Academically excellent with supportive faculty, but hostel accommodation facilities are limited.
Placements: Honestly, I don’t know the exact data, but this year our dean was in charge, and we faced some consequences. Many known recruiters did not take our branch and instead selected mechanical students. The highest package offered in our course is around 16 LPA, and the average is around 9 LPA. Companies like Reliance, JSW, Jindal, Tata, etc., visit for recruitment, though I may be missing some others. Around 100% of students are placed, but I am not sure about the companies. I do not have information about internships.
Infrastructure: The Wi-Fi is available. The library is very small, like a big room, instead of a proper building. The infrastructure is still under development. There is a shortage of hostels, so about 90% of students live outside the campus in PGs or rented apartments. Life is mostly like that of a day scholar, and vehicles are allowed. Hostels are good, but only a few merit-based students get hostel accommodation. Food, canteen, and medical facilities are good, but they are a bit far from the academic building (walking distance). Sports facilities are improving.
Faculty: In the first year, we were taught by contract professors. The teaching quality is average. The curriculum is relevant. Most students score between 8.0 and 8.5 CGPA, and a few get backlogs in subjects like Maths, Engineering Mechanics, and Engineering Graphics. Professors are very strict.
Other: I was advised to take this branch because last year the placement rate was almost 100%. I was getting mechanical, but I rejected it as it was difficult for me. Our branch has its own committee, which other branches do not have. Events and fests are good in my branch as well as in common events.

Absolutely worthy regarding my department, Metallurgical and Materials Engineering.
Placements: Around 85% of students are placed. The highest package is 18 LPA in the core sector, while the lowest is 7 LPA. The average package is around 8–10 LPA. Companies like JSW, TATA, and Vedanta visit the campus. Top roles are offered in both core and non-core sectors depending on the chosen specialization. The course provides good preparation for both areas and offers good opportunities in core fields as well.
Infrastructure: Facilities are good. The infrastructure is good for our department with sufficient labs, classrooms, and library facilities. Hostel facilities are also good, including food quality, rooms, washrooms, and overall management by staff.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful and highly qualified with good knowledge. The teaching quality is also good in our department. The course curriculum is relevant. It makes students industry-ready. Semester exams are difficult in our department.
Other: I chose this course because of the good placement opportunities and my interest in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering.

Average placement and campus life.
Placements: 83.53 percent (71 students placed out of 85 eligible) is the placement percentage. The highest package is around 16 LPA. The average is 8–9 LPA. Some top recruiters include Vedanta Limited, Tata Steel, JSW Steel, Jindal Steel & Power, Hindalco Industries, Adani Group, and Reliance Industries.
Infrastructure: Metallurgical labs are good. There are a few smart classrooms as well. Accommodation like Sirpur Hostel offers merit-based housing. Food quality is average. Since everything is connected under one building, moving between classrooms are quick and easy.
Faculty: Faculty members are highly qualified and emphasize deep theoretical knowledge. The curriculum is core-industry relevant but requires self-learning for IT and analytics roles. Semester exams are moderately difficult. It requires a 35% pass mark, resulting in an 85–90% success rate.
Other: On-campus hostels are highly restricted, forcing many students to find outside PG.

Good placement of metallurgical and materials engineering at NIT Raipur.
Placements: According to the data of 2025 placement, around 90% of students are being placed through on-campus placement which is somehow less than the data of 2024. Top recruiting company is JSW. Getting an internship in this course is quite easy, as the nearest steel plant is just 40 KM from Raipur.
Infrastructure: Talking about the infrastructure, it is not too wow as many less lecture halls are present. The class is not so advanced. Talking about hostel, only 20-30% of students get the hostel on the basis of merit and categories because of poor availability of hostel on campus. Newly built sports complex is well-equipped. Medical facilities are provided 24X7.
Faculty: Faculty members are highly qualified and knowledgeable. They use good techniques for a better understanding of students. Discussing my course, it is fully relevant and makes us fit for industry work. Though the semester exams are not so difficult but also studying before one night will not work. The grading is relatively. Faculty members are Ph.D. holders and working on some many projects.
Other: My course i.e., metallography is quite interesting more towards field work. But according to me, the tuition fee is little bit high.

NIT Raipur, A saviour for lower rank students.
Placements: Junior engineer, data scientist, data analyst, SDE roles are available. About 87% of students are placed in my college. For my course, Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, the highest package offered this year is 22 LPA, the lowest package offered is 6 LPA, and the average package is about 10 LPA.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure-wise, it's quite disappointing. There are limited hostels and limited seats within them. Not everyone can get a hostel. Students must compete for a spot. You have to be in the top 20 of your batch to secure a hostel seat, and this requirement repeats for all four years.
Faculty: It is quite good. Some teachers are quite helpful, while some are not, it depends on their personalities. The course curriculum is relevant for metallurgical industries. Talking about the semester exam, it's quite neutral, not too tough, not too easy, it all depends on the particular faculty.
Other: I chose this course because I found materials behavior to be quite interesting.

Satisfied with the college campus infrastructure. Placement is good.
Placements: JEE percentile range 90-95; the highest package in non-core is around 15 lacs, while the lowest package in core companies is around 6 lacs. Companies such as Vedanta, JSW, JSL, Aditya Birla, Reliance, MECON, and Larsen & Toubro, along with software companies like Quantiphi, offer top roles for IT and Computer Science graduates at Google through off-campus placements.
Infrastructure: We have a G4 class, which has star classes with AC facilities after the second year. Wi-Fi is available on campus but has a limited range. The library is good, with many books available from all departments, and has AC facilities. After the second year, some students with good CGPAs get hostels based on their location preference. A new sports complex has been built, and there are medical facilities as well as two canteens. The hostel mess provides good breakfast and lunch, though sometimes the food quality is not good.
Faculty: Yes, teachers are helpful in every department; they assist with internships. The curriculum also includes opportunities to choose subjects in open electives during odd semesters. Semester examinations are of medium difficulty; if someone pays attention in class, they can easily score well.
Other: Given my percentile, this course is suitable for me. The best thing is that our placement is good. We need to improve the campus, as there are not enough classrooms for our department. Festivals and events are excellent, lasting three days, including a cultural night, a DJ night, a celebrity night, and an entrepreneur day

NIT Raipur- Just NITRR things.
Placements: Out of 115 students in the batch, 90 of them are placed, and the rest are not placed because they are not interested in placement and want further studies. The highest package is 14.75 LPA from Vedanta, and the lowest package is 4.5 LPA from a steel company. The top role is GET, but non-core companies also come for the placement. 30% of students got paid placement from our batch for core companies.
Infrastructure: We have Wi-Fi on our campus and in hostels, also. Labs are decent and the library is good, but a bit short, but all the books are present in it. In our hostel, we get a single room for 2 students, and a mess is available as it provides meals for 4 times. We have a canteen in our campus with decent food, and we have medical facilities as well, which is good. We have a new sports complex on the campus for all the indoor sports also and the rest are outdoor sports like basketball, volleyball. We have grounds for it.
Faculty: Teachers are qualified and have good knowledge. The teaching quality is good. The course is relevant for the industry also, and we can opt for courses of other branches as open electives. No, the semester exams are not that hard; we just need to follow the class and do the previous year's questions for the end semester and mid-semester. The passing percentage is 33% of the overall, and 20 marks are for internal marks, 30 marks for mid-semester, and 50 marks for the end semester.
Other: I got this course due to my rank. Our college has 10-15 festivals all year, we have some scholarships as well.

NIT Raipur: The best tier 2 engineering college in India.
Placements: National Institute of Technology Raipur is the best tier 2 college in India for B.Teach, M.Teach, and many other courses. Overall the placement percentage is quite impressive here. My branch is metallurgical and materials engineering which is the first and the oldest branch of this college. Previous year the maximum placement percentage was 92% in this branch which includes the highest package of 20 LPA, the lowest package of 8 LPA, and the average package of 12 LPA. After this, the other branches like computer science, information technology, and many more are very good and have the highest placements up to 70 LPA.
Infrastructure: The college campus is nice which includes one main building, one building for the computer center, and an architect building. The hostel facilities are quite poor because everyone can't get hostels because of the lack of buildings. The course and teaching are very good in this college.
Faculty: Our teachers are helpful. The study pattern is also nice. There are total 8 semester in B.Teach. Each semester has two exams mid and end-semester. You have to study like 6 subjects and 6 labs in the first year. Overall this is the best college for engineering in tier 2.
Other: According to my JEE Main rank, I got this branch and it is the best branch in this college, because of the first and the oldest branch it is the main reason companies find out the brains of metallurgical and materials engineers.
