Highly satisfied because of good placements and good faculty members as well as seniors.
Placements: The placement of NIT Jamshedpur is amazing. Since it is a tier 2 college, its placement is similar to that of a tier 1 college. You can judge its placement by just a few points. Firstly, the average package of the CSE department is 27 LPA, which is the highest among all NITs. Secondly, the placement percentage of the Metallurgical and Materials Engineering department is 100 percent. Lastly, the placement percentage of the Civil Engineering branch was always above 90%, and this year it has reached 100%, the same as the metallurgy branch placement.
Infrastructure: There are a total of 14 hostels in our college. A few hostels have been built very recently, like Hostel L (1st year hostel), which has facilities similar to a 3-star hostel. There is one badminton court in that hostel and two volleyball courts. The quality of food you get in the hostel is quite decent. There is one Lecture Hall complex and one old academic building. You will get 24/7 Wi-Fi and LAN facilities. There is one library that is open 6 days a week. There is one dispensary where you can visit a doctor for free, and all sports facilities are also available.
Faculty: As we know, in each college of India, the same old curriculum is going on. Teachers are very supportive. You won't find any difficulty, and proper guidance will also be available there by teachers as well as seniors. The semester exams are not too tough, but you have to study a little bit daily or at least one week before the exam. Almost 95% of students pass the exam in college.
Other: The college is improving itself day by day. Everything is fine here except for one thing: there is no auditorium. So, sometimes students face problems when events are conducted in OAT or TSG (these are areas where our small events happen). For bigger events, we have a huge parking lot area as well as the ground. You will easily get scholarships here like FFE and NSP. The NIRF ranking of the college is improving day by day; currently, it is 82.

This place is good if you want placements.
Placements: Placement is very great for circuit branches, comparable to the top 5 NITs, also core branches also have good placement percentage. Recent placements show high packages (up to 82 LPA) and strong CSE average (around 20 LPA) with major recruiters like Google and Tata Motors, while academic calendars run July-Jan (Autumn) and Jan-June (Spring). For the NIT Jamshedpur Metallurgy branch, major recruiters are core steel/metals companies like Tata Steel, Vedanta Group, JSW, and JS.
Infrastructure: Hostels are top-notch, the new Birsa Munda hostel is on par. I have attached an image of the hostel. The library and labs are not that well-equipped. We have a dispensary which has all basic medicines, and an ambulance service is available 24 hours around the campus.
Faculty: The curriculum of the course is relevant, and we have studied a few portions of the core subject in the 1st year itself. We cannot totally depend on the process for our semester exam, as not all professors are that great, few are good, but not all. We have to study by our own to get good grades.
Other: There are so many fests happening around the campus. We have our sports fest, Urja, cultural fest, Ojas, and all branches have their individual branch fests.

NIT Jamshedpur gives us a luxurious life.
Placements: Our college atmosphere is good. Placement of our college is number one. Around 70% of students got placed from our college. The highest salary package offered is 57 LPA from National Institute of Technology Jamshedpur Jharkhand. RHI, Cisco, and many companies have visited.
Infrastructure: Facilities and infrastructure provided for our department are marvelous and attractive. Many facilities have been provided by the college. The quality of the facilities in our college is good. Hostel and the quality of food available in the mess and canteen is good. Medical facilities are available.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. Course curriculum is relevant. There is the best transportation from the college to the station. NIT Jamshedpur in Jharkhand is the best.

A pretty good campus life. But dissatisfied with the culture.
Placements: The placements in NIT Jamshedpur are pretty good, especially in the metallurgy branch. Mass hiring is done by most of the core companies; that's why the placement rates are good. Companies like Vedanta, Tata Steel, and JSL, JSPL—all these companies do mass hiring and give the decent package of 12-13 LPA. The average package varies from 12 to 15 LPA. Last year the placement rate in metallurgy was 100%. The job roles offered by the company are mainly of management. All these companies also offer internships, and they offer PPO if you work accordingly.
Infrastructure: The hostels in NIT Jamshedpur are really good, while the lecture has some problems, but it can be ignored. The classrooms are good enough to occupy at least 150 students. The library is also good. The whole campus is Wi-Fi enabled. There is a gym and different courts and grounds for different sports. The mess is pretty decent, not too good nor too bad. The hygiene is maintained.
Faculty: Some faculty on the campus are not that cooperative, but some are extremely good. They help students in internships and placements too. Yes, all the teachers are highly qualified, holding many research papers. The course curriculum is also relevant. They also include subjects like organizational behavior to make students industry-ready. But the semester exams are scheduled very badly, not giving enough time to prepare.

Faculty members are good. Placements are good, but one has to compromise with infrastructure.
Placements: The batch size of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering for placements is 120, and last year, we achieved 100% placement for all students. Top recruiters included Vedanta, ABG, and BlackRock. The highest salary package offered is 17 LPA, and both the median and average salary package offered is 9 LPA.
Infrastructure: Classrooms are very good with air conditioning, and a projector. The whole campus is Wi-Fi enabled. Medical facilities are also good. There is a dispensary for medical issues, and if the issue is not resolved then we have to go to the hospital. The amount invested in the hospital is refunded by the college.
Faculty: Faculty members are very supportive and helpful. They also give advice on what to do next in the future to get placed. They also help us with projects, and if we have any business ideas then we can go to the respected teacher, and they will guide us, which is truly valuable.
Other: If one is placement-oriented, then the NIT Jamshedpur is best.

Overall college life and placement scenario is best in NIT JAMSHEDPUR.
Placements: The best part of NIT Jamshedpur is its campus placement. Here, both core and software companies are equally valuable, and nearly 95% of students get placed every year, and it's getting better day by day. The previous year, Metallurgical and Materials Engineering achieved 100% placement.
Infrastructure: Academic and hostel rooms are very well-maintained. Here, we live in single rooms from the 2nd year of the course only. Here, hostel and academic buildings are regularly cleaned and maintained with proper hygiene. In our mess, every week the variety of food changes per meal to provide all nutrients.
Faculty: Curriculum has changed a little every year according to market needs. Faculty members are using variable techniques of teaching methods; some are good, but some are not good. All semester examinations are very important for CGPA, so take them seriously. Here you also need to maintain 75% attendance.
Other: There are so many clubs in the college, which engaged us in our field of interest.

Good infrastructure and nice faculty but seniors have different rules and regulations.
Placements: Above 85% of students are getting placed in my branch and some students who are left are preparing for the GATE exam or going for higher studies. Our college provides many companies like Tisco, Jusco, TCS, Wipro, Tata Motors, etc. Some companies are giving internship facilities that are tied up with our college.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is very good; our campus has many buildings like academic buildings, computer buildings, mess buildings, cafeteria and all labs and classrooms provide Wi-Fi facilities. The library floor is in another building, which is very useful for students. Medical facilities are also good because our college has their own ambulance for emergency cases.
Faculty: Faculty members are very supportive but some faculty members are strict but it's okay. Our curriculum is also relevant with our school studies but some things are new, like programming languages, environment engineering, etc. are extra. Our college semester is difficult but they conduct only two exams, one midterm and another endterm.
Other: Our college conducts many sports events and fests, in which many singers and celebrities are invited.

Behalf of placements, NIT Jamshedpur is a very good college. Its infrastructure is average.
Placements: 93.6% of students were placed in our college in 2024. The highest package was 80 LPA, which was bagged by 4 students of our college. In our course, Metallurgical and Material Engineering, the highest package was 17 LPA and the average package was 9.3 LPA. Tata Steel and Tata Motors are top recruiting companies for our course. 30% of students got six-month internships, and almost 28% of students got summer internships in the 3rd year in 2024. Our college is in Jamshedpur, where many companies related to our branch are present. So, there's a higher probability of finding a placement.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is present in classrooms, hostel rooms, and the library. Labs are also good, and some labs have AC. Classrooms are also very good, and AC is available there. Hostels, canteens are fresh and clean at all times. And the food quality is also good compared to many government colleges. There is also a medical facility available on campus. Sports and games are also required. The 'Urja' sports event is held.
Faculty: Most teachers are very helpful. Many of them are IITians who have degrees in B.Tech, M.Tech, and Ph.D. Yes, the course curriculum is relevant. The difficulty level of semester exams is average. 33% marks are passing marks for the semester, which is good. Above 90% marks is an O grade for the semester.
Other: I chose this course because there is 100% placement in this course. Many companies related to my course are present in Jamshedpur. To study with dedication. All events of my college are very good. CDS is a very good fest. Urja is a sports fest. And there are many other events like Innoreva, Robotics, etc. There are huge scholarship opportunities. The college allows NSP scholarships. And all activities are good.
