NIT Delhi MTech Eligibility & Highlights 2025
NIT Delhi offers a two-year full-time MTech course at the postgraduate level. NIT Delhi MTech programme is avaialble across multiple specialisations, including Computer Science and Engineering (specialisation in Analytics), Electrical and Electronics Engineering (specialisation in Power Electronics and Drives), Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering (specialisation in VLSI), Mechanical Engineering (specialisation in CAD/ CAM), Industrial Chemistry, etc. The minimum required eligibility criteria for MTech admission at NIT Delhi is to pass graduation, specifically in BE/ BTech/ MCA/ MSc or equivalent courses with a minimum aggregate of 60%. NIT Delhi MTech admission is based on GATE scores followed by CCMT Counselling.
The selection process for MTech courses at NIT Delhi includes:
- GATE Score: Generally, the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) score carries the highest weightage, often around 70-80%.
- Academic Performance (Graduation Scores): Graduation marks are also considered, typically carrying a weightage of about 10-15%.

NIT Delhi offers two-year M.Tech programmes with the following specializations: Analytics in Computer Science and Engineering, Power Electronics and Drives in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, VLSI in Electronics and Communication Engineering, and CAD/CAM in Mechanical Engineering. Students are admitted based on their GATE scores and through the CCMT counseling process. Each programme offers 15 regular seats and 2 seats for DASA students.
The cutoff marks change every year, as it depends upon varying factors. The factors affecting GATE cutoff for M.Tech course at NIT Delhi are mentioned below:

It must be noted, that to secure these vacant seats at NIT Delhi requires candidates to fulfil certain eligibility criteria i.e., candidates must have a certain period of work experience, a recommendation letter, certain scores in graduation, and might need to qualify for an interview conducted by the institute.
The NIT Delhi GATE CCMT Cutoff has been released for Round 1. The most competitive course was M.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering. The Cutoff for M.Tech in CSE closed at 680 for the General AI category candidates. The least competitive course for the General AI category candidates was M.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering (CAD/CAM), with the closing Cutoff score of 396.

CCMT Counselling
Candidates who qualify for the entrance exam and get good scores in the GATE entrance exam must appear for CCMT counselling. During the counselling process, select the NIT Delhi. Further, candidates are required to choose their preferred PG engineering branches during the choice-filling process.
Selection & Release of Merit List
NIT Delhi release the cutoff or opening ranks for MTech courses. Further, candidates with equal and more than ranks/scores can participate in seat allotment.
Seat Alottment Process
Seats are allocated to the students based on their scores/ ranks achieved in GATE. In addition, the choice-filling of MTech specialisation also plays an important role in the allocation of the seats.
Document Verification and Physical Reporting in the College
Candidates are required to bring all the documents in original along with 1 set of self-attested documents (signed on every page) & all the forms along with the fee receipt for the institute balance fee payment (Other than CCMT 2025 online payments). It is the responsibility of a candidate to produce all the requisite documents at the time of physical reporting. Any misinformation or forged document shall lead to the cancellation of the admission without any further notice.
Admission Confirmation
After the conclusion of all the selection rounds, candidates who are shortlisted can submit the fee and confirm their admission to the relevant course at NIT Delhi.
