B.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering and Business Systems in collaboration with TCS - Batch of 2028
3.2
Academics are strict, and facilities are good, but there is a lot of crowd.
Placements: Placements, although not the highest, are consistent, and being in collaboration with TCS, most of students get placed in this branch. The highest package last year was above 50+ LPA, but the lowest was as low as 2 LPA. It is a good course for students who may want to pursue an MBA after B.Tech and have some interest in finance.
Infrastructure: The academic blocks of the college are well-maintained and spacious. Normal classrooms are non-AC, while IT labs usually are. Although there are a lot of students in the college, the academic infrastructure is top-notch. Depending on the hostel/mess you choose, you may have varying experiences. The air conditioning in rooms works very well, but the Wi-Fi availability in some rooms is bad, while in some are acceptable. Washrooms are cleaned every day and are well-maintained, though they are still common toilets. The college provides all of the sports facilities, but the quantity of them for the number of students is not great.
Faculty: In the first year, there are a lot more exams for Business Systems than for other courses at the college. For CAT exams, which happen twice a semester, you have exams every day, including Sunday, while the final exam schedule is not much better, with 3-hour exams almost daily. You can easily pass the exams if you study one week before, but it is important to maintain the very strict attendance criteria. The curriculum moves very fast in this course and can be hard for a few students to keep up.
Other: The college life is hectic with loads of assignments and frequent exams, but you can still definitely enjoy it here by participating in events and fests while also having some time for yourself. Clubs also provide a lot of exposure and experience.

Satisfied with everything but the hostel food is the worst.
Placements: The highest salary package offered is 1 crore by MotorQ. The lowest salary package offered ranges between 3 LPA to 4 LPA. The average salary package offered is nearly 8 LPA. Top roles offered are mostly software engineers. For the placements, many companies visit our college. I am in 3rd year currently so many good companies visit our college for internships.
Infrastructure: Entire infrastructure of the hostel is good. Wi-Fi, labs, classrooms, and everything is fine except for the mess food, it is like the worst. Even after complaining so many times, no one listens to it. But I also heard that for men's hostel, it is much better.
Faculty: Teachers are good. They are qualified enough and knowledgeable. All teachers must be a Ph.D. holder to be admitted at this institute. The curriculum is very relevant to the industry standards. Semester exams are quite tough, but if we study nicely we will easily score good grades.
Other: The college has lots of crowds, it is like nearly 30,000 students on one campus including all types of courses. Events are very good like Riviera and Gravitas. In Riviera, there are singers and the pro-shows are held so it is very good. Extra-curricular activities are also great. We have mandatory extra-curricular courses to be completed as a credit for our degree.

Good university, good exposure, great campus life.
Placements: Placement percentage for the passing out batch was 100 percent. The highest package offered is 40 LPA and the average package offered was 12 LPA. Top recruiting companies include TCS, Wipro, Amazon, Cognizant, Deloitte, Infosys and Intel. Around 30% of students got internships in the companies Amazon, Wipro, Infosys and TCS. Top roles offered by my course includes Software developer, Web developer, Full stack developer, Multimedia programmer, Network analyst etc.extra.
Infrastructure: This course's infrastructure is very different from the other Computer Science courses offered in VIT due to the collaboration with TCS. There are programs related to Core programming with the major languages, Mathematics and Physics Database management systems and other electives like languages. The classrooms are well-maintained with smart boards and projectors. Wi-fi is accomodated in all academic and hostel blocks, although it can be slow sometimes. Labs have good computers with Air conditioning. The library is huge and has 5 plus floors of academics related books with Wi-fi and AC. Hostel life is good too, rooms are decent, AC is strong and maintenance is quick to arrive once you lodge a complaint. You can choose your block and the number of people you stay with from the second year onwards based on your CGPA. Washrooms are manageable, mess and canteen have healthy and quality food. Sports facilities are outstanding with a huge outdoor stadium, 4 gyms, two swimming pools, football grounds, tennis and volleyball courts and indoor courts for badminton, table tennis, squash etc.
Faculty: Teachers are mostly helpful but there are chances you might be unlucky and get an uncooperative teacher. They are qualified with good teaching experience in other universities like the IITs, lectures will mostly conduct of notes being projected onto the smart board and the teacher writing and explaining on two other white boards. This course curriculum is relevant as both the computers and business industries are booming and have a very bright scope. Semester exams are tough if you study in one night, writing notes in class with some revision daily is key to having good GPAs. Pass percentage is 40% in the final exams and overall pass percentage including your assignment submissions, quiz marks and lab performance is also 40%.
Other: I chose this course because of its association with TCS. As a badminton player, I was able to keep up with my skills and at the same time maintain a good CGPA. VIT offers many clubs and chapters that you can enroll in as well as numerous extracurricular events, and festivals like Riviera and Gravitas.

Our college is decent and provides decent placements.
Placements: Almost 100% of students got placed in our college. The highest salary package offered is 1.1 CPA. The average salary package offered is 10 LPA, and the lowest salary package offered is 4 LPA. Top recruiting companies are Dyte, Amantya, Amazon, Zomato, etc. Many students got internships from our college in companies like Amazon, Microsoft, etc.
Infrastructure: The Wi-Fi speed is not good. Classrooms are decent and air-conditioned. The mess facility is average. Our hostel is better than other hostels.
Faculty: Our teachers are good. The pass percentage is good. There is no subject-choosing facility in our college.

The college is good and has strict rules and regulations and also it is safe for students.
Placements: The placement rate for our batch is above 90%. Companies that mostly come for placements are TCS, Infosys, etc. The highest salary package offered is 75 LPA by Microsoft. Over 10% of students usually get internships in their 3rd year, and over 20% of students get internships in their final year.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is poor and is limited to 100 GB per month. Classrooms are good and well-maintained. Labs are well-equipped with modern and well-maintained infrastructure including android development.
Faculty: Faculty members are rude and irritated. Some faculty members are enthusiastic. Most of the faculty members have deep knowledge and understanding of the topics. Exams are the most difficult. Every semester, 3 exams are conducted namely, CAT-1, CAT-2, and FAT. The same goes for lab and practical subjects where CATs might be replaced by mid-term depending upon faculty members.
Other: I opted for B.Tech in computer science engineering with a specialisation in business systems (BBS), as it has a better edge over other courses that we are taught in the BCVS course, business communication, and value studies, for the first four semesters. They enrich our knowledge and communication skills in English. They also include additional courses in finance, management, and marketing which will help us survive the corporate struggle in the long run. The only improvement I would expect is that they keep our course cohort registered, unlike other courses, whereby FFCS allows students to choose their own subjects and faculty members. The college has a large number of clubs and they independently organise various events, although the largest one is famous. It is Gravitas, where different clubs work together to organise events.

Campus life is good, with good opportunities in both academics and extra curricular activities.
Placements: The first batch of this course will have placements in 2023. Management domain jobs are also offered. Around 15% of students got internships in various IT companies.
Infrastructure: The college has really good infrastructure. Wi-Fi is available in the hostel and library till 12:30 am. The library has AC and a lot of resources. The classrooms are non-AC but have good ventilation. Labs are well-equipped. The quality of food is better than in my previous hostel (class 11 & 12), and depends on the person again. Outdoor stadiums, sports courts and multiple gyms are available, making it a good infrastructure in hostels.
Faculty: The course curriculum is industry-related and designed by TCS. 80-85% is the minimum pass percentage. Papers are divided into three segments with all three easy, medium and hard questions. It is well-balanced. The curriculum and labs are relevant, and exams are well balanced.
Other: I am more into business and marketing, and this provided the opportunity. I wanted to learn CSE with business. They can add more projects and practical-related assignments. Everything is amazing here.

The best campus life in Vellore Institute of technology.
Placements: Around 80% of the students got placed. The highest CTC may go up to 30-40 LPA. Some Top recruiting companies are TCS, Infosys, Wipro, and many more. The percentage of students getting internships cannot be accurate. The top roles would be software developer, Web developer, Computer Network analyst, and many more opportunities out there for you.
Infrastructure: The facilities and infrastructure for all courses are top in every class. The whole campus is Wi-Fi connected, the Wi-Fi speed is good for browsing, and the classrooms are good and maintained very neatly. The quality of food provided here is far better than in many hotels and restaurants.
Faculty: Here all the teachers are doctorate holders and very friendly with the students. The course curriculum is relevant, and it makes students industry-ready start from the first semester. The semester exams are pretty easy for everyone who listens to the classes, and no extra work is needed.

Review of Vellore Institute of Technology, Vellore.
Placements: It is one of the best colleges for placements, but there is a lot of competition. Many multinationals companies like Amazon visit our college to hire students. The highest salary package offered is 60 LPA in the most recent batch. I highly appreciate the career guidance opportunities provided on the campus, which give students clarity about their placements and future.
Infrastructure: The equipment in the labs is of international level, whether it is for undergraduate or postgraduate. The library is huge, and it contains almost every book. The Wi-Fi facility is not great, and it is restricted at late nights in the hostel. Like other colleges, classrooms are good. It is one of the best for extracurriculars, whether it is sports or art forms. The canteen is typical south Indian with affordable prices. Wardens take good care of students. It is connected to local hospitals and the health center.
Faculty: Faculty members in our college are experienced and have great soft skills. One of my professors graduated from MIT, which is an ivy league college. As per our curriculum in CSBS, both computer science, whether it is coding, programming to business, and everything is balanced, which makes students industry-ready. Exams are taken very seriously and conducted strictly by the invigilators.
Other: VIT is definitely worth its money but not the greatest.
