Uniform Code in SASTRA Deemed University

Students must wear their identity cards while entering the campus and when they are inside their respective classrooms.

Dress code in SASTRA Deemed University

SASTRA Deemed University follows a dress code for all working days in a week. On the first five weekdays such as Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday both girls and boys must wear formals. This formal attire includes neat, ironed shirts and pants for boys including formal polished shoes and belts. Girls must wear neat and formal cotton churidars with sandals. On Saturday, casual dress is allowed for students. Casual wear comprises decent shirts and jeans with normal slippers or crocs or sneakers for boys and casual churidars or tops and jeans with casual footwear for girls. While entering the laboratories, both boys and girls should wear overcoat and shoes for safety purposes.

Features of the Attire

  • Formal attire is mandatory on the weekdays.
  • Boys must wear ironed shirts & pants, with formal polished shoes and belts.
  • Female students can wear regular cotton churidars with footwear. Sleeveless shirts or tops are not allowed to wear inside the academic block for both boys and girls.
  • Sleeve length should be three inches for girls and five inches for boys.
  • On Saturday, casual wear comprises normal t-shirts and jeans with footwear for males.
  • Casual churidars or t-shirts and denim with sandals for girls are allowed.
  • Dresses of both boys and girls must cover the whole body.
  • For both boys and girls, a nightdress is to be worn only inside the hostels.
  • Colour of the dress is not specific; however, the dress colours must be pleasing to the eyes.

ID cards are Mandatory

All the students receive their identification cards when the course starts, i.e., two weeks after the photograph of the student is clicked. Students must wear their identity cards while entering the campus and also when they are inside their respective classrooms.

Uniform in Laboratories

SASTRA Deemed University has a uniform for students in the laboratories. A brown coloured overcoat is compulsory to be worn before entering the laboratories. This is applicable to both boys and girls.

Dress Code Prohibited Inside the Campus

Inside the campus and academic blocks, students are allowed to wear neat dresses that cover their whole body. Expensive jewellery products are strictly prohibited because of safety purposes. Piercing studs on one side of ears for boys and tattoos are not allowed.

Exemptions on the Special Occasions

At SASTRA Deemed University, various occasions and events are celebrated. Special occasions such as Diwali and Pongal and events such as Daksh, Kuruksastra and college cultural festivals are celebrated. The dress code for all events and occasions is not the same as on normal days. It is based on the theme of the events.

If you will take addmission only with IPE scores then you are likely to get seat of CSE, ECE, or mechanical branch .If you will take admission via IPE and JEE scores then you are get a seat in ECE.It depends on you by which path you chose to get admission.

With 95.5% in IPE and 90 percentile in JEE Mains, your combined score is strong enough for SASTRA’s ECE cutoff in recent years.

Past admissions show students with slightly lower marks have still got ECE.
