Zoology, Botany, Chemistry Environmental Science, Physics Math, Chemistry Geology, and Microbiology are among the nine specialisations that Purvanchal University (VBSPU) provides in its Bachelor of Science (BSc) programme. Additionally, it provides a full-time BSc (Hons) study in Environmental Science and Biotechnology. Admission to both the courses is based on the Purvanchal University Combined Admission Test (PUCAT) conducted by the university. The annual fee ranges from INR 30,000 to INR 90,000. VBSPU Jaunpur is a public state university that is a residential-cum-affiliating in nature. Veer Bahadur Singh Purvanchal University is recognised by the University Grants Commission. It was established in 1987 and through its affiliated colleges, offers UG, PG, Ph.D. PG Diploma and integrated courses to students. Formerly known as the Purvanchal Institution in Jaunpur, the institution currently goes by the name Shri Veer Bahadur Singh, a former chief minister of the state of Uttar Pradesh. Veer Bahadur Singh Purvanchal University offers more than 25 courses at UG, PG, and Diploma levels in full-time mode. After considering all the specialisations, around 50%-70% of seats are allocated to the candidates who qualify the accepted entrances such as PUCAT, and JEE Main. For UG and PG courses, the CUET exam scores are taken into consideration for admission to fill 50% of seats. For courses such as BTech, JEE Main’s scores are considered to allocate 70% of seats, and the remaining 30% are allocated via the PUCAT exam.
