The reason why students get confused between IPMAT Indore and IPMAT Rohtak is because of the similarity in the name of the programme and the exam. Both the courses offered by these institutes are 5-year IPM programme. Hence, the institutes offering IPM identify students who excel academically and also possess soft skills required for effective and clear communication and leadership. 

The IPMAT exam, conducted by IIM Indore, is a highly popular management entrance exam. IPMAT Rohtak is conducted by IIM Rohtak and is a little less popular. Although the syllabus of IPMAT and IPMAT Rohtak are the same (apart from Logical Reasoning), the type of questions and difficulty levels differ. IPMAT Indore scores are accepted by some of the top management institutes, including IIM Indore, IIM Ranchi, IIM Sirmaur, and private institutes such as TA Pai Management Institute, Department of Management Studies, and NALSAR University, etc. On the other hand, IPMAT Rohtak scores are accepted only by the Indian Institute of Management, Rohtak, for admission to its 5-year IPM course.

The institutes have put the marking scheme the same for both exams. Students planning to take the IPMAT Rohtak exam have to prepare for the Logical Reasoning section, apart from the other two sections included in the IIM Indore IPMAT as well. Also, to prepare for either of the exams, students are required to adjust their preparation strategy according to the exam they are planning to take to ensure thorough preparation.
