VIT University: A place that you cannot miss in your lifetime.
Placements: The basic eligibility for sitting in the placement is to have a minimum CGPA of 7, and you have to have a score above 65% in your 10th and 12th grades. The highest package is 16 LPA, and the average is around 4-6 LPA. Top recruiters include Deloitte, Empower, NielsenIQ, and many other top MNCs.
Infrastructure: All the classrooms are air-conditioned and smart classrooms, with projectors and speakers, and arch classrooms with rolling chairs. Every room is equipped with Wi-Fi facilities. All the hostel rooms are highly maintained, and AC and non-AC rooms are available. All the rooms in the hostel have Wi-Fi connectivity. You have different types of mess options like veg, non-veg, and special.
Faculty: All the teachers at VIT are Ph.D. scholars and also professional industry personnel. All the faculty are very supportive of the career and friendly. The curriculum is up to date and approved by UGC. All the current skills the industry expects are provided to the students from time to time. The college conducts 3 main exams per semester, and the exams are moderate to difficult. Teachers will equip us to attend the exams and achieve very good marks.
Other: As starting a career in business administration is related to doing an MBA, and an MBA will cost around 15-20 lakhs, spending less on a BBA will be a very good option. A university like VIT has a brand value and face value. The college life in VIT is very vibrant, and there are many cultural fests happening frequently on the campus.

Vellore Institute of Technology.
Placements: In VIT Vellore, in our course, which has a high demand, more members are interested in joining this course. I got placed in Techmojo with an 11 LPA. The highest package of our course is 88 LPA, and the lowest is 9 LPA. More than 85% members are placed in our course, top recruiting companies are Zomoto, Phone Pay, Google, and Amazon.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure of our college is also good and is full of greenery, which gives fresh air, and hostels are also good on our campus. Every floor contains a speed Wi-Fi network, and classrooms are clean and neat, with well-maintained food in hostel that is healthy and of good taste.
Faculty: Our faculty members are highly talented and have good teaching skills. They are student-friendly, explanations are good, and all teachers are qualified and knowledgeable. This course curriculum is relevant, and it makes the students industry-ready. Semesters are tough to get good marks in.

VIT Vellore - The most honest review.
Placements: VIT Vellore offers decent placements, especially for CS and IT branches, with top companies like Microsoft, Amazon, and TCS recruiting. The average packages vary by branch, but tech roles get higher offers. Mass recruiters are common, so competition is high. Placements are good for tech fields.
Infrastructure: The course curriculum at VIT Vellore is decent, with flexibility in choosing subjects, but some feel it lacks depth. Hostel quality varies. Some are well-maintained, but most lack proper facilities and upkeep. The maintenance is bad.
Faculty: Exams are rigged, and teachers are racist. Exam evaluation feels consistent, raising concerns about fairness. Some students report biases in teaching and grading. The administration should address these issues to ensure a better academic environment for all.
Other: Campus life at VIT Vellore feels restricted due to strict rules. The administration enforces curfews and limits student freedom. It has heavy surveillance and PDA regulations that add to the controlled environment, making it less vibrant compared to other universities.

M.Sc. in Data Science - Batch of 2026

2Placements4Infrastructure5Faculty4Crowd & Campus Life5Value for Money
It has an industry-focused course curriculum with vibrant campus life.
Placements: I am from the M.Sc. in Data Science batch at VIT Vellore (passing out in 2026). Based on recent batches, around 80-85% of students get placed. The highest package is 20 LPA, and the lowest package is 4 LPA. The average package ranges from 7-8 LPA. Top recruiting companies for our course are Microsoft, Amazon, Deloitte, Accenture, Infosys, and TCS. Around 70-75% of students secure internships in companies such as Deloitte, Cognizant, Bosch, and PwC. The top roles offered include data scientist, data analyst, machine learning engineer, and business analyst.
Infrastructure: The M.Sc. in Data Science course at VIT Vellore has well-equipped computer labs with high-speed Wi-Fi, smart classrooms, and access to a rich library with digital resources. The hostel facilities are clean and well-maintained, offering Wi-Fi, study areas, and laundry services. The mess and canteen provide a variety of food options with decent quality. The campus also has good medical facilities, a well-stocked health center, and extensive sports and recreational amenities, including both indoor and outdoor games.
Faculty: Faculty members for M.Sc. in Data Science at VIT Vellore are highly qualified, knowledgeable, and supportive, with many having industry and research experience. The teaching quality is strong, with a focus on practical learning and real-world applications. The course curriculum is industry-relevant, covering core concepts in AI, machine learning, and data analytics, making students job-ready. Semester exams are moderately challenging, testing both theoretical understanding and practical skills. The pass percentage is generally above 90%.
Other: I am part of the M.Sc. in Data Science batch at VIT Vellore (passing out in 2026). I chose this course for its strong focus on AI, machine learning, and real-world data applications. It offers an industry-relevant course curriculum, hands-on projects, and diverse campus life with events, fests, and extracurricular activities. I wish to see more specialised electives and stronger industry collaborations for internships.

College facilities need to be improved due to the overflow of college crowd.
Placements: Around 75-80% of the students are placed in my particular course in the previous year. The highest package is around 85 to 90 LPA, and the average is honestly about 8.9 LPA. The lowest package was between 3.5 to 3.9 LPA, which includes many service IT companies such as TCS, HCL, Wipro, Infosys, Capgemini, Cognizant, etc. Around 62-65% of the students got internships from many major companies like TCS, HCL, and Infosys. The roles offered are data analyst, software developer, etc.
Infrastructure: Facilities and infrastructure need to be improved, while the hostel rooms and the food in the mess are quite bad. They have to increase the quality of food, and the facilities are also not up to the mark compared to the high fees they are charging us.
Faculty: In most cases, there is little use of the teachers. The teachers are knowledgeable and qualified, and their teaching is also good. The course curriculum is a bit clumsy and might be confusing for freshers to adapt to these conditions. The semester exams are pretty decent, the papers are set based on the students so that they can answer at least 4-5 questions.
Other: I had a bit of interest in the fields of IT and software, so that’s why I chose this course. The course curriculum needs to be improved much better. The college organizes fests and events on a regular basis. The campus road is a big problem because the intake is growing each year, which is a bit concerning. They also offer many scholarships which might be useful.

Average college.
Placements: The placements are okay, but super dream offers are not that many. Most people get placed in service-based companies through mass hiring. If you prepare well, you will get around 10-12 LPA CTC; higher offers are also received, with the highest around 1.2cr and 50 LPA. Internship opportunities are good; many companies like PayPal, Wells Fargo, Visa, Intuit, Motorq, etc., come for placements.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is good and available in hostels, the mess, and libraries, but not available in classes. Mess food is normal, not too bad and not too good, but the sports facilities are all paid, which means you have to spend even more on top of the fees you already pay.
Faculty: Teachers are average; many are not enthusiastic about teaching, and most teachers just read from PPTs. The course curriculum is updated and relevant to industry standards. Exams are average; very few people fail, around 5%. Memory is important to do well in these exams; they are not very innovation-based.
Other: I chose biotech because I wanted to pursue a Master's in a similar stream. Events are plentiful, with lots of clubs that have a good environment.
