Why is NATA easier than JEE Main Paper 2?
NATA is easier than JEE Main Paper 2 for many students because of the following reasons.
Type of Questions: Many questions in NATA assess the creativity and visual judgement instead of multistep calculations. In the drawing sections, marks are given for clarity, originality and presentation. Whereas the JEE Main Paper 2 involves mathematical calculations.

Focus and Scope: NATA mainly focus on evaluating the drawing ability, observation skills, basic mathematics, proportion, perspective and architectural awareness. NATA syllabus is relatively focused and emphasises design and visual aptitude.

The authorities will release the details about the allotted NATA exam centre through tadmit card. Candidates will be able to check details regarding their allotted exam centre address, date, timings, guidelines and more from the admit card of NATA. Before reporting to exam centre, candidates are advised to carefully check the details present in the NATA admit card. In case of any mistakes in the admit card, the candidates are advised to immediately contact the authorities.
As per NATA exam pattern, medium of the question paper will be English and Hindi. The candidates will be able to know detailed information regarding the medium of languages through the NATA 2025 question paper. CoA conducts NATA annually to select candidats who are eligible for BArch admission into the participating institutes. As per NATA 2026 exam pattern, exam duration will be 3 hours. Candidates must complete entrance examination within time allotted. Authorities will not give any extra time to candidates to complete entrance exam. Candidates must improve time management skills so that they can complete the exam.
Skill Requirement: The skill requirement is different for both exams. Clearing the NATA exam will depend on the spatial visualisation, freehand sketching, composition and basic arithmetic rather than advanced mathematics or physics. Students with strong artistic skills and design abilities often find NATA more manageable.

Plan Preparation Accordingly: For JEE Main, focus more on mathematical concepts and practice timed problem solving. For NATA, focus on freehand drawing, proportions, design concepts and history of architecture.

Applicants have to pay a fee for submitting NATA application form. Fee for NATA application form is INR 1750 for General/OBC category, INR 1250 for SC.ST/PwD category students, and INR 1000 for transgender students.
