CSAB Counselling Registration 2026: The Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB) will start the CSAB counselling registration in June 2026, at csab.nic.in.

The CSAB counselling application form for all rounds is released online only. To begin the CSAB 2026 registration process, applicants need to log in using their JEE Main 2026 application number and password. Subsequent steps in the process differ depending on the type of counselling.

There is no registration fee for any CSAB counselling round; however, fees must be paid after registration and seat allotment, as outlined in the CSAB counselling schedule. Q:   Is there any reservation for candidates in CSAB counselling?
A: 

Yes, Central Seat Allocation Board provided reservation to reserved category candidates as pe the rules. Applicants applying for CSAB counselling with reservation must upload required documents at registration. It is necessary to upload certificate/required document to avail the reservation at the time of admission. Any candidate who fails to produce the reservation documents at the time of admission will be considered for general merit seats.  

Q:   Is it mandatory to apply for CSAB counselling?
A: 

It is not mandatory to appear for CSAB counselling. Candidates who already got seats in JoSAA counselling or in any state engineering colleges are not required to appear for CSAB counselling. The authorities conduct CSAB counselling for the left over seats after JoSAA counselling.

How to Do CSAB Counselling Registration 2026?

The CSAB counselling registration process is different for all three rounds - special counselling, NEUT, and supernumerary counselling. The registration process for all three rounds is held at csab.nic.in. Check the major steps included in the CSAB registration process below:

Step 1: Login with JEE Main Details

Candidates have to login with JEE Main 2026 application number and password in the CSAB portal.

Step 2: OTP Verification

After that candidates are sent an OTP to their registered JEE Main mobile number.

Step 3: Review and Submit the Details

After verifying the OTP, check all the details that are fetched from JEE Main//JEE Advanced/JoSAA database and submit the form.

Step 4: Pay Fee (If Any)/Document Verification

The payment of the fee will depend on the CSAB counselling round - special/NEUT/supernumerary. After completion of any payment, if needed, candidates can proceed to the choice filling step.

CSAB 2026 Registration Fee: Registration for any CSAB counselling round is free of charge. However, fees must be paid after registration and seat allotment as per the schedule of CSAB counselling.

CSAB Counselling Eligibility 2026

Check the eligibility for CSAB counselling process below:

CSAB Special Counselling Eligibility 2026

Type 1: candidates who have not registered for JoSAA counselling and meet all the required eligibility criteria.

Type 2: Candidates who participated in JoSAA counselling but were not allotted any seat.

Type 3: The candidates who participated in JoSAA, even got a seat, but their seat got cancelled due to non-payment of the seat acceptance fee (SAF).

Type 4: The candidates who have exited the JoSAA counselling can also participate in CSAB.

Type 5: Candidates who participated in JoSAA 2026 and were allotted seats in IITs, but:

  • Their seats were cancelled after document verification, or
  • They withdrew from their allotted seats, or
  • They accepted admission

Type 6: Candidates who participated in JoSAA, paid SAF 7 PAF and got admission in NIT+ system, can also participate in CSAB.

Type 7: Candidates who were allotted seat in JoSAA but later withdrew their seats are also eligible for CSAB.

Type 8: Candidates who participated in JoSAA and were allotted seats but were disqualified due to unsuccessful document verification.

Type 9: Candidates who got a seat in the NIT+ system and paid the SAF but their admission was cancelled due to non-payment of PAF, can also participate in CSAB.

CSAB NEUT Counselling Eligibility 2026

JEE Main rank: Candidates must achieve a rank in JEE Main 2026 Paper-1 for BE/BTech programs or a rank in JEE (Main) 2026 Paper-2 for BArch programs, as applicable.

Year of passing class 12: Candidates should have cleared the Class XII (or equivalent) Board examination in 2023, 2024, or 2026.

Academic criteria: The candidate should have secured a minimum of 45 percent marks in the 12th class examination. For Architecture, the candidate should have passed the 10+2 examination with at least 50 percent aggregate marks in these subjects: Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics and at least 50 percent marks in aggregate of the 10+2 level examination or passed the 10+3 Diploma Examination with Mathematics as a compulsory subject with at least 50 percent marks in aggregate. SC/ST/PwD candidates are eligible for a 5 percent relaxation of marks obtained in the qualifying examination.

Date of birth: As per the Information Bulletin and JEE Main 2026 guidelines.

State of domicile: Students from 08 North East States (Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Manipur, Nagaland, Sikkim, and Tripura) and 05 Union Territories (Dadra & Nagar Haveli, Daman & Diu, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Lakshadweep, and Ladakh) are eligible.

CSAB Supernumerary Counselling Eligibility 2026

Eligible candidates for the CSAB supernumerary counselling include those who met the criteria for JoSAA 2026 / CSAB 2026 Special Rounds based on their JEE Main 2026 ranks and have their State Code of Eligibility as the UTs of Dadra & Nagar Haveli, Daman & Diu, Lakshadweep, and Andaman & Nicobar Islands. Additionally, candidates without a valid allocated seat in the NIT+ system by the end of all rounds of JoSAA/CSAB 2026 are also eligible.

After CSAB counselling registration, the exam authority will start the choice filling process at the official website. Successfully registered candidates must complete CSAB counselling choice filling and locking with preferred course and college choices. Candidates first have to login using JEE Main application number and password to complete CSAB choice filling and locking process.

CSAB 2026 Special Counselling Registration

All eligible candidates are required to do a fresh registration online for participation in Special Rounds through the CSAB portal (csab.nic.in) as per the schedule. Earlier registration done on the JoSAA portal is NOT valid for CSAB Special rounds.

CSAB Special Round Enrolment Fee (IAF-I and SRPF): To complete the CSAB special round registration, candidates must pay the Special Round Enrolment Fee (SREF). The SREF includes the Institute Admission Fee - I (IAF-I) and a non-refundable Special Round Processing Fee (SRPF). Candidates must pay the Special Round Enrolment Fee using Net Banking / Debit card / Credit card or State Bank of India e-challan.

CSAB 2026 Supernumerary Counselling Application Form

All eligible candidates must register online through the CSAB portal at csab.nic.in according with the provided schedule. Please note that prior registration in JoSAA or any CSAB Special Round is not valid for the CSAB 2026 Supernumerary Round.

  • Eligible candidates are permitted to register only once on the CSAB Supernumerary portal.
  • Candidates should log in using their JEE (Main) 2026 Application Number and the Password from JEE Main 2026 or the updated Password from JEE Advanced, JoSAA 2026, or CSAB Special Round, whichever is most recent.

For candidates whose documents were not verified in the NIT+ System during JoSAA or CSAB Special Rounds, the following updates can be made during online registration:

  • Only Indian Nationals are eligible for the CSAB Supernumerary Round.
  • Gender can be updated from any to any.
  • The State of Eligibility (the location where Class XII or its equivalent was first taken) can be updated from any to any.

Q:   Do the JoSAA registered candidates need to fill CSAB application form separately?
A: 

Yes, applicants who wish to particpate in CSAB have to register online from the CSAB official website as both CSAB and JoSAA are separate counselling processes. The document verification of such candidates will not be conducted again, as the documents are verified during JoSAA.

Q:   If a candidate has not participated in JoSAA counselling, will he/she be eligible to take part in CSAB counselling?
A: 

Yes, candidates who do not participate in the JoSAA counselling are eligible to participate in the CSAB counselling. Candidates must complete the CSAB counselling registration using JEE Main application number. After the registration process, the exam authorities will commence the document verification process.

CSAB 2026 NEUT Counselling Application Form

For CSAB NEUT registration, eligible candidates have to login using their roll number of JEE Main 2026 and the password created during JEE Main registration. For admission to Pharmacy course, eligible candidates have to create login password through a separate link on CSAB portal.

Documents to be uploaded by the candidates:

  1. Any photo ID proof
  2. JEE Main 2026 Admit Card (Not applicable for Pharmacy)
  3. Class X (High School) Board Certificate as proof of date of birth
  4. Certificate and Marks sheet of the qualifying examination.
  5. Certificate of Category/sub-category/caste/sub-caste as applicable, issued by the competent authority
  6. Certificate for Persons with Disabilities (PwD) and/or Unique Disability Identity Card (UDID), if applicable.
  7. Proof of place of examination centre in case of the final qualifying examination is from the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) formerly known as National Open School (NOS).
  8. Permanent Resident Certificate (PRC)/Domicile, if applicable
  9. Medical Certificate
  10. Declaration/ Undertaking from the Candidate
  11. Undertaking by the Parents/Guardian (Annexure-V) xii. Special Benefit claim certificate (if applicable)
  12. Any other documents as desired by the respective DTEs of States/UTs/NERIST

After CSAB Counselling Registration 2026

After CSAB counselling 2026 registration is complete, candidates must submit their choice of engineering branches and institutions in decreasing order of preference. Candidates must remember following points before entering their choices: 

  • As per eligibility, rank, the number of seats available and disciplines offered, a list will be displayed. 
  • Enter as many as the number of choices as you can following your preference.
  • Candidates can reorder choices, edit earlier filled choices or add new choices as many times as they like before locking in final choices. 

Note: If a candidate fails to submit his/her choices in the prescribed time, his/her previously filled choices will be considered final.
