Decent placements, dull college life, and hectic classes.
Placements: I would say the placements are average. Mostly, the data shows that 11 LPA is the median. But the official data also shows that a huge number of students were not available for placements. Most of the time, this case is seen in IIITs. But the official told us that the data included only on-campus, and many get off-campus placements too.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is quite good, as the college is still new and only a decade old. However, there are only two buildings, one for the classes and the other for the office staff. Also, two hostels, one for students and the other for the facilities. But the path that students have to walk from the hostel to classes is too long and tiring. Also, cycles are not there for long-distance travel, which I have seen in VNIT Nagpur.
Faculty: The lectures are good and have a surplus of knowledge. However, it is not always the case that one who knows can also teach. Some of the teachers put their heart into teaching, while others just come for formality, tiring the students and themselves. I would say the courses are relevant and help to build the knowledge and basics required in the industry.
Other: As I am from Nagpur and had a low percentile to get a tech branch in VNIT, I chose this. The campus life is almost zero if you are a day scholar like me, but for hostels, it might be gold. Many events like the summit, cultural fest, sports event, and technical fest take place. But do not expect them to be like the ones that you see in top institutes like IITs. Also, the gender ratio is just absurd. Like my class has a 31:1 gender ratio.

My experience at IIT Nagpur.
Placements: The placement cell of our college is good, as of now I am in my second year of college. The placement cell is making good efforts to get everyone for the 3rd year internship. The main placement to look out for will be in 2026 as it will be the first time. There will be 600 students for placements.
Infrastructure: College is new, so there is only one hostel as of now, accommodating around 800 boys and 150 girls. The remaining boys have to get accommodation outside. Accommodation is on first come first basis. The hostel food is average, there are 4 meals per day and on Sunday something special is served.
Faculty: The curriculum is somewhat new in our course as IoT is a new field, also teachers are good. All the faculty members are Ph.D. Most of them are helpful and friendly. The difficulty of exam is really low. The passing rate is at forty percent of the toppers. In lab subject, everyone gets pass.
Other: The campus is outside of Nagpur. Connectivity is low, but metro will be there in some years. Campus does not have much. Fests are decent.

We are not satisfied with our college.
Placements: College placements are good. Many companies do not visit. However, better companies visit, with around two to three vacancies for our college students each year. The highest package is around 42 LPA.
Infrastructure: Our infrastructure is very limited. We do not have a badminton court, football field, or cricket ground. There is no sufficient place to play outdoor games, and indoor facilities are also not available. One badminton court is there, but it does not have a mat.
Faculty: The college faculty comes from higher professional colleges like IIITN, IIT, and NIT. They did their Ph.D. at those professional colleges and have around 3 to 4 years of research experience. They are experienced and friendly with our college students.

Good college, peaceful, but in a rural area, which can be a drawback.
Placements: The placement rate is 80%. The package is from 4-68 LPA. Top recruiters include Nvidia and Mindtickle. Internship data is not updated. But it is 90%. The main roles SDE and similar positions. Overall, placements are decent compare to IIIT Vadodara. It makes solid choice from placement perspective.
Infrastructure: The campus has Wi-Fi, labs, Central AC and latest computers. The infrastructure is decent. The hostel is small. It is bit pricey. But corridors and common areas are cleaned regularly. It makes much better. The infrastructure is best. Even though the campus is not near the main city, but alright. However, mess has only veg food.
Faculty: Teachers are good and helpful. The courses are the latest. Exams are easy, but the CGPA criteria are bad. The college location is a downside, and the gender ratio is bad. It is around 20:1 or even 30:1, which is a significant issue, especially since the college doesn’t follow the 33% women’s reservation criteria.
Other: Computer Science is a good branch of engineering. However, while the theoretical knowledge is there, the lab sessions need improvement.

Best faculty, but the infrastructure is not good.
Placements: According to our system, a CGPA above 7 is considered good for getting a job in our college. Good internships also come based on CGPA. If you have strong coding skills and participate in activities like hackathons. Placements are good.
Infrastructure: We do not have very good infrastructure. We do not have sufficient playgrounds to play cricket or other outdoor games like volleyball and football. There is one badminton court, but it is not good. We have only four buildings. The academic building, administrative building, residential building, and hostel building. That’s it.
Faculty: Faculty in our college is very good. They are highly professional and many have completed their Ph.D. from NIT, IIIT, and other reputed institutions. They also have significant certificates from research centers and are very experienced. The examination pattern includes midterm examinations and a semester exam, and our faculty corrects those papers.

This college has good placement. I recommend it to all students.
Placements: Placement in our branch is decent enough, with around 70-80% getting placed and 70% securing internships as well. The average salary is around 10-12 LPA for the CS branch, and the highest package went up to 90 LPA. Companies like Amazon, TCS, Zomato, Nvidia, and other reputed ones have visited for recruitments. The potential for placements in the college is good, as Nagpur is slowly becoming an IT hub.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is good; Wi-Fi, labs, and classes are all decent and well managed. Academically, it has been really great with all the facilities provided. A sports ground has been made, although it is not in use as of now. The ground is said to be mainly used for football and cricket. Mess food is a bit lower than okay, not much to be expected, but okay for survival.
Faculty: Some faculty members are okay, but some lack the lustre, while others show actual dedication to their course. As far as the curriculum is concerned, it is very damn heavy and requires determination, not just attending lectures. Self-study is surely required, as the semester exams are difficult for all.
