IPMAT Indore vs IPMAT Rohtak: Out of the 21 IIMs, the IIM Indore and IIM Rohtak conduct the IPMAT exam for admission to the Integrated Program in Management (IPM). These two institutes conduct their own IPM entrance exams, IPMAT Indore and IPMAT Rohtak, to select the students for the IPM programme in India after Class 12. IPMAT Indore includes both multiple choice questions as well as subjective questions, whereas IPMAT Rohtak only has multiple choice questions with an additional section on Logical Reasoning. Integrated Program in Management course is a five year integrated programme, which was first offered by the prestigious Indian Institute of Management Indore in 2011. IIM Indore, being the instigator of the IPM programme in India, holds a stronger reputation, more established placement options and a tougher selection process. IPMAT Indore scores are also accepted by some of the top management colleges in India, including IIM Shillong, IIM Amritsar, IIM Ranchi, Indian Institute of Foreign Trade, Kakinada, etc.

The IPMAT 2026 is scheduled to be conducted on May 4, 2026. The exam will be conducted by IIM Indore in the CBT test format. The IPMAT Rohtak exam date 2026 is May 10, 2026, also in the computer based test mode. IIM Rohtak will conduct the exam for two hours.

Even though there are several similarities between the two exams, there are differences too.

The reason why students get confused between IPMAT Indore and IPMAT Rohtak is because of the similarity in the name of the programme and the exam. Both the courses offered by these institutes are 5 year IPM programme. There is also an overlap in the IPMAT syllabus and exam pattern. Both exams have three sections. But the IPM Rohtak exam has an additional section, i.e. Logical Reasoning, apart from the two common sections- Quantitative Aptitude and Verbal Ability. 

With the growing reputation of IIM Rohtak, students find IPMAT Rohtak as an easier alternative to IPMAT exam conducted by IIM Indore. IPMAT Indore and IPMAT Rohtak are both conducted at the national level and ensure a uniformity that the candidates are evaluated fairly and on a uniform basis. This makes these two entrance exams highly competitive and popular among students seeking UG courses. 

The IPM exams lay emphasis on the overall evaluation of the candidature. IPMAT Indore scores are accepted by some of the top management institutes, including IIM Indore, IIM Ranchi, IIM Sirmaur, and private institutes such as TA Pai Management Institute, Department of Management Studies, and NALSAR University, etc. On the other hand, IPMAT Rohtak scores are accepted only by the Indian Institute of Management, Rohtak, for admission to its 5 year IPM course.

The institutes have put the marking scheme the same for both exams. Students planning to take the IPMAT Rohtak exam have to prepare for the Logical Reasoning section, apart from the other two sections included in the IIM Indore IPMAT as well.
