IIT Madras Cutoff 2026: JEE Advanced Previous Years Closing Rank

The Indian Institute of Technology Madras has concluded the BTech admission for the academic year 2023-24. IIT Madras cutoff 2023 was concluded after the release of Round 6 of the Engineering Advanced Seat Allotment Result. As per the IIT Madras JEE Advanced cutoff 2023, the last round closing rank for BTech was ranged between 148 and 11185 for the General All India category students. Considering the last round closing rank, BTech in CSE was the most competitive specialisation.

IIT Madras BTech cutoff 2024 got released across multiple specialisations. Based on the last-round seat allotment, to get into IIT Madras, students must score between 159 and, 10682 for the General AII India category. In addition to that, for getting into BTech in CSE, you must have a rank upto 159. DoMS IIT Madras cutoff 2025 was published for admission to the management course, as MBA, based on the candidates' performance in the CAT entrance exam. For the General AI category, the DoMS IIT Madras CAT cutoff 2025 was 85.11 overall and 50 for all the sections, like Quants, VA-RC and DI-LR.

With this rank, there is a probability of getting admission however since, the cut offs keep changing year on year, it is advisable to try to score better ranks to increase your chances of getting admission to IIT Madras - Indian Institute of Technology.

Certainly, IIT Madras accepts CAT results for MBA programme admissions. Specifically, CAT is the sole entrance exam considered for admission to IIT Madras' MBA program. Candidates are evaluated based on their CAT scores as a screening criterion, after which they are shortlisted for the subsequent selection process comprising a group exercise and an in-person interview. The minimum CAT score necessary for admission to the MBA programme at IIT Madras typically falls within the 90th percentile range. However, this percentile requirement varies annually, influenced by factors such as the number of applicants and overall CAT exam performance.

Candidates seeking for admission to M.Tech at IIT Madras, candidates must pass graduation with minimum 60% aggregate as the minimum eligibility criteria for General category candidtaes.

In addition to this, candidates must also qualify GATE exam with a valid score. The cutoff may fluctuate every year, as it depends upon multiple factors. As per witnessing the last three years' closing cutoff for M.Tech course at IIT Madras, the highest closing ranks have been between 500 to 800 made for all top specialisations.

Candidates must note that exam pattern (questions) are different for some papers. Make sure to check properly. IIT Guwahati will conduct GATE 2026 exam in two sessions. 

Qualifying marks for JEE Mains 2026, also called qualifying percentile for JEE Mains will be announced by the NTA along with the JEE Main 2026 session 2 result. Candidates must note that qualifying percentile for JEE Mains 2026 is the minimum percentile required to appear in JEE Advanced 2026. For admission to NIT or IIITs, there is no provision of qualifying marks in JEE Mains 2026 and admission is given based on All India Rank in JEE Mains exam. NTA will announce JEE Mains 2026 All India rank in April after session 2 exam results. 

JAM 2023 concluded after round 4 which was released on July 7. As per the latest year JAM cutoff, the opening and closing ranks ranges between 1 and 262, including all the MSc specialisations. So, to be eligible for IIT Madras MSc course, candidates must secure a rank between 1 to 300 for General category. The opening and Closing rank depends on the category and quota of candidates. For the General category under All India, opening rank was 5365 and closing rank was 5374. The cutoffs are different when it comes to other categories or female candidates and even domicile of home state. In All India, opening and closing rank for female candidates was 8323 and 8618.
