I am satisfied because of the fee. My fees are low because I got a fee waiver seat.

Placements: JBM is the only core company that offers five vacancies. Non-core companies, like IT companies, offer more. There are good companies like Capgemini, TCS, and Infosys that offer jobs. Good training is given to crack the placement exams, including summer training programs.

Infrastructure: We have neat and clean hostels. The infrastructure is good. There is no Wi-Fi. There is a huge playground. The quality of food in the mess is average and not very good for the fitness freaks.

Faculty: They are collaborative and help students solve their problems. We have workshop practice in which all practicals are done by students. Semester exams are compulsory and these exams make up your overall percentage, but the percentage doesn't matter in today's world.

Other: Events and fests are organised regularly. Sports events, like MPL (Maharana Pratap Cricket League), football games, and badminton also take place.

There is value for money here. I suggest you choose Maharana.

Placements: You will get the opportunity to get placed in top MNCs such as Emphasis, TCS, Wipro, Informatica, AWS, Accenture and many more with a decent salary package. Apart from CS/IT companies, ME core companies also visited our college like Sandhar, JBM, Talbros and GVK with a good salary package.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure is good here, and labs are well maintained and equipped. The campus is very clean and well maintained. There is also a cricket playground, volleyball ground, basketball court and badminton court for sports. The library contains lots of books related to the syllabus and studies. We got our new ME workshop recently.

Faculty: The faculty members here are knowledgeable and have sufficient teaching experience. They are very supportive, but there is a lack of industry knowledge and experience of the core sector for students. However, our college is working on it, and very soon things are going to be good.

If you stay in Kanpur, select this college, or else do not select this college.

Placements: If you took admission in the mechanical or civil engineering branch, then you may face many problems regarding placements. If you take admission in a computer science course, then it will be beneficial for the placement purpose. The highest salary package offered in the mechanical branch ranges between 2.4-3 LPA. The highest salary package offered in the computer science course ranges between 3.25-4 LPA. In the mechanical branch, you will not get an internship. Other branches like electronics, electrical and computer science has a good option in the summer vacation period.

Infrastructure: Wi-Fi facility is available in hostel and library, but the speed is not good. There is a dental college on the campus, and they handle medical issues. The library has many books, but if you are preparing for any entrance exam, you have to come with your own books for study. Classrooms are very good in our college. The infrastructure of the N-block is awesome. The canteen is average but not very good.

Faculty: Teachers in our college are very helpful. Most of the teachers are graduated and masters from NITs. Their teaching quality is above average. Most of the course is outdated. Many unnecessary things are taught in the course due to exam purposes, but I think that is not necessary.

Other: I have chosen this college because I live in Kanpur and I love the mechanical course. MPEC is a good college and the oldest college in Kanpur city. Every year our college organises a fest in March. At this time, many college students came and participated in cricket and chess tournaments. Scholarships are also available, but sometimes general category students face problems in getting a scholarship. SC-ST students get a full scholarship of Rs. 78,000.

Satisfied with faculty teaching, good infrastructure with average placements.

Placements: The placement percentage of my college is about 75%. The maximum placement percentage is for the students of non core branches like Computer Science and information technology branch. About 90% students of these branches are placed in various companies. In case of core branches like civil and mechanical, the placement percentage is about 50%. Usually marketing and sales company visit college campus like Toppers, Belpatram Infratech Pvt ltd etc. These companies offers package varies from 5 LPA to 10 LPA.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is quite good. Highly developed labs are available in college campus. There is a facility of Wi-Fi also in campus. A well developed library is available in our college. Food facility in hostel is not good. First aid facility is available in college. My college also organises various sports activities in college every month like Volleyball tournament etc.

Faculty: In my opinion, my college has highly knowledgeable teachers. They are highly qualified. They contain knowledge about various subjects. My teachers provide guidance to each student if they required. Teachers quality is outstanding. Course curriculum is fit to current industry scenario. I think students are ready for industry by learning this course.

Other: I choose this course because I wanted to achieve a good position in my life. If you learn this course, you can achieve whatever you want, this is the best thing about this course. Teaching quality of faculty should be improved for this course. My college, every year organises an annual fest to provide a platform to each student.

It is a decent college which provides good placements, and teachers focus a lot on placements.

Placements: Almost 60% of the students were placed from college. The highest salary package offered was 3 LPA. The lowest salary package offered was 1.8 LPA. The average salary package offered was 2.0 LPA. JBM Group, Star Wire India Ltd, Sandbar, Indo Mim, are the top recruiters. Roles of a design engineer, production engineer, and quality engineering are offered. The highest salary package offered in our course was 3 LPA. The lowest salary package offered in our course was 1.8 LPA. The average salary package offered in our course was 2.0 LPA.

Infrastructure: Classrooms here are good. The entire campus is Wi-Fi enabled. There are well-equipped labs. There is a decent library. Hostel facilities were good. The food served is fine. Medical support is very good. Sports are encouraged here, but due to college timings, sports often get eliminated from daily routine despite having grounds and facilities.

Faculty: Most of the faculty members here were good and knowledgeable. The teaching quality is also good, but they lack experience. Some of them are just giving notes and completing the syllabus. Teachers put efforts but lack depth in knowledge. The course was according to AKTU.

Other: CS course provides the maximum placements. Improvements can be made in the field of extracurricular activities.

Not satisfied with the college. It is totally waste of time and money, and yo will get nothing.

Placements: Placements in the college are in very poor condition. Only 1-2 or maximum 3 genuine companies visit the campus and select very few students. Sometimes they are also invited through the reference of teachers. In mechanical, there is no scope. They invite companies which have no status at all. Placements are good for CS branch but if you are in mechanical, then you are in deep trouble. They invite lots of useless companies and try to place mechanical students in those bogus companies. They also invite the company which has criteria to pay the huge amount first to the company for placement, and after that, you are allowed to join that company. There were very bad criteria for which only company they invited for placements. This is not only especially for mechanical branch, but the same thing is also for electrical, civil, and electronic branches. Salary packages offered were too low where you cannot even survive a month in Delhi or Bangalore. The salary package offered was 1.40 LPA or 1.20 LPA. Nothing extra will be provided in this college.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is good. The campus is wonderful. But there were some issues in the hostel. The electricity was not available for 24 hours. The proper food was not served in the mess. Students always complain about that at our time. There was no proper Wi-Fi facility. Labs were old and not maintained for a long while. There were no digital classrooms and digital concepts.

Faculty: Faculty members in the college are ridiculous. They can't explain, and they were useless. They don't have an idea of the basic concept and always use their power to impose the concept on the students. They are below average. One or two faculty members were average, but the rest of them in the mechanical branch is not good.

Other: There are many ways to impose fines on students. They collect the fee very strictly and rudely. Teachers are not that friendly, and they also work on a personal level.

Review of Maharana Pratap Engineering College.

Placements: Placements in the college are good enough when compared to other colleges in its vicinity. It provides a better future for the students who are willing to take admission in electronics and communication department because it provides 100% placements. So, if you are willing to do B.Tech from this college, just go for it.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is quite impressive. There is a huge ground, where outdoor games are conducted by our college. Indoor games like table tennis and badminton are available. A free gym is also provided to those students who are staying in the college hostel.

Faculty: In my point of view, faculty members of my branch are the best, and the other branch faculty members are also good, but comparatively, I would rate them as poor. Our college needs to be popularised in social networks, but currently, it is not.

Overall, the college is average. The faculty are awesome, and the infrastructure was average.

Placements: The placements of this college are average. For mechanical engineering, a few companies visited during my batch such as JBM (Jay Bharat Maruti), Indo MIM, Tractor India Pvt Ltd, etc. If you want to go for IT companies, then they will find many opportunities because there are many IT companies who visit every year and allow all the branches to take part in placement drive. The average salary package provided by various companies during my batch is 2 LPA to 2.5 LPA. The highest salary package was around 5 LPA. The lowest salary package was 1.8 LPA, but it all depends upon the company. In my senior batch, one student got 10 LPA. The percentage of selection is based on the number of vacancies in a company. On an average, a company took around 5 to 10 students after the final round of placement drive. In my college, there is a placement cell, which invites many companies in every year. But honestly, there is less scope for mechanical engineering. Hardly, two or three core companies may visit in a year.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure is not good during my batch, but it was enough. There is a library, which is not big, but you can find many standards books for a few subjects, and for rest all, you may disappoint. There is playground also which is used for sports activities during many fests. There is a gym. The canteen is present, which is a small shop. You can find tea, coffee, and some fast food. The most important thing about laboratories is it has all type of equipment in the college, but laboratory experience disappointed me. But in the 1st-year, you can do all the experiment as well under the guidance of good teachers and lab assistants. From 2nd year onwards, my experience was not good, but you can learn many things if you want because there are good lab assistants for all branches. Till my batch, there was no Wi-Fi facility, but it may be available in the future. The classroom experience was good. Seating arrangements was excellent. Two hostels were present, one for boys and one for girls. There is also an ICU, which is not good but enough for small accidents or diseases. Overall, the infrastructure was good except for canteen in which the canteen should be big. Tech and cultural events take place twice a year. It was wonderful experience always.

Faculty: The faculty members experience was excellent in the first year. Also from 2nd year onwards, you will not always find good faculty members, but it is not true. It was at random every year depends upon the quality of teachers come in the college. Overall, the faculty experience was good. Many teachers are good in their fields. Most of all are well-qualified and experienced. Their way of dealing students is friendly. They have various ways to express their knowledge and passing it to students. They told us their industry experience also. They always show to students the right way of choosing their career option.

Other: I already mentioned all in the infrastructure column. The scholarship programme is good because it is helpful for financially weak students. In my batch, 20 to 25% of the students got their scholarship every year. All SC and ST students always find their scholarship without any problem. But for other students, it depends upon luck as well as depends upon income certificate. Those students who have a little annual income(less than Rs. 36,000) in their income certificate can get the scholarship, and the rest of students always disappoint every year. Although it is not a rule, I said it as I faced in my college. I got the scholarship only in my final year.
