Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com. Hons.) - Batch of 2026

College has a really good infrastructure and faculty with average placement rate.
Placements: We have a 21.1% placement rate for UG programs, and the highest package annually is 24LPA, and the average package is 5LPA. Top paying companies that come to our college for placement are Deloitte, Wipro, EY, KPMG, ICICI, and Zomato. They mostly offer financial analysis and financial accounting.
Infrastructure: Shivaji College has top notch infrastructure with a canteen, AC library, computer lab, ground, and classroom with fans. Our college also provides medical facilities and sports and games. Food quality is also good and not that costly. There are Wi-Fi facilities in the entire college campus.
Faculty: Teachers are quite helpful, qualified, and have adequate knowledge. They make things easy to understand and memorable. Course and curriculum are adequate for industry and make students industry ready. There is only 1 exam, which is held at the end of each semester, and exams are not that tough, they can be cracked by studying persistently.

A good environment for learning, with a variety of seminars, events, and ceremonies.
Placements: College offers a decent experience for B.Com students. In terms of placements, many students get internships in fields like content writing, research, banking, consulting, and public sector organizations. Salary packages usually range from about 2 to 5 LPA, depending on the company and role. Top recruiters include educational, research, government, and finance-related institutions.
Infrastructure: Campus infrastructure is quite good. There are two main buildings: the old building and a newer one called Jijabai Block, which feels modern and well-maintained. The library is big, has Wi-Fi on all three floors, and there are new study rooms made from bamboo, which students call Bamboo Houses. There’s a nice garden for students to relax in, but the college doesn’t have a hostel. The college also runs NCC camps, especially for girls.
Faculty: Faculty members for the B.Com course are friendly, supportive, and experienced. They guide students, share useful feedback on tests and assignments, and are easy to talk to about academics. The course involves regular project work, presentations, and semester exams, which are moderately difficult if you keep up with your studies.

The college has great faculty and a decent crowd life with satisfying opportunities.
Placements: There is a placement cell in the college, and it has both students and teachers. We will definitely get a placement opportunity but the rate of placement is quite low. We can't just be dependent on college for placements. The highest package offered last year was 24 LPA and the average package ranges from 5-6 LPA. Many jobs are related to finance and management.
Infrastructure: The college is not very big but it's not too small as well. It has a small garden where we can relax. The canteen is available. The college has Wi-Fi but the speed is not that good. The library is very huge and we will find all the required books for our course. The college has all kinds of labs required for the course specifications.
Faculty: Teachers are well-educated and behaved. They have the required knowledge as per the requirements but this is only for my course (B.Com. Hons.). I heard that teachers in other departments are quite rude and strict. Even if we have attendance like 50-55% then they will make it 66% so that we can give exams. There are no mid-semester exams like things, and we only have semester exams and frequent tests for internal assessment.
Other: The college is good but still needs some improvements. The best thing I can say is that this is one of the best off-campus colleges with great faculty and other staff members. It has great connectivity as it's near the metro station.

The placements fairs are more than enough for the second year and freshers to find internships but there is a place for improvement.

It is a good college for active participation.
Placements: Many good companies also hire especially in B.Com (Hons) but for that students should have no backlogs all over the course. It is difficult to get placements sometimes. We also need to have at least 7 CGPA in all semesters to get a little surety of placements.
Infrastructure: There is no hostel available in this college. Some new classrooms in the new building are excellent whereas the old ones are a littly mess. The infrastructure is not that bad, and it is good and the view is also nice. The library has excellent infrastructure so students can consider this college.
Faculty: Faculty members are good and student-friendly. Teachers are very nice, cooperative and friendly and understand us being busy in society. They helps us in our studies as well. This makes a positive environment. The course curriculum and exams are also easy and very student friendly.
Other: In respect of fests, college society are top-notch and very active.

Review of Shivaji College, University of Delhi.
Placements: Placements from the college are not exceptional, but the placement cell is active. Students are expected to reach out to companies themselves. Internships are helpful to get experience certificates, which could be useful for future job applications. However, less than 10% of students make use of this placement cell.
Infrastructure: Even though multiple labs are present for practical classes, only the newly constructed one has fully functioning computers. Other labs are old and 30% of computers do not work. Labs are equipped with air conditioners but classrooms are not. Wi-Fi is available in the college library. The library is decent with books available according to the syllabus. The hostel and mess are not available in the college. Most outstation students live in rented flats or PGs. The sports complex is one of the biggest at Delhi University and promotes football, cricket, tennis, and basketball. A partially functioning medical center is also available for students. The total college fee includes the hospital charges.
Faculty: Our professors are well-qualified and helpful to regular students. Even though there are over 120 students in a batch which is divided into two classes of 60. Hardly 10-15 students attend the classes regularly. The course curriculum is relevant and makes students industry-ready if properly utilised. Semester exams are moderately difficult. Students who start preparing one month before exams can pass it with ease. The pass percentage is 60%.

Chances are less as your percentage is low according to the cut-off and also, many students apply for DU colleges from all over India and also, there is no home state benefit. Most of them want B.Com honors, so it depends on your luck now.

In DU, the top four subjects are considered including the compulsory subjects. You can get this college in 1-3rd cutoff. However, category matters too.
