BIT Sindri (Dhanbad), campus, structure, placement, environment, facilities, and faculty.
Placements: Approximately 90 percent of students got placed from my branch. In all good companies, the highest package is 40 LPA, my friend got that. Top recruiting companies are Tata and Reliance. 90 percent of students in my branch got placed in good companies. Most of them are placed in Tata or Reliance. We got a surveyor role.
Infrastructure: In BIT Sindri, almost every facility is available. The infrastructure is also top notch. Wi-Fi is available in the whole campus. A huge library is also available. Classrooms are also very big. The quality of our hostel is top-notch. Quality of food is very good. Medical facilities, sports, and games are also available.
Faculty: Teachers in our college are highly qualified. They are also helpful in our studies. They also used to give us life advice. This course is very relevant. It makes us industry-ready. 10/10 in my opinion. The semester exam in BIT Sindri is not so difficult. The passing criteria is 50 percent.
Other: I had an interest in Mechanical engineering. It has a very vast syllabus. I would like to improve it. The surroundings of BIT Sindri are incredible. We also got a scholarship on time. The campus is very large and beautiful.

Good ROI. Best for core branches.
Placements: It is okay. Companies do come with small packages of 3-4 LPA, while some offer 7-8 LPA packages. Students do get placed, but because of the large number of students, including all tech branches, the chances are comparatively lower. Companies come, but the number of job opportunities available is limited.
Infrastructure: The mess quality is good. They do not serve junk food, and although the variety is not very diverse. The food is better compared to many other colleges. There are mostly no power cuts, and hygiene is maintained. The required infrastructure for the course is available, but it is not used as much as it could be. It is mainly used for practical purposes.
Faculty: Faculty is good. The exam and result can be late. The syllabus includes an internship every year. The syllabus is common to other colleges, but never in depth. It is really good if you can self-study. You can manage a lot of time for skill learning. The exam can be managed from the previous year. But managing CGPA is hard.
Other: The campus area is not very good. Many times, you have to travel even for small items required for projects. The cost of living is very low and provides many opportunities. Students should join clubs and societies to build networks. After the first year, most students do not attend college regularly. It is actually a good college for tech if you can manage your skills, as it gives you enough time to improve and advance.

Great ROI and a pretty decent college if you are looking to spend your 4 years here.
Placements: Placements are decent, but the most important thing here is ROI. For the 2021-25 batch, the average package was 7.9 LPA, while the top 10 percent of students got 13 LPA. The highest package offered is from Vedanta of 17 LPA in the core sector, while AWS offered 28 LPA in the IT sector. More than 50 companies visited the campus, and most of the students got placed.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure was outdated a few years ago, but now it's been upgraded at a good pace. New hostels have been built for first-year boys also, a new academic complex and R&D centre are also coming up along with a SAC for the students entering in 2026. Labs are outdated in some departments, but they have been improving in the last few years, and it will only get better with time. Sports facilities are decent and not great. We do have 3-4 grounds in our campus and almost every hostel has a volleyball court, while the club ground has a basketball court
Faculty: There is a shortage of faculty in almost every department. Exams are mostly delayed, while the results also come out late. The curriculum follows NEP, so it is relevant in modern times. The exams are not that difficult to pass, if you study even a few days before exams, you'll end up with a decent SGPA.
Other: The campus crowd is good, it all depends on your friends group. Fests are limited, but now the college life is improving, and also ragging is minimal now, so freshers don't need to worry about that. There are lots of clubs which organise events, so make sure you participate in every event you get a chance because the opportunities to showcase your talent are limited.

The relevant review for the Mechanical Engineering branch in BIT Sindri.
Placements: Hello everyone, I am in the Mechanical Engineering branch of B.Tech at Birsa Institute of Technology Sindri in the Dhanbad district of Jharkhand. The placement rate for my branch last year was around 95%. The highest package is 18 LPA. The lowest package is 5 LPA, and the average package is 8 LPA for the Mechanical Engineering branch. The top recruiting companies are Tata Steel, Vedanta, JSW, JSL, L&T, etc. Around 50% of students get internships at companies such as Tata Motors, Larsen & Toubro (L&T), Vedanta, Adani, etc. Assistant Manager, Graduate Engineer Trainee, Maintenance Engineer, etc., are the top roles offered.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the Mechanical Engineering department is a bit old, but unique and antique. We have very good labs and good faculty members. The most highlighted ones are the newly constructed lecture halls and classes, which are state-of-the-art and comparable to IITs. The new hostels for students are very good and modern, similar to NIT standards. The mess food is also very good but a bit overpriced.
Faculty: Teachers are very qualified and knowledgeable. Most of them are helpful. The quality of teaching is also good. You will understand better if you ask doubts or request explanations for the parts you are unable to understand. The course is relevant and industry-ready, but students must study diligently. The semester exams are conducted by JUT. So the papers are mostly of medium difficulty.

Good college great placement in low feels.
Placements: For core, it's very good for metallurgical, mining, mechanical, and electrical engineering; these are the best branches of the college. In metallurgy, there is 100% placement for eligible candidates. Top companies like Tata Steel, Vedanta, JSW, JSPL, and Reliance visit the campus for our branch, along with other companies, for placements and internships. Overall, it's very good for metallurgical engineering; the average is around 7-8 LPA, and the highest is 14.5 LPA, which is the same as NIT JSR. So, it's a very good college.
Infrastructure: Nice hostels for the first year. For the second year, they are a bit old, but again, they are good. For the third and final year, there is a good library and mess (not too good, but average, like every hostel). There is a cafeteria, a Nescafé shop, and some vendor shops on campus. Free medical facilities are available, but the health center is open for specific times. There are also good sports facilities.
Faculty: The curriculum is the same as that of other engineering colleges. Faculty members are good, but don't mess with them. It's not too hard to score a CGPA if you are not too dumb. So you can enjoy as well. Semester exams are easy, and almost everyone passes. You have to do it by yourself; teachers will only help a little, but that's still not too hard. Seniors are helpful if you can make good bonds with them.
Other: Due to being one of the oldest branches, the labs and department are very old. I think they should be renovated or reconstructed. Festivals happen, but not too many clubs are available for co-curricular activities and passions. You will get good guidance here. There are many good things and bad things that are part of every campus. But due to being a very old reputed college, you will get great exposure here.

College placements and hostel facilities. A deep dive into a well-known government institution.
Placements: B.Tech course in Civil Engineering is a rigorous discipline. The first year is common throughout. Core subjects are taken strictly from the 3rd semester. With advanced labs and equipment, highly trained engineers are expected after course completion. However, knowledge and discipline have nothing to do with placements. At BIT Sindri, with a limited number of companies. The job scenario has not improved much since independence. The Civil Engineering department has around 150 students, including both male and female candidates, and on average around 50 get placed.
Infrastructure: After the new hostel construction, 2 students share a single room, but this changes in the 2nd, 3rd, and final years. No Wi-Fi is provided. The quality of food in the mess is decent but not up to the mark. In each hostel, students are assigned a mess incharge to take care of the food served.
Faculty: Teachers are knowledgeable and understand their subjects well. However, since BIT is recognised under JUT, delays are inevitable. Students often receive results after an entire year of their semester. Exams are also frequently delayed. For example, in this year, being in the 4th semester, only the result of the 1st semester has been declared.
Other: This college is best from a value-for-money perspective. It is typically best for Mechanical and Electrical branches. Internal politics does exist here, with Mechanical being highly preferred over other branches. The SPOC (Special Point of Contact), who is the head of the placement coordinators. It is usually selected from Mechanical without considering other branches. However, if you have a good friend circle, life is enjoyable and you can enjoy your time at BIT.

A:

The main thing that matters the most here is the rank. If you have a good rank then of course you can.

Eligibility:

The minimum eligibility is 50% in 12th and JEECE rank or JEE Main rank.

Cutoff:

Cutoff in BIT Sindri is quite competitive, and it gets more competitive with time. Last year the maximum rank which they accepted was 181000 wherein previous year of that maximum was 185000.

Recommendation: The safer side will be 1lakh or less rank in JEE Main. If you got that congratulations but if you didn't get it still try to contact and talk to them. If they have extra seat in any quota then they can manage.
