Home away from home, though getting high CPI here is a bit tough.
Placements: Placements for Economics are honestly top-tier almost on par with the core engineering branches if you maintain a decent CPI. Around 85 to 90 percent of the students get placed easily while the rest usually go for higher studies or off-campus research. The average package is around 18 LPA-20 LPA with the highest offers going up to more than 45 LPA for quant and high-frequency trading roles. Massive companies like Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan, Barclays, McKinsey, and WorldQuant come to the campus for both summer internships and final placements. Most people end up getting internships by their 3rd year in roles like data analytics.
Infrastructure: The campus infrastructure is amazing. We have high-speed Wi-Fi everywhere from hostels to the lecture hall complex (LHC). The computer labs are loaded with the software we need for economic modelling. P K Kelkar library is great and a quiet place to study during midterms. Hostel life is a huge part of IITK. The rooms are decent, and the mess food is actually manageable compared to what you hear about other colleges. You have late-night canteens open till 2:00 or 3:00 AM in almost every Hall. Sports facilities are massive, we have a proper running track and an olympic-size pool.
Faculty: Professors are incredibly smart and know their stuff inside out though some can be a bit strict with grading. The teaching quality is quite rigorous. The Economics curriculum here isn't just theory it is very mathematical and focuses heavily on econometrics and data analysis which makes it highly relevant if you want to go into data science or financial analytics.

Our college provides good facilities.
Placements: I am satisfied with this course and curriculum. Almost 85% of students got placed in our college. The highest salary package offered is 35 LPA. The average salary package offered is 19 LPA. Our college provides great internship opportunities. Many financial companies visit our college. Finance assistant roles are offered to students.
Infrastructure: We have good Wi-Fi and labs. The mess is average. Our college provides sports facilities. The food served in our college is good.
Faculty: Teachers are well-qualified. Exams are difficult. Some courses are not relevant. If you manage your time, you will be satisfied with the academic schedule of our college. All professors are very well-specialised in their courses.

I recommend joining this course as the placements are good.
Placements: Around 95% of the students got placed with the highest salary package of 55 LPA. The average salary package offered was 16 LPA. All big tech companies like Amazon, Google, MSGS, Flipkart, etc., are visiting the campus. Most of the students got placed in the software role. Other roles offered were as data analyst and consultant.
Infrastructure: All the facilities like Wi-Fi, lab, library, etc., are available. The library is huge and you will find almost every book here. In hostels, the food served is good, and the canteen is also good. There are medical and sports facilities in the hostels. We mostly play table tennis here.
Faculty: Teachers here are well qualified and helpful but they are not that good at teaching when compared to coaching teachers. The course is very much relevant in terms of use in industry. Semesters are not difficult, and you can score decent marks if you study 2 weeks before the exam.
Other: I chose this course because the placements stats are very good here, and the faculty members are experienced enough. There are three fests around the year. We have scholarships like MCM and FBM.

You will have excellent campus life, placements and infrastructure in our college.
Placements: Placements of our college are good as about 90% of the students get placed. The average salary package offered in our college placements this year was about 15 LPA. Top roles are offered in various companies like Microsoft, Oyo, Google and many more companies from the software field.
Infrastructure: Our college has 15 hostels which are known as the halls. Wi-Fi router is available in the halls, academic area, library and lecture halls. The quality of the food available in the mess is good, and the food served in the canteen is not very best but good enough. Charges for the food in the canteen are very minimal. In our college, there is HC (health centre) for medical facilities.
Faculty: Faculty members here are knowledgeable as almost all of them did their masters and PhD from top foreign universities. The course curriculum of economics is easy because it doesn't have many lab subjects. This course curriculum is related to the industry, and it makes students ready for the industry.

Very good college, excellent academic flexibility, placements in top companies.
Placements: Percent of students placed was around 95%. The highest and the lowest package was 31.5 and 8 Lacs respectively. The average package was around 13 LPA. Top recruiters were Goldman Sachs, JPMC, Blackrock, Oracle and Walmart. 25% of students got internship in my course. The company providing internships were Oracle, Walmart, American Express, JPMC, Axxela Advisory and AB InBev. Roles offered were SDE, Data scientist, Quant researcher and equity analyst.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is very good as expected from such IITs. The Wi-Fi connection is one of the fastest in the country. The classrooms are well furnished and the Library is quite big with lots of books. The facilities in the hostel were average. The quality of food was good but after sometime the students get bored following the same routine. The sports facilities are very good with all possible sporting equipments available in the college.
Faculty: Most of the teachers are very qualified and knowledgeable. We can approach them any time for the queries. The teaching quality is good but lectures are boring as nobody is willing to listen to the professor. The course curriculum is relevant and has many subjects to make students industry-ready like technical communication and other MBA courses to make students industry ready.
Other: I choose this course as I was interested in finance and I loved mathematics. Also the content covered in the course is quite relatable and helps understand the world in a better way. You get to understand the market and the economy as a whole. I think the one area it lag behind is the practical application of the explained theory.

Absolutely satisfied with my branch and college.
Placements: The placement percentage was around 85% in my branch last year. Package: the highest- 36 LPA, the lowest- 8 LPA, average- 13 LPA.
Top recruiting companies- Walmart, Deutsche Bank, American Express, Oracle, etc. Around 50% of the students got internships this year in companies like Oracle, Amazon, etc. Top roles are Manager, Software Developer, Data Scientist, etc.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure and facilities are just great. There are high-speed Wi-Fi, advanced labs and classrooms. Quality of food available in the mess and canteen is also good. Of course no one can match the taste of home-made food. But, overall the food is good. Medical and sports facilities are also satisfactory.
Faculty: All the teachers are qualified and knowledgeable. The teaching quality of most of the teachers is great. But out of them, I personally don't like 2 or 3 teachers because of their teaching styles. As my branch is not technical I have to study some of the engineering courses which I think are not so relevant. But courses that are mainly from my department are completely relevant.
Other: Considering my JEE rank, It was the best option for me then to choose this branch. But seriously, I didn't had any idea about this branch before admission. But I have never regretted after choosing this branch. The best thing I like about this branch is that it is not that hectic when compared with other branches.

Really it is a good campus in the country.
Placements: There is detailed analysis in economics, and it is one of the best colleges to offer this course in the world. It teaches core concepts in economics. Roughly about 90% of the students get placements. Around 50%-70% of the students get internships, and there are good placements in the software sector also for us.
Infrastructure: There are world-class classrooms and a library on the campus. There is high-speed unlimited Wi-Fi facility throughout the campus. There are a separate mess and a canteen for every hostel. Even there are more restaurants, Domino's, Cafe Coffee Day, etc. There is a nice medical care centre, which is open 24x7. Our college has many grounds, 2 gyms, 11 basketball courts, etc.
Faculty: There are very intellectual and experienced teachers. There is a good bonding between teachers and students. The course is very nice and interesting to learn, and it is also helpful for MBA aspirants. There are a huge scope and competition for this course.
Other: Many fests are organised on the campus throughout the year.

Our college creates masterminds.
Placements: Students are offered the role of the analyst in reputed companies like American Express, and some financial jobs too. Most importantly, this branch helps you in UPSC preparation. Almost the entire batch 2016 of economics was placed during placement. In IITK economics is one of the best branches in terms of placements.
Infrastructure: The quality of the facilities provided is top-notch in terms of feasibility and accessibility. Although I would say that the quality of the food served in the mess is not up to the mark, but as time passes, it became a habit. The Wi-Fi facility in hostels and departmental buildings is awesome. The sports facility is mind-boggling.
Faculty: The course curriculum is interesting and fascinating too. Teachers here are friendly and helpful. The course curriculum is relevant, and it makes you ready for industrial purpose. Teaching quality is also remarkable, and students get interested after reading this economics courses.
Other: I chose this course because in future I want to compete for the paper of UPSC and in that, I'll choose economics as my optional subject.
