Visvesvaraya NIT College review.

Placements: About 80% of students managed to get placed. The highest salary package on the table is around 13 LPA, while the lowest sits at about 5 LPA. Most of the recruitment action comes from companies like ZS, JSW, Jindal Steel, Birla, and Varroc. Unfortunately, only a handful of students snagged internships at our college. Most have to venture out and search for opportunities elsewhere. The top job roles being offered usually include positions like consultant and view engineer.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure is practical, with good facilities both for sports and academics. You can always use a LAN port for an unlimited public Ethernet connection.

Faculty: The teachers are very well-qualified and are of a lot of help. The teaching method is of very high quality. The training program is very relevant and it definitely prepares students for the industry. Semester exams are at a medium level of difficulty. However, the pass percentage is dependent on the average score of the class, which is 50%.

Great quality of life. Have to compromise a bit on placement.

Placements: In the 2025 batch, approximately 80% of students are placed in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering. The highest package is 14 LPA, the lowest 4.5 LPA, and the median 8 LPA. The average package of ECE, EEE, and MME was almost the same. MME comes just after Circuital in hierarchy in VNIT, above Mechanical and Chemical. Top recruiters are mainly from core industries (Jindal, JSW, etc.), and non-core recruiters are generally mass recruiters. Many students go for research internships. Top roles in core are entry-level, but in core, the stability of the job is unmatched. Whereas non-core shows big monetary gain early on in life.

Infrastructure: Classrooms and hostels are some of the best in NITs. 1st year students mainly get double-seater rooms, and if you report late, you will get triple-seater rooms. From the 2nd year, you have the option to choose either double or single-seater rooms. 3rd and 4th years are fully single-seater. 4th-year students get the newest apartment-class hostels. The mess is manageable, and medical and sports facilities are top class compared to any other NITs.

Faculty: All teachers hold Ph.D. degrees from IITs, IISERs, or abroad and are well qualified. Teacher quality varies, but in general, the faculty is all okay. From the 2nd year onwards, the departmental faculty handles everything. Semester exams are quite easy. Mostly everyone passes except for the BEE and Maths-II courses.

Other: I chose MME out of interest in the materials side of prospects and scope. The rising need for different materials in semiconductors is also a big upcoming area. Fests are not as grand as IIT Bombay's Mood Indigo or Tech Fest, but it is what it is. You will get pretty bored attending the same fests all 4 years, so enjoy 1st year as much as you can.

Review of VNIT Nagpur Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology.

Placements: The average package of our college is around 8–9 LPA. The highest CTC offer in CSE is 64 LPA, and the lowest CTC is 4 LPA. The placement percentage is more than 70%. In CSE, the average package is 15 LPA, and in Metallurgy, it is around 7–8 LPA, which is decent enough. The placement statistics are not that fancy, but the average and median packages are decent. Circuital branches like CSE, ECE, and EEE have great packages.

Infrastructure: We have a classroom complex with six floors where classes for most departments take place. Each classroom has a smart board and AC. Wi-Fi facility is available in every classroom, and there are more than eight lifts for easy movement. Each department has its own building where practicals are conducted, and the practical infrastructure is excellent. For example, in Metallurgy, there are instruments and machines that cost crores. Overall, the infrastructure is good. In the hostel, students are allotted different hostels each year, some rooms are dual occupancy, but most are single occupancy.

Faculty: In our college, professors are extremely qualified and knowledgeable in their domains, with about 8–10 years of teaching experience. Some professors are approachable and teach well, while others are very strict and do not teach effectively. The worst part about this college is the semester exams. They are extremely hard compared to other colleges, and professors do not give good grades, making it really difficult to score a high CGPA like 8+. You need to study hard to pass exams.

College is good. It is an institute of national importance.

Placements: Around 80% of students got placed. The highest salary package offered is 13 LPA and the lowest salary package offered is 5 LPA. Most recruitment is done by ZS, JSW, Jindal Steel, Birla, and Varroc. Only a few students got internships at our college. Most students have to look outside. Top roles offered are a consultant and view engineer.

Infrastructure: Facilities we have are air-conditioned classrooms, labs with all equipment present, and well research is going on in college. Hostel is good with the network, electricity is present all the time and housekeeping is good. Mess food is okay and it is better, we got food four times a day that is breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Faculty: Teachers hold doctorates, they are doing some research projects where students also get the opportunity to work. They are well passionate about their field. Curriculum is designed according to the industry, it keeps updating. Exams are pretty good, we have to study a bit for good scores. Faculty members are top-notch. All are Ph.D. holders who have deep knowledge of their subjects.

Other: We got this course according to our JEE rank, so we get this course and choose it. But it has a lot of research scope and industry is booming. The things which can be better more discussion with people or any person from industry, there should be more field visits. Events are on the point, there are cultural, technical, and literary events. All festivals are celebrated by communities very well. Campus is in between city so we have access to all the things. Extracurricular activities are good, have lots of things like street play to do.

Placements: VNIT placement 2023 concluded with a total of 1233 offers, and 1000 students got placed. 893 students were placed in B.Tech, 15 students from B.Arch, 271 students from M.Tech, and 24 from M.Sc. At VNIT Nagpur, prestigious companies like Google, Amazon, DE Shaw, Oracle, and many MNCs came. The highest package is 64 LPA, and the average package is 12 LPA. The minimum package is 6 LPA.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure of VNIT is well maintained. A high-speed LAN network is available 24 hrs. The labs are well-equipped with all the machines and instruments. The library is also the best. The hostels are very good and well-maintained. There is 100 percent hygiene in the hostel. The mess food is average. 24/7 medical facilities are available for students.

Faculty: The course curriculum is relevant and up to date. VNIT provides all the needs if anyone wants to research any topic. The professors are highly qualified and well-experienced. There is a strict rule of 75% attendance every semester; otherwise, students will get a grade "I", i.e., not allowed to appear for the exam. In a semester, two exams are taken: one is the mid-semester and the other is the end-semester.

Placements: According to me, approximately 5 percent of total freshers are in my course that is metallurgy in which we have 40 boys and 7 girls, the highest 30lakh p. a package got all0cated last year and average 10-12 Lacs, top companies like ong and oil gas, petroleum companies like bharat petroleum lovers are students, among 70 percent students got internship.

Infrastructure: In all over Nagpur the best hpstel and college is our one only, that's vnit, its have beautiful infrastr and top most the fellow students are also so cooperative with hostel faculty their student safety, mess food and hygiene also good and service like cloth washing Wi-Fi other are also available.

Faculty: Exam is too compare to another nits due to many have low score but good thing is that teachimg faculty is nice to us they help in each and every komenet and freindly with us plus seniors also support in our exams, pass percentage is 8 CGPA and more than 70 percentage students pass .

Other: Our course is not to much famous like CSE and also didn get laid for that but its to cool college life, experiencing real scienge of metals and minning .

It is a very good college in terms of placements and infrastructure.

Placements: Around 80-90% of students get placed in mechanical engineering. The lowest salary package offered is 3.5 LPA and the highest salary package is 31 LPA. Some top recruiters are Amazon, Oracle, Intel, Exxon, JP Morgan, and Chase. Around 40-50% of students get internships at Exxon, Schneider, etc. The roles offered are developer, junior engineer, analyst, etc.

Infrastructure: Facilities provided in our college are top notch. Its infrastructure is very good with a lush green campus and modern features. Wi-Fi is available in classrooms, the library, labs, tutorial rooms, etc. Labs are well-equipped. Classrooms have air-conditioners, smartboards, projectors, and audio systems. The food served is good. Sports facilities are very good with separate tennis and badminton court, and grounds for cricket, football, kho-kho, and volleyball. Every game is available in our college.

Faculty: Teachers in our college are good at teaching and hold Ph.D. degrees from renowned IITs. Teachers focus more on education. Teaching quality is good. The course curriculum is very good and relevant to some extent. It makes students industry-ready. Exams are averagely difficult. The pass percentage is 35-40%.

Other: I chose this course because of my rank. Students in this course learn to deal with mechanical problems.

I am satisfied with this college.

Placements: Almost 78% of students got placed in our college. The highest salary package offered is 18 LPA. The average salary package offered is 6.8 LPA. The lowest salary package offered is 3.7 LPA. Students should prepare for tech companies because they offer high salary packages. Top recruiting companies are Tata Steel Group, Reliance, Arcelor Mittal, etc. Top recruiting companies for our course are Flipkart and Amazon. Almost 75% of students got on-campus internships in their 6th semester as summer interns in companies like Amazon, Flipkart, and Tata Steel Group. They provide a 2-month of internship program after 6 semesters. The top role offered is graduate engineer trainee in which students can learn all about industrial working procedures in their first year.

Infrastructure: Our college provides us with all facilities. Our classrooms are well-organised. Benches are comfortable. We can write very quickly. A proper ventilation system is available in our college classrooms. Classrooms are equipped with smart boards and Wi-Fi. Our classrooms are very hygienic. Wi-Fi facility is available in hostels. Its connectivity is good. We can borrow library books from the library for a short period. We need to return books within the return period. If we are unable to return books within the time limit then we need to pay extra charges for them. Every hostel has a separate mess. The food served in the mess is average. They provide meals 3 times once a day. Our college has many canteens and cafes. They provide food items, snacks, etc. A dispensary is available in our college. They provide proper treatment. Our college provides us with sports facilities. We can play many games at any time. Our college has a good lighting facility which helps us in playing at night.

Faculty: Our faculty members are helpful. They always clear our doubts. You can ask your doubt in separate lectures. Many faculty members have completed their master's from top universities like IITs. Some faculty members have completed their master's from foreign universities. Our faculty members use PPT and slides to teach us which helps us in improving our concepts. The teaching quality is good. We have to put extra effort to clear our exam. Exams are conducted on monthly basis. We need to score more than 40 marks to clear each exam which is not difficult. We need to maintain good discipline so that we can get good marks and SGPA and maintain our CG. The pass percentage is 92%. The course curriculum is not much relevant because after completing the course, we get only bookish knowledge which helps us in getting marks but not makes us 100% ready for industries.

Yes, you can get admission in the 2nd year directly in the metallurgy department. For that, you have to appear for the Lateral Entry Entrance Examination i.e. conducted by state engineering entrance examination or the different private colleges that conduct their own examination. Good luck.
