VITLEE 2026: Application Process, Exam Pattern, Syllabus

The Vellore Institute of Technology Law Entrance Examination (VITLEE) is conducted for admission to Undergraduate Law Programmes at VIT Chennai. VITLEE is conducted across 53 cities in India. It enrolls students in various undergraduate courses like; B.A. LLB, BBA L.L.B (Hons.), offered at the Chennai Campus. 

The syllabus for VITLEE includes questions from five areas namely English, GK and current affairs, logical reasoning. The VITLEE exam will be held for admission to the Law courses offered at the Vellore Institute of Technology. The VITLEE 2026 exam is conducted in pen-and-paper mode.

The VITLEE 2026 registration process is already underway. The application process that started on 30 November 2025, will go on till 12 April, 2026. Candidates need to enter their personal, academic, and contact details when filling out the VITLEE application form, before the last date.

The eligibility criteria for VITLEE 2026 are

·      Must be Indian Nationals

·      Candidates born on or after July 1, 2004

·      Class 12 exam from recognised board with Physics, Chemistry, and Math/Biology. 70% aggregate marks (10% relaxation for SC/ST candidates and candidates from Jammu and Kashmir/ Ladakh and the North Eastern States of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura.

The VITLEEE 2026 exam contains 100 questions from sections like English, General Knowledge and Current Affairs, Logical Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, Legal Reasoning. VITLEEE 2026 questions are from sections namely English, GK and current affairs, logical reasoning, quantitative aptitude, and legal reasoning.

Students should cover NCERT (Class 11 & 12) books to form a solid base for Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, covering fundamental concepts. Apart from this, students can refer to Concepts of Physics by H.C. Verma, Comprehensive Physics by V.K. Puri, Organic Chemistry by O.P. Tandon/Morrison Boyd, Objective Mathematics by R.D. Sharma, Integral Calculus by Amit Aggarwal, English & General Aptitude by Disha Experts, among others.

The admit card is a mandatory document to be carried to the examination hall. Candidates must carry a valid ID proof along with a copy of admit card, on the day of the examination.
