Strong placements, supportive community, and a vibrant campus life.

Placements: Model Engineering College (MEC), Thrikkakara, records strong placements, with around 75% of B.Tech students placed in 2025 and CSE/ECE achieving 100%. The highest package reached 44 LPA, with a median of 6.3 LPA. Recruiters include Amazon, Google, IBM, Intel, Deloitte, Cognizant, Oracle, Bosch, and Jio. Internships are offered every semester, supported by the alumni network and industry links. Roles span software engineering, development, core engineering, analyst, and consulting positions.

Good placements, small campus.

Placements: Placements are pretty good at Model Engineering College compared to other engineering colleges. Electronics and biomedical have low placements compared to other departments. The highest placements in core EBE companies are 20 Lacs per annum, according to my knowledge.

Excellent college with placements and skill development but has some infrastructure constraints.

Placements: In EEE last year, almost 80% of students were placed in different companies. Overall placements for CS are very much higher than for other branches. Reputed companies like Visa, Redbus, etc., are regular recruiters from our college. In my course, top recruiters are Kalkitech, Hitachi, Synopsys, etc.

It's a good choice for college in Kochi.

Placements: College offers very good placements compared to other contemporaries. Number of companies visiting for CS is more followed by Electronics. Other branches do have placements but a bit less in core. A dedicated placement cell run by students is one important plus point of MEC.

Good college, but don't go for EEE.

Placements: I am in final year right now. But as far as I know, last year EEE 2025 batch just had about 25 placements, out of which most are managerial roles, while core are hardly 7-8. As branches keep getting added, there is competition now, like with almost 700 students. Companies do expect you to know intermediate level of programming even if you are in core branches. But for CS the competition would be just 4 branches, and three EC, so if you really put in your efforts, you can get placed well.

No campus life but hope that placement is there.

Placements: For mechanical branch, placement is very low. However, it is easier for girls to get placed in this branch. Only about 25% of the students get placed. The highest salary is 10 LPA. The average salary is 4 LPA - 6 LPA. Top recruiters including Sobha Construction, L&T, etc.
