CUET UG 2022 Phase 2 exam commenced on August 4. The difficulty level of the exam was easy to moderate but there were massive technical malfunctioning which caused trouble among students.
NTA began the CUET UG 2022 Phase 2 exam on August 4 amid severe technical snags. Although candidates were of the opinion that the difficulty level of the exam was easy to moderate level, they were unable to complete all the sections, especially the General Test, owing to the server error. However, they found the difficulty level to be of easy to moderate difficulty level across the subjects opted for.

In terms of coverage of topics, students stated that the questions were covered uniformly across the syllabus and were on the expected lines. The types of questions were also at a conceptual level and not too in-depth or tricky.

Challenges Faced by CUET UG 2022 Phase 2 Candidates
Overall, it can be said that candidates did not face many challenges in terms of the qualitative aspect of the CUET UG 2022, but in terms of the technical aspect, wherein there were a number of technical glitches in terms of loading the questions on the screen, mismatch in terms of the language of questions or domain subject-specific questions.

NTA prescribes the CUET UG marking scheme. Check below to know the CUET UG marking scheme 2026:
- Correct answer or the most appropriate answer: Five marks (+5)
- Any incorrect option marked will be given minus one mark (-1).
- Unanswered/Marked for Review will be given no mark (0).
- If more than one option is found to be correct then Five marks (+5) will be awarded to only those who have marked any of the correct options.
- If all options are found to be correct then Five marks (+5) will be awarded to all those who have attempted the question.
- If none of the options is found correct or a question is found to be wrong or a question is dropped, then all candidates who have attempted the dropped question will be given five marks (+5) marks.
Yes. There is a negative marking in the CUET exam. For each wrong answer, one mark is deducted. Negative marking will not be applicable in case of unattempted questions. The marking scheme as per NTA is given below.

CUET normalisation procss refers to a process of adjusting scores inbterms difficulty between different sessions of CUET exam. The normalization process does not reduce marks for students. It aims to adjust scores. CUET Normalization might involve scaling scores, adjusting grade, or applying techniques to make sure that difficulty level of the assessment doesn't disadvantage any particular group of students.

Marking scheme: Candidates will be awarded one mark for each correct answer. There will be a negative marking of 0.25 mark for each incorrect answer.
Now we will analyse the sections of CUET 2022.
CUET UG 2022 Analysis – Section I
Section1 is the Language Test, which is further divided into two sub-sections. The question types comprised of Reading Comprehension and vocabulary. The difficulty level of this section was easy. The passages were of moderate length and the language was simple and lucid, which provided ease to candidates.
CUET UG 2022 Analysis – Section II
The second section was on the Domain subjects opted for by the candidates. This section did not pose a challenge to candidates as not only were the questions within the CUET UG 2022 syllabus, but the question types were straightforward and similar to what they faced in the Board exam. The topics were covered uniformly across chapters which gave them ample option to choose the questions in which they were confident in.
CUET UG 2022 Analysis – Section III
The third section of CUET 2022 was General Test. On the first day of the CUET UG 2022 Phase 2, the General Test could not be opted by candidates due to technical malfunction. Based on Phase 1, it can be assumed that the difficulty level of the exam or the question types will be on the easier lines. The areas from which the questions are asked include General Knowledge or Current Affairs, Numerical Ability (Basic Mathematics) and Logical and Analytical Reasoning.
CUET UG 2022 Phase 2 Student Reactions
Here we bring some of the student reactions of those who appeared for the CUET UG Phase 2 Day 1.
Kashika: I appeared for English, Mathematics, Mass Media and General Test. The difficulty level of the questions was moderate. In Mathematics, the questions were from the CBSE syllabus of Class 12 Board exam which I had recently appeared for. The English questions were generic in nature and did not require any specific preparation.
Shreya: I opted for the English, Accountancy, Entrepreneurship and General Test. I could not attempt the General Test as the questions were not available from the Central Server. The difficulty level of English was the easiest. The Accountancy and Entrepreneurship questions were of moderate difficulty level. I am hoping to get admission to SRCC, DU.
Anjali: The difficulty level of the exam was moderate. I could attempt all 40 questions from the Language and Domain-Specific sections.
Guneet: The difficulty level of the exam was very easy and my performance was better than expected. Questions were conceptual and did not test in-depth knowledge. The topics were uniformly distributed from the syllabus. I had opted for the subjects Accountancy and Psychology. From the former, maximum questions were from Partnership.
Arjun: The difficulty level of the exam was really easy. Some of the questions were of moderate level. I appeared for Political Science, Mass Media, and the Language/English test. Although I had opted for General Test but could not attempt it due to the system malfunction. I attempted all 40 questions from the first two sections.
Rupsa: I had selected Physics and Painting subjects along with English and General Test. The level of the exam was easy to moderate. English was the easiest section. Physics and Painting were of moderate level. The questions were based on the syllabus.
Owing to the technical snags, the second shift of the exam was cancelled and the first phase of the affected centres has been postponed to August 12. Earlier, the exam for the first three days was cancelled in the Kerala centres due to heavy rain. The updated exam dates will be announced later on.
