- Candidates should have appeared for IPMAT 2026
- Candidates should have been born on or after July 1, 2006 (5-year relaxation for SC/ST/DA candidates)
- Candidates should have secured a minimum of 60% aggregate in Class 10 and Class 12 or equivalent (55% for reserved categories)
- Candidates who are likely to complete Class 12 by July 31, 2026, can also apply provisionally
- Candidates must have studied mathematics in Class 11 and Class 12
- Candidates who pursued/are pursuing Class 10 and Class 12 from an international board, such as IGCSE (International General Certificate for Secondary Education) and IB (International Baccalaureate) can also apply and will be required to produce 'The IB Indian Percentage Transcript"

Candidates can follow the process below to know how to apply for IPM programme at IIM Shillong:
- Go to the website of IIM Shillong and click on the programmes tab and choose the IPM programme
- Click on the Admission Process tab and click on the 'Apply Here to Apply' link
- Enter the required details, such as Name of the candidate, mobile number, email address, state, course, etc. and click on 'Register'
- Verify the email ID and login using the email ID and password
- Click on the 'Apply Now' button and fill in the details such as photograph, IPMAT application number, APAAR ID number, date of birth, address, etc.
