Mysore University MSc Eligibility & Highlights 2023
The University of Mysore offers MSc (two-year) course in a full-time mode. MSc course is divided into four semesters and is offered at the campus and through affiliated colleges. The affiliated colleges offering MSc are- JSS College of Arts, Commerce and Science (JSSCACS), Maharaja's College, University of Mysore, Indian Institute of Fashion and Animation, Bangalore, etc. Additionally, it is offered in multiple specialisations, including Computer Science, Psychology, Mathematics, etc.
Admission to the PG course is entrance-based. Postgraduate Entrance Exam (PGEE) conducted by Mysore University is accepted for MSc admissions. Furthermore, for admission to MSc Biotechnology, the university accepts GAT-B exam scores.
Besides, university also offers MSc IT in distance education mode through the Directorate of Distance Education. Aspirants need to complete BSc degree with Computer Science or Mathematics as one of the optional subjects or any degree with Diploma in Computer Application or BCA/ BTech/ BE in any branch with at least 45% aggregate (40% aggregate for SC/ ST/ CAT-I) to apply for MSc IT.

The first step of the University of Mysore MSc admission process is the application procedure. The selection of candidates for MSc course is based on entrance exam conducted by the university. Below are step-wise admission details for UOM:
STEP 1: Mysore University MSc Application Process 2024
Aspirants can apply by filling out the online form. Candidates irrespective of their category have to pay INR 1,000 separately for entrance exam and INR 2,000 for group subjects. The application fee for PG courses is INR 400. The step-by-step process for application form filling and submission are as follows:
Step 1.1: Visit the official website of the University of Mysore, https://www.uompgadmissions.com/.
Step 1.2: Click on 'PG Admissions' and register with the basic details.
Step 1.3: Login to fill out the application and upload the documents.
Step 1.4: Pay the application fee and submit the form.
STEP 2: Selection
Candidates are selected for MSc course based on PGEE (Postgraduate Entrance Exam) conducted by the university. Further, for admission to MSc Biotechnology, the university accepts GAT-B exam scores. Admission shall be made on the basis of the merit list prepared by taking into consideration 50%
of the aggregate marks obtained in the relevant subjects in the qualifying degree examination and
50% aggregate obtained in the entrance examination.
STEP 3: Seat Allotment
Once selected, candidates are called for document verification. For MSc admission at Mysore University, the selection committee shortlists students as per their academic records. The students who are selected have to submit the admission fee to confirm their seats.

Mysore University MSc Curriculum
Mysore University MSc curriculum is divided into four semesters. The curriculum for MSc is based on Choice-Based Credit System. During the first half of the fourth semesters, all hard core and soft core papers are completed. Candidates have to apply and appear for entrance examinations separately for each program. However, there shall be a single common entrance examination for the following groups of programmes.
