Candidates with Bachelor’s degree in Science including Agriculture, Pharmacy, Chemical Engineering, Medicine, Veterinary, Dairy, Fisheries, Horticulture, Forestry from any University recognized by UGC/ICAR/AICTE/ Medical Council with above mentioned marks are eligible to apply.
Marks obtained in all the optional subjects in all the semesters of the qualifying exam will be considered.
In addition 15 candidates will be selected though Graduate Aptitude Test –Biotechnology (GAT-B) conducted by NTA coordinated by RCB/ DBT, GOI.

Mysore University MSc Biotechnology is a two-year course spread across four semesters. The curriculum is based on Choice-Based Credit System. University of Mysore conducts Postgraduate Entrance Exam (PGEE) for PG courses admission. PGEE scores are accepted for MSc admission. Candidates have to apply and appear for entrance examinations separately for each program. However, there shall be a single common entrance examination for the following groups of programmes. Aspirants have to qualify in the respective entrance examination by securing a minimum 08 marks in case of SC/ST/ Cat-I candidates, 09 mark in case of OBC and 10 marks in case of other candidates out of 50 marks.
The application form can be filled out in online mode by visiting the university’s official website. During the form filling, candidates must keep the mark sheets and certificates handy. After the conclusion of the application procedure, the university releases a merit list to announce the names of the selected students. Mysore University selects candidates for MSc based on PGEE conducted by the university. For MSc Biotechnology, aspirants are selected based on GAT-B score.
