anyone. Hostels are also well-equipped and beautiful. The institute covers approximately 250 acres of land.

Faculty: Many faculty members were well-experienced and highly educated from prestigious institutes of India and abroad as well. They were always punctual and helpful. The course curriculum was advanced and proper. Proper course overview was also available beforehand.

Faculty are very good. They need to focus on providing industry exposure.

Placements: Most of the companies that visit the campus are service based companies providing lower packages. Only a few product-based companies offer good packages. But the intake of candidates is very low. Some companies leave without even recruiting atleast one candidate. This may be because of the lack of industrial related project knowledge and preparation sessions for larger product-based companies. Although the placement scenario is getting better nowadays compared to earlier years. But one needs proper grooming to get qualified for such companies. Even the industrial internship programs must be introduced which give a better opportunity to get into these dream companies. Faculty's involvement along with students' involvement is also necessary to increase the chances of getting more placement offers.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is good. Campus and hostels are very clean and provide all the facilities required. Maintainence is given utmost importance. However, there are a lot of restrictions to avail the amenities available on the campus and canteens. For sports and other extracurricular activities, proper facilities are provided here. Wi-Fi is not that good in hostels, but we are allowed to put on a private Wi-Fi router if required. Hostels are clean and well maintained by the staff. Occasional checkings take place for maintaining infrastructure. There is a lack of medical facilities as doctors are not available here.

Faculty: Students face a lot of pressure because of the continuous evaluation system. But it is also quite good as one can focus on all the subjects. But the college doesn't provide any industry exposure. Courses are mostly inclined towards theoretical aspects, but it lacks in providing practical knowledge. The college must focus on this.

It depends on the program you want to join. All except MBA and Engineering ones you need to appear for university’s entrance. For these 2 national scores are also accepted except in B.Tech where only JEE main. Moreover there is Northeast quota too in some programs.
