B.Tech. in Electronics and Communication Engineering - Batch of 2029

NITs are best for everything.
Placements: About 80 percent of students from the Electronics and Telecommunication course got placed. The highest package offered is about 24 LPA. The lowest package offered is 3 LPA. The average package offered is 12 LPA. Top companies that recruit students are Oracle, Google, Facebook, Flipkart, etc. Almost 90 percent of students got internships.
Infrastructure: There are a total of 10 rooms per floor per block. There are 5 blocks. Almost all areas of the campus have Wi-Fi facilities. There are 12 labs. There is a library full of books. There is a Pai-Chain Cafe where people go to hang out with their friends.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful in every step of learning. They are well-qualified. Most of them are from NITs and IITs. They are even PhD holders from foreign universities. The course curriculum is well optimized for the future and has many relevant aspects in modern telecommunication.

A short summary of NIT Raipur's teaching.
Placements: About 80 to 85 percent of students from my branch (Electronic and Communication Engineering) got placements. Top recruiters are from major tech giants like Google, Amazon, Flipkart, PhonePe, Oracle, Deloitte, etc. Many students got internships (about 70-75 percent).
Infrastructure: Our college infrastructure is quite old, but it is still very much new and still one of the best. Almost all classes, rooms, and hostels have Wi-Fi. Even classrooms have a smart board. There are many sports clubs to join, and even NCC is there. So many sports events happen here.
Faculty: Faculty members are very nice and helpful. They are well-qualified to teach, as most of them are from NITs and IITs. Some of them are PhD holders, so the teaching quality is very high. The course curriculum is highly relevant to what is used in real life, as most of the stuff still used in telecom is taught here.

Four years of ventures at NIT Raipur.
Placements: Many students were placed this year. 18 LPA is the average package offered. De Shaw is the top recruiting company. 4-5 students were getting an internship. Recruiting companies are Zscaler, Cisco, Trilogy, Visa, HSBC, GE Healthcare, Fanatics. Software developer and data analyst roles are offered by many core companies.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is available on the campus and in the hostel. Two canteens are there, Vachan and Vihana, inside the campus. Regular lab classes are there. Separate labs are available for each branch. The hostel is also good. The room is very spacious. Triple sharing is for the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th years.
Faculty: Faculty members and the curriculum are also good. Two exams, mid sem and end-of-semester exams, are there. 4 units for each subject, 20marks from each unit. Mid sem is of 30 marks. The end-of-semester is of 50 marks, and the teacher assignment is of 20 marks. A very old faculty full of knowledge is here.
Other: The campus is also good. The environment is also good. Nature is also good. Small campus, which I like. Scholarship is also available for students.

The faculty tries to reach us but we can't understand them.
Placements: I am in my first year of B.Tech. Last year, approximately 60 members out of 114 got placed with good packages. The remaining of them are doing masters. Some of them want to prepare for groups and so far I can conclude that if we really keep our time to improve our skills here, we will definitely go out with a good package.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is not as extraordinary as I imagined before joining. Hostels are maintained neatly. The occupancy of students in hostels is minimal. Only merit students get the hostel on the campus. The interesting thing that going to happen is new campus is being constructed in new Raipur.
Faculty: The semester hardly takes 4 months in which every Saturday and Sunday we are going to have a leave. Many assistant professors take classes for first-year students. Some of them are good and provide us with notes which are important for our exams.
Other: There are so many clubs to participate.

Infrastructure was below average. There is not much hostel facilities in our college.
Placements: According to last year's statistics, around 80 percent of students were placed in our course. The highest package in our department was 55 lacs per annum, the lowest package in our college was 8 lacs, and the average was 13 lacs per annum. Top recruiting companies were Amazon, Google, Microsoft, and Infosys.
Infrastructure: All our faculty members are good in the subject, but they are teaching in Hindi. Maths and communication were good, but Bee Sir is always teaching in Hindi only. We, coming from South India, not understanding their language. Very few hostels are available in our college, so we are facing the problem of hostel facilities.
Faculty: Yes, teachers are helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. Teaching quality was good. Yes, this course is curriculum relevant. Yes, it makes students ready. Semester exams were tough. Pass percentage is around 90%. Some subjects were difficult, but some were easy. With proper preparation we can easily pass the exams.
Other: I was interested in the semiconductors and chip-making course, as my course teaches us all these things; I was interested in joining this course. Events are conducted once in two months. Around 5000+ students were studied in our college.

Students economy is the title for my review.
Placements: 40% of students got placed from my course. The highest package is 44 LPA and the lowest is 4 LPA. Amazon is the top recruiting company in my course, and 60 percent of students secured internships. Top roles offered include positions at companies like Amazon and Google. My college is committed to providing placements for students.
Infrastructure: In labs, there are no facilities, but they are not congested. Wi-Fi is available, though not very fast. Classrooms are not very good and lack air conditioning. The hostel is better compared to others, with adjustable food. Medical facilities are available. There are sports and games for those who are interested.
Faculty: Teaching quality is good. Teachers are helpful. They provide PDFs for study. The course curriculum is relevant. Semester exams are manageable, though sometimes the papers can be tough. The pass percentage is 70%.
Other: I got this college in my JEE CSAB round. I hope for improvements in placements and exam papers. Events are organized such as Eclectika and Samar. The campus crowd is high. The surroundings are good. Scholarships are also available, especially for SC/ST students.

NIT-RR College Review: FAIL or PASS!
Placements: In the recent year 2023, 70-80% of students were placed. The highest package was from our Electronics branch itself at 56 LPA, but from non-core, at Atlassian, the average package is 6 LPA. Some of the top recruiting companies are DBOI, VISA, Cisco, Teach Mahindra, JIO, etc. Internships were also offered to a decent number of students. Roles offered are mostly Software Developer, Backend and Frontend Engineer, and some for Data Analysts also.
Infrastructure: The classrooms are well-equipped with smart boards and highly equipped laboratories. The hostels, as we know, government-aided hostels, are just not very good. Still, renovations are going on for the year 2024; we have to keep maintenance on hygiene, and the quality of food needs to be upgraded. The canteen is also decent but can be upgraded more. The institute must expand indoor game facilities. The gym is there, which is a pro. The college has a tie-up with AIMS RAIPUR, so the medical facility is also very good.
Faculty: The teachers are very well experienced and have done their Ph.D.s from IITs and NITs. However, I feel the teaching quality is more marks-oriented and must focus on how to crack competitive exams. The course curriculum is on point. The difficulty of the semester exams depends on different branches also. Electronics, being a circuital exam, is quite tough but prepares well for the future.
Other: So I didn't choose the course. I was allotted this according to my JEE Rank in the JoSAA counseling. There are many clubs and committees in our college, and all are very interesting clubs. I would suggest anyone to take part in such clubs. We gain a lot of knowledge and experience from this. The fests start in October and end in late January.

NIT Raipur: The insights you should know before coming.
Placements: Pre-offers start in the third year only, and placements go up to the end of the fourth year. Many good companies like WIPRO, INFOSYS, DBOI, Microsoft, Samsung, etc., visit the campus and recruit students. In ECE, the highest on-campus offer made was 55 LPA, and the average is approximately 14 LPA. The placement of core branches is very good. Many good core companies visit and recruit many students. Almost 80–85 percent of the eligible students get placed.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is available everywhere on the campus. Classrooms are equipped with smart boards and projectors. The library is good, but the sitting area in the library is not that large. There are more than one Lac books available in our library. Labs are there for every subject, but the facilities in most of these labs are not up to par. Lab facilities need to be improved, as they can only provide practical experience and knowledge to the students. Hostel rooms are provided with a B.Ed. table, chair, track, and almirah. Food quality is not too good or too bad. We are provided with food four times a day: breakfast, lunch, snacks, and dinner. The menu is good and can be changed by the mess committee, which consists of the four students of that hostel who are selected by the warden. Proper representation of all the areas of India is ensured in choosing the members for all the committees of the hostel. Non-veg is provided twice a week and veg students get paneer on those two times. Hostel registration can be done immediately after admission for the first year. And later, it can be done online by the students at the end of even semesters.
Faculty: The faculty-to-student ratio is very high. In the first year, 90 students are in one section, so the ratio is 1:90. Some of the faculty members' approaches to teaching are very good. They use and understand technology well and use it well. But the teachers are of a conservative mindset and do not even allow students to use technology during lectures. We can reach out to any teacher for help at any time. Most of the teachers provide their contact details to the students as well. We can contact them and ask them when and where we can meet them regarding any mentorship or course-related issues. The course curriculum is good. Especially after the introduction of the CBCS scheme, the course is well-equipped with all the points that are required in order to have good skills. I have chosen electronics and communication engineering as my course because of the increasing interests and opportunities this field is creating. The curriculum for ECE is good, but the lab facilities are not up to that mark. I feel that the course curriculum is alright. But there is a need to improve the teaching methods. Professors should be trained to use technology to deliver lectures and connect well with the students. Also, lab facilities should be improved because labs can only provide practical experience and knowledge in our fields. Exams are conducted twice a semester and four times a year. The months are February, April, October, and December. The difficulty level of the exam is easy to moderate. Since the grading is relatively easy, students can pass the examinations easily.
Other: Campus life is not too good or too bad. Annual and technical festivals are conducted regularly and actively. Some of those are: Avartan (the Teach Fest), Avinya (the Innovation Fest), Shruti (the Musical Fest), and the most important, the annual fest of our college, 'Eclectika' conducted in February-March every year. Sports and extracurricular activities are very good, and proper participation of students is ensured in these. Eligibility for the course is a 12th pass. And then you have to appear in the JEE Main exam and get the rank required for admission. Application forms can be found on the website of the NTA (National Testing Agency). The application fee is $1,000 for one attempt, and there are a maximum of two attempts per year. Applications generally come out in the month of January for the first attempt and in April for the second attempt. Reservation benefits are provided, but I am not eligible for them, so I don't know much about them. The difficulty level of the JEE Main exam is good. It is not very easy to qualify. The admissions process is very good and smooth from my point of view. The only area for improvement is the process of prioritizing the college and courses beforehand and the inability to change them thereafter.
