It has supportive faculty, vibrant campus life, and room for a few upgrades.
Placements: As of now, I'm in my 3rd year, so only a few students have appeared for placements yet. The highest package offered is 15 LPA, and the lowest package ranges from 3-4 LPA. The average package details are not cleared yet since placements are still ongoing. When it comes to companies, I do not have complete details, but some good firms have started visiting the college. Internship opportunities are still limited.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is quite good. One of the highlights is the beautiful college garden, which has even won multiple lower show competitions, as it really adds to the campus environment. Our labs and classrooms are well-maintained. In particular, the NSB block is very spacious and comfortable, especially during the summer. Girls' common room is also a nice space for refreshing and relaxing when we need a break. Overall, facilities are pretty solid and contribute to a positive academic atmosphere.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful and supportive. They not only guide us academically but also understand and help with personal issues when needed. Most of them are well-qualified and knowledgeable. Their way of teaching is clear and approachable. The course curriculum is mostly relevant and covers the core concepts well. While it may not be fully industry-oriented, it does give a solid foundation to build on for a future career or higher studies. Semester exams are manageable and not too difficult if we have followed classes and done our part. The pass percentage is generally high, so students do well with regular preparation.
Other: I chose this course because it matched my interests and aligned well with my future goals. The best thing about my course is that it combines both theoretical knowledge and practical applications, which makes learning more engaging. When it comes to college life, fests are truly amazing and serve as a great way to relax and de-stress. The campus crowd is very friendly and supportive, which creates a positive environment. There are many active societies in our college. Each one offers opportunities to explore interests outside of academics, be it cultural, technical, or social.

I chose this multidisciplinary course for its diverse subjects.
Placements: The Bioinformatics course has a 40% placement rate. The salary offered ranges from Rs. 30,000-60,000 per month. Top recruiters include TCS, Deloitte, Amazon, and biotech firms. Government internships are available. Roles offered include bioinformatics programmer, research associate, and genomic data scientist. There is a decent foundation in bioinformatics, but the placement rate could be better. It is worth it for students who are passionate about the field.
Infrastructure: Our department has good labs, infrastructure, Wi-Fi, modern classrooms, and a well-stocked library. Facilities are well-maintained and support learning. Hostel facilities are average, with decent food options in the mess and canteen. Medical facilities are available on campus. Sports and games options are also provided. Overall, the department facilities are a highlight, while the hostel and food could be improved.
Faculty: Our teachers are helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. The teaching quality is good, with faculty members dedicated to students' success. The course curriculum is relevant and provides a solid foundation in the field. However, industry readiness could be improved with more practical exposure. Semester exams are manageable, with an average level of difficulty. The pass percentage is good, indicating that students are well-supported. Overall, the faculty members and course curriculum are strengths, but more industry-focused training would enhance the course.
Other: I chose this course for its multidisciplinary approach, which I find fascinating. The best things about my course are its diverse subjects and potential for exploration. However, I wish the course could move deeper into specific areas, providing more in-depth knowledge. The campus has a great vibe, with various events and extracurricular activities. Connectivity and surroundings are also good. Scholarships are available, which is a plus point. Overall, I am enjoying the course, but more specialised knowledge would make it even better.

College campus is beautiful but crowd is not good and it is worth visiting.
Placements: Only students who are teachers' favourite get placements and it is not really worth working hard. I mean just average upto 5 LPA, and the main thing is only teachers give a chance to get placements. So basically if you want placements, you need to be teachers favourite.
Infrastructure: All the facilities available are good. But Wi-Fi is not so good. I have heard from students that hostel is nice. Canteen is good and other facilities are also good and worthy. The canteen food is nice and hygienic as well. But washrooms are very dirty and need to be cleaned.
Faculty: Faculty members and union members really work hard for any fests or seminars to be successful. The main issue is that attendance is provided for attending seminars but sometimes it becomes compulsory.
Other: This course is really good and it offers nice material to study. I can pursue M.Sc. in any course including Zoology, Botany, and Chemistry. Fests, programs, and seminars are worth attending.

A real glimpse of our Maitreyi college.
Placements: Maitreyi College offers internships and placements. Seminars are held from time to time to spread awareness regarding that among students. As I am a life science student, my college provides research internships in chemistry and zoology. These are usually unpaid, but a student gets skills and experience through them. Thus, yes, it is the right place.
Infrastructure: I am in the life science course. Our college provides proper guidance and study material in all subjects. Apart from that, classrooms are fully furnished. Students can study sitting in the library, where almost all books are available. The professors are so supportive. They are regular at teaching. Classes are rarely delayed or missed.
Faculty: The professors are well-qualified and give their best to reach and impart education to students. They always ensure that the syllabus is completed on time, and in case of some issues, faculty sort out the matter as soon as possible. Teachers are liberal. They listen to students' doubts and queries regarding the syllabus in the best ways.

It has balanced learning, and vibrant campus life for a wholesome college experience.
Placements: Maitreyi College provides average placements with a salary package that ranges from 3.5-5 LPA. The highest salary package offered is 8 LPA. Students get placed in sectors like IT, finance, media, and marketing by an active placement cell. In the life science course, there are no placements.
Infrastructure: Maitreyi College offers good infrastructure with well-equipped labs, a library, sports facilities, and modern classrooms. The campus is clean, eco-friendly, and has basic amenities like Wi-Fi and a canteen. Recently, a bakery has been also included. The food is average, and washrooms are well-equipped.
Faculty: The life science faculty members at Maitreyi College are experienced and supportive. They offer a well-structured course curriculum. It emphasises theoretical knowledge, practical exposure, research opportunities, and skill development. Laboratory assistants are rude.
Other: Maitreyi College hosts vibrant fests and co-curricular events. It conducts its annual cultural fest named Rhapsody, which features music, dance, and art performances. Other events include debates, seminars, and workshops across various societies like dramatics, fine arts, and environment clubs. These activities foster creativity, teamwork, and holistic growth, ensuring active student participation.

Q:   Is B Sc. at Maitreyi College better than Zakir Husain Delhi College?
ShikshaGPT says
A:

Zakir Husain Delhi College traces its origin to more than 300 years ago to a Madrasa. After many tumultuous events, the college as we see today was the final avatar.

ZHDC and MC, both have obtained grades of "A+" and are well known for good faculty and academics. Both colleges are in demand by students during the admission process. Frankly speaking there is nothing to differentiate between these two except that Maitreyi is women only while Zakir Husain is co-ed. Hence boys have no choice but to go to Zakir Husain while girls can opt out of the two.

In final analysis, one can say that both colleges are of equal calibre and a student can choose anyone without losing out on anything.

Best wishes to you.

Doing engineering from IPU is also a good step as IPU is also a government college as current scenario is that every student is behind the technical field. So, if you are interested in engineering, it’s better to go for Indraprastha University.
