The Army Institute of Law, Mohali will begin the AIL LET Application Process 2026 anytime soon. Candidates who wish to apply for AIL LET exam can visit ail.ac.in. Aspirants must make sure that they submit the AIL LET Application Form 2026 on or before the deadline. Candidates must check the AIL LET Eligibility Criteria before applying for the exam.

A: 

There are three main categories of candidates under the Wards of Army Personel in the AIL LET eligibility. The applicants accordingly must fall under one of the following categories:

(a) Army Personnel ( Certificate No. I)

(b) Adopted/Step Ward and Ward of Remarried Widows (Certificate No. I & II)

(c) Eligibility Criteria in Special Cases (Certificate No. III)

Q:   Which candidates come under "Wards of All India General Category other than Punjab Residents" for AIL LET exam?
A: 

Candidates who meet the following criteria come under the Wards of All India General Category Other than Punjab Residents in AIL LET eligibility criteria:

(a) Children of citizens of India or persons of Indian origin, who intend to settle permanently in India and have obtained citizenship before admission to AIL

(b) Residential Proof: Domicile Certificate of the state to which student belongs (other than from the state of Punjab)

Candidates must meet the AIL LET 2026 Eligibility Criteria to appear in the exam. Those who will not be eligibile will not be offered admission to BA LLB and LLM programmes by the institute. Check the eligibility criteria below:

Q:   What is the eligibility criteria for AIL LET?
A: 

The AIL LET eligibility criteria 2026 are mentioned below: 

A candidate who has passed 10+2 examination from Punjab School Education Board or any other equivalent examination recognized as such by the Punjabi University, Patiala, securing at least 45% marks vide Punjabi University Letter No.216468/Meeting-4 dated 7 May 2004. The applicants who have obtained 10+2 through open university systems directly, without having any basic qualifications for pursuing such studies, are not eligible for admission in Law Courses.

A: 

Yes, there is a reservation policy for seats in AIL LET (Army Institute of Law Entrance Test). It is for some categories as per government regulations.

How to fill AIL LET 2026 Application Form?

Online Registration 

  • Visit the official website of the Army Institute of Law and click on the ‘Online Registration’ link - ail.ac.in. 
  • Enter the details such as name, father’s name, date of birth, email ID and password.
  • Generate an OTP after filling out the details required for registration and enter the given security PIN to finish the registration process.
  • Verify the details entered for the registration (if the details are correct) as shown in the following image.

  • After registration, candidates will get AIL LET 2026 registration number and password/login ID/user ID and password on their email ID as well as mobile number.

Fill up the Application Form

  • Candidates can log in again using their registration ID and password to fill up their application details as under:
  • Personal details - category, parents' detail
  • Contact information - phone number, alternative phone number, address and other details
  • Academic qualification - class 12th marks, school name, education board name etc.
  • Fill all the details and proceed to the next step of AIL LET application form.

Pay the Application Fee

  • Candidates can pay the application fee - INR 3300 in online mode only using  Internet banking, Debit/Credit Card options. 
  • The offline mode of application fee payment has been discontinued. 
  • The fee status will be updated in the applicant account and the candidate can proceed to the next step once it is successful.

Submit the AIL LET Application Form

  • After uploading the documents, candidates have to cross-check the filled in application for any errors, if found any then correct them.
  • Candidates have to submit the application form in online mode only.
  • Candidates will not be able to make any changes in the application form once it has been submitted. 
  • After the form has been submitted a confirmation message will appear on the screen for 'form successfully submitted'. 
  • Candidates can download the submitted application form and get printouts of the same for future references.

AIL LET 2026 entrance exam will be held in May 2026 tentatively. It happens every year for admission to 3-year and 5-year LLB or LLM programs in the months of May or June.

Congratulations on being a class 12th board topper. You must participate in the AIL LET counselling process to secure admission, as direct, merit-based admission for board toppers is not the standard procedure for Army personnel seats. AIL LET scores are used to create a merit list for counseling.
