Good NIT, developing gradually.
Placements: Approximately 96 percent of students of our branch were placed on average in the last 3 years. The highest package is 86 LPA CTC, the lowest being 6-7 LPA. Top recruiting companies are Amazon, Microsoft, Google, Adobe, and Accenture. Samsung, HCL Technologies, and L&T are other companies that recruited in the core sector, with Tata Motors being the consistent recruiter yet again.
Infrastructure: Hostel facilities are top-notch. You get the newly unveiled Birsa Munda Hall of Residence with top-tier facilities for accommodation. The initial accommodation is doubly rented. Single rooms are allotted from the 2nd year onwards. The academic facilities are also good. DJLHC, or the Diamond Jubilee Lecture Hall Complex, is the building where lectures are held. Academic labs are obsolete but still functional. Sports facilities are average, and the Student Activity Centre is very small, with only one room-sized gym. The quality of the mess food is average. It is pathetic for Hostel L.
Faculty: Teachers are well educated. The lectures are taken on time, and everything is explained. The classes are rarely cancelled, and most of the professors are open to doubt. Some professors are arrogant, and none of the professors care about the future of the students. The semester exams are doable if you study 3-4 days before. Curriculum is irrelevant, most of the students switch to coding and teach here.
Other: I chose this course, seeing the placement scenario, which is much better than other colleges. The tag of NIT is of little benefit, but it does help in the future. The academic facilities are good, and the campus is decently big.

Good placements but limited enjoyment on campus.
Placements: Around 90 percent+ in our electrical department (including off campus). The highest is 1.23 CPA (off campus), median is 14 LPA, average Is 16 LPA. Majority of non-core companies allowed the electrical department. Placements are generally good. Around 90 percent in each branch got placed. But placement data showing average and median packages also included off-campus offers.
Infrastructure: The electrical department in our college is comparatively better than other branches. Labs are good and well-equipped. Being a first-year student, we stay in a newly built hostel, probably one of the best among any government colleges. Mess food is not that great. Classrooms are good and very modern (feel like IIT Bombay). Campus feels green and good, but the majority of the campus is empty. The college lacks an auditorium, but it is being built.
Faculty: Majority of professors are good and overqualified. Majority of students are placed in non-core. Exams are moderate, but because of relative grading, it is tough to get good grades, even in labs.
Other: Placements are good and the college is near my house. Branch is good and has good opportunities. Fests are average to good. Not much to explore and enjoy inside the campus.

Placements are great. Infrastructure is decent. Mess food is average. Fests are below average.
Placements: Placements are great on paper, but the records include off-campus placements. As per the 4th-year seniors, the placements are much better than at other NITs. You will get to this rank. So if you are focused on placements, then you can join this college.
Infrastructure: The first-year hostel is great. It is newly built. It is a 2-seater hostel. The hostels for other years might feel old and in poor condition, but they are the same as other hostels in India, and they are single-seater. The lecture hall is great. The mess food is bad. For girls, they have built a new hostel, which we do not know if they will allot to first years or not.
Faculty: Faculty members are qualified, but you will not understand anything in class. The exams are of decent difficulty, but the checking of copies is lenient. The branch is a hill. You will get Alok sir, who does not take more than 5 classes in the entire semester.
Other: Electrical Engineering is the most popular branch in this college. You have to address seniors as Sir and Ma'am. There is no ragging culture here, but they ask you to give your introduction in the correct format. If you are not able to give it in the correct format, they make you repeat your intro. So some people might find this culture toxic. Many fests are organised here, but do not keep your expectations too high, since they are not great. The college lacks a few facilities, such as a good gym, auditorium, hockey ground, etc.

Electrical branch, NIT Jamshedpur.
Placements: I am persuing my B.Tech 1st year electrical engineering. In 2024, almost 100% of students in the electrical branch got placed with the salary package varying from 16 LPA - 84 LPA. The average salary package offered in the electrical branch is 18 LPA. Top recruiters include Atlassian, Accenture, etc. The internship offers for our branch are applausable. Around 60-70% of students get internships every year. Top roles include data analyst, software engineer, and some core jobs.
Infrastructure: Facilities are not available all the time, especially during the exam time. Wi-Fi is not available all the time. Network is also rare. Some of the labs are excellent, but some are average. The college is developing its infrastructure. It will be excellent in the future.
Faculty: Faculty members at NIT Jamshedpur are highly qualified and knowledgeable. Doubt clearing is not tough as the communication between teachers and students is nice. Students are given world-class lectures as expected from any NI. Internship and training programs are easily available. Semester exams are quite difficult. They are of high level. It is easy for any student who attends college regularly.

Infrastructure is developing slowly.
Placements: About 90 percent of the students who sat in placement got placed in our course. The highest placement was 82 LPA, the average was about 15 LPA, and the lowest was about 8 LPA. The companies were Atlassian, Havells, Philips, Tata, Adani, etc. In the third year, about 35 students out of 113 got internships, and in the final year, about 60 students got an internship offer.
Infrastructure: All facilities are available in college, but some do not work quite efficiently. For example, in most of the rooms of the hostel, the Wi-Fi does not connect, and there is a network problem all over the hostels. The quantity of food in the hostel is not a matter; it is just difficult for vegetarians to cope with that quality. All classes are held in the new lecture hall, which is fully air-conditioned, and the classes are also very good. The medical facilities are also very good. One can get a checkup by the doctor and instantly get medicine.
Faculty: The faculty are very good and helpful. Most of them are highly qualified. In our branch, the faculty are very supportive. They make the children feel comfortable with the course and curriculum. The semester exam is between moderate and tough, but almost all students make it to pass it with a decent CGPA.
Other: I chose this course because this was the best I was getting with my JEE rank, and I wanted to go into a circuit branch. The placements in this college are decent. The campus can be improved by improving the infrastructure.

One of the top colleges of Jharkhand and India, NIT Jamshedpur.
Placements: Most of the students from all branches are getting placed in their respective fields. The highest package is 56 LPA and the average is 12 LPA in my course. There are many top recruiting companies like Amazon, Visa, etc. An internship is good as well. The top roles that are offered are SDE, DA, and core roles.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is average. The campus has many things to explore and necessities. Wi-Fi is there, labs are good, classrooms are good, and the library is good as well. The facilities given by the college are also good. Food is not great at all. Medical facilities are good as well.
Faculty: The faculty, curriculum, and exams are viable here. Professors are very helpful for guidance and they are qualified from well-known places. Teaching quality is great as well. This course is relevant as well. It does make the industry ready. Semester exams are sometimes hard and easy depending on the basis of the subjects and the teacher's preference.

College is overall good in terms of placements and campus life.
Placements: This year, placements are far better considering the recession. In our batch of electrical engineering, the placement rate is around 98%. The average salary package offered is 15 LPA. The highest salary package offered is 83 LPA. The lowest salary package offered is around 5 LPA - 6 LPA.
Infrastructure: The first-year hostel is beautiful. The hostel provides all facilities. The food here is very good. It is hygienic and is of good quality. We also have a grand dinner once a month. The hostel has a sports ground for volleyball and badminton.
Faculty: Faculty members are overall good. All of them did their Ph.Ds from top IITs. They give enormous support to us in our studies and extracurricular activities. They give good grades in exams. We often get a good CGPA. The highest CGPA in the last year was 9.3.

Placements were 100% in 2023.
Placements: The placement percentage of our course in the previous year is 95%. The highest salary package offered in our course is 83 LPA. The lowest salary package offered is 10 LPA. The average salary package offered is around 17 LPA - 20 LPA. Many types of companies visit every year like Tata Steel, Flipkart, Amazon, Myntra, Zomato, Swaggy, Ted X, etc. Around 97% of students in our course get placed in different software companies like Flipkart, Amazon, Myntra, HPLI, etc.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college and hostels is average but now new buildings innovation are continuing. The library, academic buildings, sports grounds, and lab buildings are very good level. The facility of food in the mess is good. The canteen provides health products and snacks. Medical facilities are available. There are doctors for concerned about your diseases. Sports facilities are very good. All types of games are conducted every year by the sports club.
Faculty: Here all faculty members are supportive. They always give the right guidance for students' future. All faculty members have highly qualified degrees. They are very knowledgeable and have 6-7 years of teaching experience. This course curriculum is relevant because here every club presents their events for curriculum and entertainment with study included. Here semester exams are above average. Around 35 marks in each subject is a passing percentage.
Other: I chose the electrical engineering course because the percentage of this course every year is around 99%. I am interested in this course. All are good. There is no improvement needed in anything. Here many events and fests are held by the student council. Here total students are around 6,000-7,000. The connectivity is very good with seniors and each other. Here the scholarship scheme is available for students. All types of extracurricular activities are held.
