Fully satisfied, placed as well, but in 2014-2018 batch, scenario changing for new comers.
Placements: The best college in terms of placements in north India. CS got 100% placements. Till date, 60% of the branch is placed with many companies about to come more. If you are among top 60-70% and you need a core company, you will get placed. The companies for the core are Maruti, Anand, Vedanta, Tata, Mahindra, Cummins, Hero, Havells, Federal mogul, Shri Ram Piston and many more.
The non-core companies like Deloitte, EXL, ZS, Grail, J.P. Morgan, Capgemini and numerous others. The package offered is 4 LPA to 8 LPA till-date. 100% internship is provided by the college. There is a separate placement cell.
Infrastructure: The college has the number one infrastructure. There are world-class hostels with Sodexo food. Unlimited Wi-Fi, all-time access to the labs, smart classes, special medical facilities and ambulance as well.
Though there are many classrooms are old, they are nice and clean. All-time A/C, heater and library are available.
Faculty: Old faculty are the best teachers. Throughout the course, 50-60% of the teachers are old and experienced. The can create every interest. The teaching methods like PPT, books and board use as well. The teachers motivate for research. 10-20% of the teachers are the worst. The student-faculty ratio is 120:2. For doubts and tutorials, 20-25 students per teacher. The course curriculum is improving day by day. Though initially was good but more improvement is seen.
Other: The only thing to note is for 2014-2018 batch, intake was 1000 only. So, 90% of the placement is expected. But now, the intake is increasing. Thus, the value will go on and you get placed if you are in top 50 percent.

A good but expensive college.
Placements: Nearly 80% of the students of 2018 batch have been placed. Maruti Suzuki India recruited 2 students and nearly 6 students were selected by a start-up company Auto Ninja. In the year 2019, nearly 90% of the students got selected by companies for 6 months internship.
Infrastructure: All the labs are well-developed. The infrastructure is very good. The Wi-Fi facility has been provided in every lab. The workshops are very well-maintained. The staff is very supportive. There is a fully AC library and opened 24x7. New library policy is very good.
Faculty: The faculty of Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology is very supportive. The teachers clear doubt even after class hours. The teachers always use a practical approach to make things more clear. Regular evaluations are taken to help students to retain more.
Other: Saturnalia a techno-cultural fest is organised every year. Along with it, several other small events are organised every month.

Thapar University - A good choice for north indians.
Placements: My main concern was placements when I joined Thapar university. But after seeing the placement criteria, I was sure about one thing that you need to study hard a lot in order to get a good CGPA and then further comes the placements. According to the recent survey, 90% of the students were placed. The placements do not depend upon your branch, it just depends upon the things you learn during your 4-year degree. I would suggest you to join Thapar University.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is very good. A number of new hostels and buildings are also coming up. The Campus is huge in area. The condition of the hostels is better than the hostels of the other colleges. The college has a COS area from where you can get your all the daily needs.
Faculty: The faculty here is very good especially that of the mechanical department. All the teachers, I have dealt with, are very helpful. The new teachers are also qualified and knowledgeable. Most of them have their degrees from IITs. The facilities provided are also better than the other colleges.
