Our campus is crowded. It has okay infrastructure and studies good.
Placements: 70% of students got placed. The lowest package is 4 LPA. The highest salary is around 20 LPA. 20-30% of students got internships. A lot of competition is conducted among students as there are many students. Many students have a CGPA of 9 and above. It is necessary to maintain a CGPA of above 8 to get placements due to a lot of competition among students of the college.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is okay. Some hostels are very good as they are new but are expensive and clean. Attendance is taken at night in every hostel at around 9:30 PM. Everyone has to be in the hostel at the time of attendance otherwise there will be a fine and call to parents. Hostel wardens are generally strict.
Faculty: Our campus is crowded. Exams occur 3 times in the semester. Passing marks are 40 out of 100. A lot of students get back (fail) in exams, so they have to reappear and pay a hefty amount fee of Rs 6,000 per subject
to reappear in the subject. There are weekend semester and summer semester.

VIT in a nutshell, genuine review.
Placements: Approximately 70% of students are placed in my college, with the highest package being in crores and the lowest in 3-4 Lacs. Top recruiting companies include Google, Microsoft, and all top MNCs. There are internal opportunities from the college, but only students with a 9+ CGPA get them easily.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is up-to-date, though there are no ACs in theory classes. There are ACs and up-to-date equipment in all labs, and all types of facilities are easily available. The quality of hostel rooms depends on the type of room you take, such as how many beds and is AC or non-AC.
Faculty: Faculty members are very knowledgeable in their particular fields and have done their Masters and everything from many well-known universities across the country. The course curriculum is relevant, and it is updated almost every year according to the industry's needs.

Good college in terms of courses, teaching, infrastructure, and facilities.
Placements: Till November 2023, about 2500 students got offers out of 6,000 people from all 4 campuses. The highest package is 90 lakhs by MotorQ startup. The average package is around 7 lacs. Most of the companies gave an internship+full-time offer. Some companies only give full-time offers. The top roles they are offering are SDE, Analyst, Consultant, etc. Packages are divided into five categories. Slot1 (25 lakh+), Super Dream (9 lakh+), Dream (5 lakh+), Regular (3-5 lakhs).
Infrastructure: Hostels, labs and libraries have Wi-Fi facilities. Academic buildings have network jammers. There is no Wi-Fi in academic buildings. Hostels are fine. Some hostels have the facility of apartment-type rooms, where four rooms have shared bathrooms. Mess food is average. Most of the time, you will get South Indian food. We have more than 3–4 canteens inside campus.
Faculty: If enrolled in specialization courses, then from the 3rd year onwards, you will get courses related to specializations only. More focus on research and publishing research papers. Curriculum courses are up-to-date. In one semester, you have three exams. CAT1, CAT2, and FAT. In total, you have to complete around 150–160 credit courses in 4 years.
Other: As per the trend in technology, I chose CSE. The campus crowd is above the limit. The university has around 40K people, including faculty members, staff members, security guards and workers. Campus is greenary and well maintained. The college has many clubs for extracurricular activities. The nearest train station is Katpadi. The nearest airports are in Chennai and Bangalore.

VIT has a great placement record as compared to other private universities.
Placements: Around 80% of the students were placed. The highest salary package offered was 1Crore LPA, and the lowest salary package offered was 5 LPA. Microsoft, Wipro, TCS, and many other companies visit the campus. The roles offered were web developer and software developer.
Infrastructure: The hostel is pretty good. They have good food and a night canteen is available. They have badminton courts inside the hostel for each block. Wi-Fi is available at the hostel, library etc. The labs and classrooms are good. Medical facilities are available. Both AC and NON AC rooms are available.
Faculty: Teachers are qualified and knowledgeable. The course curriculum is a bit old. So they have three examinations CAT1, CAT 2 and FAT. They also have Digital Assignments and quizzes for internals. CAT 1 and CAT 2 have 15% weightage and FATs have 40 % weightage.

Placements: Placements are good in this college. The average salary package offered ranges from 6 LPA to 8 LPA. Many students get internships in their 3rd year. Top companies visit our college to hire students.
Infrastructure: In this college, classrooms are clean. Our campus environment is good for studies. Hostel rooms are also clean. R block is the new block. Wi-Fi speed is average between 2 Mbps - 5 Mbps.
Faculty: In this college, all teachers are Ph.D. scholars. They know how to teach and interact with students. We can choose our teachers which is a good thing. Semester exams are hectic. If students do not study from starting then it will be difficult.
Other: I chose this course because of my interest in this stream.

Review of Vellore Institute of Technology, Vellore.
Placements: In our course mostly all the students were placed. The highest package recorded last year was 78 LPA and the average package inclusive of all courses is 7-8 LPA. For CSE students the average package is usually 10-11 LPA. The top recruiting companies were Amazon, Microsoft, Adobe, MakeMyTrip, Seimens, Zomato, Intel, etc.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is available throughout the college in all academic buildings, cafeterias, and hostels. Multiple dongles have been seen throughout. There are projectors in the classroom, gallery, and labs that have new and best equipment too. The quality of food available in the mess was top notch and I don't think there was even a single case of anything similar to food poisoning for anyone and the mess maintains a lot of cleanliness too. All sports like football, cricket, badminton, squash, swimming, lawn/table tennis, etc. Facilities are available and there is also a hospital inside the campus.
Faculty: Most of the teachers are qualified and almost all of them hold a Ph.D. degree. The faculty members which had taught me mostly held a Ph.D. foreign degree and they are knowledgeable. The course curriculum is relevant, there are three major exams in a semester cat1, cqt2, and fat and all of them happen at a difference of 1.5 months. CAT stands for continuous assessment test 1 and far stands for the final assessment test. Cats are easy to pass but fast, students have to study hard.
Other: I chose this course because CSE is what everyone wants to study as it is the hot course nowadays. There are 2 fests in our college, the first is the tech fest Gravitas which happens in October and the second is the cultural fest Riviera which happens in January. There are scholarship mails from time to time and there is even a provision and freshers and seniors sports tournaments.

It is a good college with above average faculty, good placements, and very good infrastructure.
Placements: About 85% of students get placed in good jobs. The average salary package offered would be 8 LPA. Almost all top companies like Samsung and Amazon visit our campus to recruit. Some students get placed in very high roles that they even get about 40 LPA. There are many internship opportunities available in this college.
Infrastructure: VIT Vellore has a good infrastructure with 4 acres of lush green areas. There are 2 hostels for boys and 2 for girls. The food service is good but the cost is high. The food available is very good in quality. There are laboratories and libraries for the study of the students. There is Wi-Fi in laboratories, libraries, hostels, and classrooms. Cricket is played.
Faculty: Faculty members of our college are very friendly to the students to teach them the up-to-date learning procedure. Most of them are from IITs. Almost more than 70% of faculty members are Ph.D. degree holders. Most of the teachers are very helpful and knowledgeable. Many of them have industry experience also. They generally use a board to teach students while some teachers teach using PPTs. The course curriculum is well designed and is according to the industry needs. The pass percentage is around 40%. The highest salary offered is Rs.200000 per month.
Other: There are events conducted throughout the year like fests, club/chapter events, and for freshers: an orientation session. The fresher party is generally not given as there are so many students that these parties will surely create chaos. But if you want one, join any of the clubs where party culture is generally prevalent.

It is a very good college. I am satisfied with VIT.
Placements: Nearly about 85% of students were placed from VIT, Vellore last year. The highest salary package offered was 70 LPA. Top recruiting companies here are Amazon, PayPal, Microsoft, Google, etc. Internships are a necessity. So mostly, more than half of the students managed to get good internships. The top role offered in our course was web development.
Infrastructure: Our college infrastructure is much better than other colleges. The department is not very far from the main building. High-speed Wi-Fi is available in the hostel and also in every canteen area. Library facility and canteen facility are also available. The library is not accessible for 24 hours, but two canteens are open at alternative timing.
Faculty: Teachers here are highly educated and experienced. They don't take revenge on students for their misbehaviour with them. B.Tech in CSE has a great future, and most of the highest salary packages are offered from this course only. The toughness of semester exams is not very high but average. The pass percentage is 35%.
Other: I chose B.Tech in CSE because the future of this course is better, and the highest salary packages are offered from this branch only. Many events are organised in our college. The main event is Rivera, and many other small events are organised. At a time, nearly about 36,000 students study in our college. Scholarships are based on VITEEE entrance exam. 100% scholarships are not offered except for board or academically state-level top students. Every kind of co-curricular activity is available on the campus such as gym, swimming, etc.

Hey Shruti, yes this is a new branch and there are no official details about the number of seats. I would suggest you keep a check on your emails where VIT would send you detailed information regarding the number of seats and categories.

There is no UG which is offered by VIT called CSE specialization in Data Science. There is only CSE specialization in Data Analytics.

All B.Tech CSE branches will be filled within 4k ranks. In-order to get a seat you need to be in top 2k ranks.
In 2018, CSE seats were filled within the first 3k ranks.

Yes, you will get this branch but under second or third category in which you have to pay more for that. Let me explain you the admission system here. Rank in VIT to get admission should be 90,000, so you can get admission in VIT from the 6th category as well. There are various categories as well. W
