IIT Gandhinagar MTech Eligibility & Highlights 2026
MTech is a two-year course offered at IIT Gandhinagar in eight specialisations. Some of these specialisations include, Computer Science and Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, etc. Besides MTech, the institute also offers Work & Study MTech programmes in the same eight specialisations. Work and Study MTech is a three-year course. Admission to both MTech and Work & Study MTech is based on the GATE scores. Candidates without a GATE score can appear for a written test conducted by the institute followed by a Personal Interview round for final admission. Yes, IIT Gandhinagar conducts a Personal Interview round. Candidates can be asked to appear for the institute-level entrance test. In order to apply, all applications must fill the form online. Yes, non-GATE candidates must appear for the institute level entrance test. However, all candidates are required to appear for the PI round for final selection. IIT Gandhinagar JEE Advanced cutoff 2025 is out for the third round. The cutoff has been released for candidates seeking admission to BTech/Integerated BTech courses at the institute on the basis of JEE Advanced. Among the General All India category candidates, the closing ranks varied between 1872 and 10645. Therefore, it is possible to get admission to the college at 5000 rank in JEE Advanced. However, at 5000 rank, the choice of specialisations would be limited.
As per the information available on the official website of JoSAA 2025, the semester-wise IIT Gadhinagar hostel fee is INR 17,250 (this includes hostel seat rent, utilities, etc.). A mess and laundry advance fee of INR 21,000 is also required to be paid by the students admitting to a four-year full-time BTech course at IIT-G.
