No, a hostel is not compulsory at IIT Gandhinagar for M.Tech students. However, the college's hostel is very good. Currently, the college has eight hostels. The campus hostels are air-conditioned and have well-furnished rooms. The academic area is just a short distance from the hostels. The student hostels are largely Wi-Fi enabled.

Yes, GATE 2023 exam dates (which will be valid for admission to the academic year 2024-25) have been announced. IISc Bangalore will conduct the GATE exam on February 3, 4, 10, and 11. The GATE application form will release on Aug 24 on the official website at gate.iisc.ac.in. The organising institute for GATE is IISc Bangalore. The exam will be conducted online as a computer-based test for 29 papers. Students will be required to solve 65 questions in 180 minutes (3 hours). The GATE syllabus is based on General Aptitude and Core Discipline, carrying a weightage of 15% and 85% respectively.

All applications for IIT Gandhinagar M.Tech programme must be submitted  online. Candidates willing to apply for more than one specialisation must submit separate application forms for each specialisation. After the successful submission of the application form, students will receive an application number and a link to download the application form. Yes, non-GATE candidates must appear for the institute level entrance test. However, all candidates are required to appear for the PI round for final selection. In addition to this, BTech graduates from the IITs with CGPA/ CPI of 8.0 or above (on a scale of 10) are eligible to get admission to M.Tech at IIT Gandhinagar without GATE. Other than GATE or the criteria state above, candidates are required to be a pass in BE/ BTech/ MSc or equivalent in appropriate branches with a minimum of 55% aggregate or 5.5 on a 10-point scale (50% aggregate for SC /ST).
