The most beautiful college of my life.

Placements: The highest package offered in this course is 8 LPA, the lowest is 2 LPA with an average of 4 LPA. Many core companies visit to recruit students for my course. Minimum score of 80% is required for the students to get internships in corporate companies. HR, Sr. Manager, Jr. Manager are the roles offered.

Infrastructure: There are many facilities along with a good infrastructure available for my course. There is a high-speed Wi-Fi connection, smart boards, tables, clean classrooms and a laboratory provided by the college. The library is fully packed with several books mainly for this course and it is fully furnished.

Faculty: The teachers are very helpful, qualified and knowledgeable. Their teaching methods are excellent. The course curriculum is relevant and it also makes the student industry ready. The semester exams are very tough in this college. The minimum passing percentage is 45%. .

Other: I love this subject that's why I chose this course. The management staff’s behaviour should be improved in the near future. The College conducted an annual fest and ECONOVISTA, the departmental fest.

Good college among public colleges in Kolkata.

Placements: Around 50% of people were interested in getting placed in my batch, and most of the others were pursuing higher degrees. The top companies recruiting were TCs, Kotak, Mutal Fund, and ICICI Mutual Fund. Most of the students who got placed are doing a traineeship and some are doing full-time jobs in the above-mentioned companies. Roles offered were Sales executive, marketing manager, and Bps program.

Infrastructure: There is more than 5 to 6 Wi-Fi available on the campus, the library is decent enough most of the books needed for the desired subjects are available. Classrooms are spacious and made of wooden benches and tables giving you a feeling of a retro old Kolkata vibe. I never opted for the hostel because I live nearby but I have heard good reviews regarding the college hostel. As for sports, the Asutosh Premier League is quite famous among students its an array of a list of games such as football, badminton, cricket and so on played every year, it's like a sports day you had in your school.

Faculty: The teachers are quite knowledgeable and good at what they are teaching. The faculty in the economics department is really good. Economics is a conceptual subject it doesn't have a definite industry but the concepts are been seen through properly so that a student can get into finance or management easily after the course. The semester isn't that hard yet it's not easy I would say. The type of answers one has to write should be long enough and the examiner should understand that your concepts are clear only then you can score high marks. The pass percentage is 40%. Attendance should be 75%.

Other: I liked economics since class 9, I had a keen interest in the financial world, and economics is its core. I think more relatable content, and real-life examples should be put into the syllabus apart from the thesis of great economists. In Events, we had our college fests, freshers program, and farewell every year. It's fun, celebrities are invited, the auditorium is decorated and you will enjoy college life. There are no grounds in the college, the official ground of the college is located a bit far from the college so that's a drawback I felt. There are many extracurricular activities such as NCC join, different political clubs you can join, there is the student union you can be a part of. College is surrounded by The Chittaranjan Hospital and the Bhawanipur Police station, so it's a safe place to study there. The college is adjacent to the Jatin das park metro station making the connectivity much easier for the students.

Absolutely satisfied because of this college & this department.

Placements: 90% of students get placement through this course. I can't say the highest package, but if you do an M.Sc. from a good institute, you will get more than 20 LPA. Top companies are Tata, Amazon, and Microsoft. If you have 60% marks, you will get SVCM. If you get more than 90%, you will also get a scholarship.

Infrastructure: Ashutosh College is a very good college in Kolkata. Their facilities and infrastructure are also very good. The statistics department has its own lab with more than 30 computers. The classrooms are also neat and clean. Students can take books from the college library. They have free Wi-Fi for students. Those who are not from Kolkata can easily find a hostel. The college has a very good canteen. You can eat everything from here, and the food quality is very good.

Faculty: The teachers are very helpful. They teach us very well. Yes, it makes students industry-ready. There are a total of 8 semesters in 4 years. The semester exams are quite tough. If you get 30% marks in the theory exam and 30% marks in the practical exam, you will pass the paper.

Other: This course has a bright future. The best thing about this course is that it is related to real life. Adding some more programming languages, this course will be awesome. Events, fests, etc., are a part of the college, and if you are from Ashutosh College, you don't need to worry about anything.

Review of Asutosh College.

Placements: After B.Sc., placements are not possible. As per my knowledge, the college has a placement cell and that organises campus interviews to facilitate job proposals for the final year students. Students get quality opportunities to get placed in a different way.

Infrastructure: Asutosh College is the only college in South Kolkata which has hostel facilities. It has two hostels for boys and girls. However, the available seats are insufficient to meet the needs of all intending boarders. Seats are allotted strictly on the merit cum distance basis. The college has a well stocked library and reading room facilities. Wi-Fi is available but not so good. Classrooms are spacious.

Faculty: The course curriculum is based on the curriculum made by University of Calcutta which is guided by UGC. Teachers are highly knowledgeable, qualified and caring indeed. They guide students in every aspect to be successful in life. Besides the teaching staff, non-teaching staffs are very helpful as well.

Other: An annual cultural fest called Udaan is conducted by the college every year. Connectivity is the best. The college is situated beside the Jatin Das Park metro gate. Bus and auto facilities are also present. There is a bus stop in front of the college gate, and the college is just 200 metres away from Hazra More.

It has excellent teachers with good infrastructure but poor placements.

Placements: There isn't a particular placement cell. However, for a few departments like economics and statistics, some companies visited here. The salary package offered is around 2-3 LPA. Although this year, the corona pandemic happened, so new job creation is nearly impossible.

Infrastructure: Our college provides us with all the facilities such as Wi-Fi, laboratories, library and even an E-library. A range of books is found here, which helps us to improve our outer knowledge. Yearly several sporting events are also held, which helps students to showcase their talents.

Faculty: Teachers are very helpful and ready to answer our queries. We get to learn topics and information beyond our books and syllabus which help us in future. This course curriculum is relevant, and our syllabus covers all the points which make us industry-ready.

Other: I have chosen this course because economics has a mixture of mathematics, statistics and theoretical studies, which enhances our educational skills. Our department is invited to several economic seminars and events which enlarges our circle and knowledge.

Candidates who has passed the 10+2 or its equivalent examination is eligible to apply provided he/she has also passed in English having full marks not being less than 100. No candidate shall be allowed for admission after a lapse of more than 3 years from the year of passing the previous qualifying examination or discontinuation of recognized regular Course of Study after passing the previous qualifying examination. For the purpose of determining eligibility for admission to the Honours Course, aggregate marks shall be calculated by adding the marks in top-four subjects in order of marks secured by a candidate. However, marks in compulsory Environmental Education /Studies shall not be taken into account for calculation of aggregate marks. Candidate must have aggregate 50%, passed in Mathematics.
