Good faculty, good placement, infrastructure and facilities should be improved.
Placements: One of the biggest plus points of our college NIT Jamshedpur is its placement stats. They are just too good and easily comparable to top NITs and even a few IITs. Talking about placement percentage, it's more or less always above 90% if taking major branches into account. In my branch, i.e., ECE, it's almost around 90-95%, the highest being 84 LPA last year, and the average being around 20 LPA, with the lowest being around 8. Top recruiting companies include many IT companies and a few core companies, too. Internship percentage is also pretty good here. Job roles vary from SDE to data analysis and many more.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is decent, but the campus seems so underutilized. The college doesn't even have an auditorium. But apart from that, the lecture hall and classrooms are pretty impressive and comparable to those of IITs. Labs and libraries are okayish and good. Talking about the hostel, it's just decent enough to live here. Rooms are good, but the main issue is with Wi-Fi. Even though they have provided a working LAN, the Wi-Fi just doesn't work. The food quality of the canteen is just average and sometimes below average. Medical facilities and sports are also quite good.
Faculty: Teachers are qualified and knowledgeable, but only a few are helpful or friendly. While many professors seem they have enough knowledge, they aren't able to explain properly. Overall, the faculty is very good here, except for a few. The quality of teaching is also very nice overall. The course, though, sometimes feels outdated and irrelevant. Moreover, I don't think that the current course structure makes the students industry-ready. Semester exams' difficulty totally depends on the professor, but in general, it's enough to study a week before to get a good grade. The pass percentage is also pretty good here.

The college is good for branches like CSE, ECE, and EE, and also has good placements.
Placements: There is approximately 80% of students placed, also with high packages like 83 LPA and with an average package of 1,600,000 for the ECE branch, and for other branches, it varies. Companies like Atlassian, Aditya Birla, and TCS are some companies with many students placed and interning.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is very good, with a very nice academic building, air-conditioned and comfortable seats with projectors and boards. Also, the library has AC, and with Wi-Fi on campus, there are good hostels with nice rooms and infrastructure, as well as a good location.
Faculty: Faculty members are very good, highly qualified from top IITs, and have many years of experience. Also, there is a relevant curriculum with good subjects that help in the preparation of the GATE exam and also for placements somewhat. The semester exams are difficult, and the pass percentage is 33%.

Placements are decreasing in every successive batch. So, we should work on NIRF and infrastructure.
Placements: More than 90% of students are placed. 1.44 crores is the highest, and average is around 13 LPA CTC. Recruiting companies are Google, Atlasian, PayPal, JP Morgan, Amazon, Optum, Flipkart, HP, Adobe, Salesforce, Tata, Adani, Microsoft, Samsung, Bajaj, ICICI Bank, HP, Aditya Birla Group, etc. Mostly go as a SW engineer.
Infrastructure: Mostly could work on infrastructure a bit, though not 24X7. Reading rooms are available and on time because of the open campus. Mess is okay, non-veg available can improve. Sports are nice. Equipments and space are available. Medical ambulance and dispensary are available. Canteen is also available.
Faculty: They can improve the core placement needed. They can also provide more proper labs and facilities. Professors are okay. Depends on the professor, exams are difficult. Pass percentage is 30%. Semester exam can work through notes and PYQ.
Other: I chose this course because of circuital branch. It is a blooming field and requires more exposure and more core placements. Fests and events are nice.

Brief review of NIT Jamshedpur, Depth. Of ECE.
Placements: Roughly 95% of students got placed and more than 20 students got summer internships. The highest salary package offered is 83 LPA. The lowest salary package offered is 6 LPA. However, the base pay in 83 LPA is 23 LPA. There are plenty of companies offering more than 20 LPA in base pay to final-year students. The stipend for summer interns varies between Rs. 40,000 per month - Rs. 1,04,000 per month. But most of them got a stipend of Rs. 40,000 per month. Around 5-6 students got a stipend of above Rs. 1,00,000.
Infrastructure: We have air-conditioned labs with LAN ports available for every group of 5-6 students in those labs. The library is also air-conditioned, but the librarian sometimes won't turn on the air conditioner. She thinks that there is no need for it. The library is good for studying with good Wi-Fi connectivity. In hostels, we have a LAN port in every room. Only 75% of them are working. Its speed is 100 Mbps. The mess food is normal but we do get chicken 4 times a week and chicken biryani on Sunday afternoons. There are basketball or volleyball courts in every hostel. There is an institutional health center for medical facilities.
Faculty: The course curriculum gives a basic idea about every topic you should know about. If you're planning to go in core ECE, but of very little to no use if you're planning to go for Dev/SDE roles. We only have one course in the CSE department which I feel should be more. Semester exams vary from department to department. For ECE, it's a bit tough but one can score above 7.5 CGPA if he/she studies properly before exams. In each subject, more than 100 students pass out of 120 in the end-semester exams. Faculty members are well-qualified. All of them have Ph.D. degrees from IITs and are good in their respective subjects.

Pretty good, not so bad, better than good! Can opt!
Placements: 90-30% of students got placed. The highest package is 82 LPA. The average package is 22 LPA. Over 725 job offers were made. More than 260 companies visited the campus. Over 100 new companies participated for the first time. Placements are less than last time, but maybe now it'll pick up due to the increased NIRF ranking.
Infrastructure: Old hostels are bad. New hostels are top-notch. Canteens, etc., are good. Mess food is bad. Classrooms are good. Wi-Fi has a hard setup. It's hard to connect, and the process lags. The library has AC, and it's average, not top-class, though. There's a computer center to use for our work with a good AC setup.
Faculty: Teachers are qualified with many degrees and gold medals from top IITs and all. They teach and cover the syllabus well. Some of them are strict. The curriculum is updated for the 2025 batch. It upgrades to today's time, which is good. But all drawbacks are for batches from 2024 to 2028 only. Exams are hard for real.
Other: I was not getting CSE, so I chose ECE. Relatively, grading should start. Fests and events are at the top-notch! There is an event every other weekend. Fests are top-notch for real. Scholarships, refunds, and everything work well. Sports and tournaments are good too.

Your expected JEE Main AIR is about 26520. The last year closing rank in NIT Jamshedpur was 95375 in ECE under HS quota for asked category. Hence if this trends continue for this year also, than your chances for admission are very less.

Hello Benimadhav, Do you really want pursue engineering in spite of getting 80 out of 360 marks in JEE Mains? I would advise you to seek guidance from career counsellor. Commerce and humanities too are good choices.

Hello Abhishek, If you want to seek admission in most sought after branch then definitely you have to score big. But, it's always good to have big aims. I think, percentile of 60-70 should be good.

ECE is better than EE. choose EE only and only when you have deep knowledge of 11th and 12th physics.
